Pros
  • Ease of modifying records. Entering wage information and having one solution for all the HRIS needs of our organization.
  • Its incredibly easy for employees to use. Tracking time, seeing paystubs, and fulfilling HR needs is now easier than ever.
  • Great HR partner from ADP, fairly easy to use system, all in one platform saved a lot of time on the benefits administration side.
  • Provides us with accurate information. Security is a priority but still user friendly. The information listed on each tab is easy to understand and affords you the opportunity to access more data if necessary.
Cons
  • The costs. I know there are a few other options out there that are slightly cheaper, but for the quality I dont think you should pass it up.
  • The customer support seems as if they have too much on their plate. Possibly that they have been given more than they are feasibly able to do.
  • Some segments are not available without paying extra, and the extra is cost prohibitive. The reports and queries are complex to create (custom).
  • Expensive, no way to individually negotiate benefits so you're tied to whatever increase they negotiate for the full PEO, not a lot of wiggle room in the product, no transparency or separation of cost by piece of product, just one large bill.

I came into an organization that was already using ADP Totalsource as a HR/Benefits solution due to a lack of previous personnel in the HR space. The organization was about 80 people when I joined and was about 175 when we left total source. ADPTS is a good solution for a small organization with minimal HR capacity, our HR partner on the ADP side, Tarena, was AMAZING and the interface itself was fairly easy to manage on the admin side. We ended up leaving after multiple years of around 10% increases to cost of benefits and the inability to get a clear picture on exactly what certain components were costing. In the end, I'd say it's a good short term solution (or possibly long term) for very small businesses, but once you hit 75-100 employees, it's a good time to move on. Great HR partner from ADP, fairly easy to use system, all in one platform saved a lot of time on the benefits administration side.

I think overall it is a good investment for the company. Even though it does seem expensive.

The ability to keep all of my employee information in one place.I appreciate the ease of use and the availability of information. Information on compensation is available to determine the cost of an employee and to relay that to them. There is also historical data on salary that is helpful to have electronically.
