We are using APS for accurate time records of employee, using direct deposit and giving employees access to their information in real time. We have had a good experience, they are always making improvements and receive feedback very well.

Cons

Reporting does not have everything I look for and the report builder is hard to create custom reports The scheduling feature is difficult to work with.

Intuitive & easy to use with great customer care

Happy with their software and customer service. If I have a problem at any time, someone from my designated team gets me a solution or answer the same day.

Pros

Being able to run such a wide variety of customized reports is extremely helpful for me on a daily basis. Our employees also can easily access their pay information, benefits and time-off accruals through the employee portal.

Cons

The Performance Review feature is not yet customizable for the needs of our company.

Pretty easy to navigate, help tools and online support is good.

APS Payroll

Our experience with APS Payroll has been very good. They are readily available to answer questions and to help with payroll processing timely.

Pros

Numerous canned reports are available making it reasonably easy to export data. Creating custom reports is not difficult.

Cons

On the APS Time Clock feature, the user password has to be 6 characters which takes several seconds to process which can slow down the clocking in and out creating longer lines and frustrated employees. The formatting of the reports are not as "pretty" easy to follow as compared to some other payroll companies.

Recommendations to others considering APS Online

We have previously used Paychex and ADP. They have portals that were designed in the 90's and not intuitive. For large payroll that uses ADP daily, it's not that hard to learn. For small companies who don't use it daily and for training new payroll staff hires, the old companies are way behind the intuitive interface of APS. There are dozens of choices and we examined 6 options before choosing APS

We have a little disconnect with our 1099 consultants in that there is no way to enter company name (LLC) and the person associated with it so we can do a search either way when trying to locate someone in the employee list which requires me to keep a spreadsheet for cross reference.
