It’s an industry standard…

I've used both Blackboard and Canvas in an educational environment. While Canvas has obvious strengths with many features available, Blackboard's ease of use has made Blackboard an everlasting tool at our school.

Not too bad

My overall experience has been pretty positive with Blackboard Learn.  I will continue to evaluate it against the other options available as well.  

Blackboard Learn is Decent

We have since moved on to Canvas at my workplace, and I long for the days when all we used was Blackboard. I have had more trouble with Canvas than Blackboard with my distance learners.

Overall, it gets the job done. Although I have heard that most people like Canvas better.

After over 6 years with BlackBoard, you get used to it

Overall it was an okay experience. I think I prefer using other programs vs Blackboard (Like Canvas).

While it got the job done, it could use some updating. I do like this better than Canvas.

Better Learning Tool Out There

Please see above :). I've used BB since I was in college (back in the aughts) and regret that my future students at CSUSB will not have access to it moving forward. Even still, I likely won't miss the gradebook, though Canvas' leaves much to desire as well...

True and Tried (but also Tired)

I found blackboard a great complement to in-person learning. As a developing high school student I found it easy to navigate. Slightly prefer canvas, but blackboard was comparable. 

Good alternative to canvas

If you are looking for this kind of system, I would suggest Canvas. It is was better.  Easier to navigate, easier to customize, and works on every type of device.

Not the best 

Blackboard for College

It served its purpose and I don't recall any major issues with use, but when I graduated high school I was delighted to switch to Canvas in college instead. Everything about Blackboard struck me, as a student, as outdated and depressing.

Functional, with some philosophical flaws

Blackboard is competitive with Canvas and other course management systems for higher education.  It can be used across synchronous, asychronous and hybrid course offerings.  It is a bit limited in its customizability features, but overall it is a solid course management system. 

Blackboard....there may be better resources

It definitely helps facilitate online learning and is a great tool to use. It's very helpful when we need to see our grades and I like how there's an option to see the mean score of the grades.

I recently began using CANVAS on campus when my university switched from Blackboard - I like Canvas much better than Blackboard.. something about it flows significantly smoother.

My university uses Blackboard Learn but when I took summer classes at community college, I used Canvas. The difference is night and day. Canvas is modern and functional. It made finding things and remembering due dates very easy.
