Software is so easy to use that we rarely interact with support. When we do, they react almost instantaneously. Experience has been very positive for us.
Ease of set up, training and use. I like the weekly reports that I get that remind me of upcoming dates, PTO requests, etc.
Could use a little more robust reporting function but overall, it works fine and meet our needs.

We have saved time and money while making our PTO/sick time processes and policies easier, more efficient, and more clear.
The software is extremely easy to use and configure. The customer support has been very helpful with the few problems we have had. It has taken what was a cobbled together system of paper forms and spreadsheets and streamlined at a very reasonable price - the value proposition has been attractive to say the least.
I have no complaints at the present time, although it would be nice to be able to further customize the time off categories/add more, as well as automate more of the year end processes we have.

We mainly use this software to store, track and request our PTO. I do like how I can access my current time as well as my previously requested time and make changes to any requests.
I do not like that our only option for requesting time off is for a full or half day. Many times things such as a doctor apt. or personal time may only be something that will take an hour or two, so I would love if we could request a smaller portion to use our PTO. This way we can track better the time we are taking off. It would seem some employees will take advantage of taking an hour here, or there without ever making up or accounting for that time, which leaves others to pick up their slack.
Deanne, thank you for the review! I'm happy to report that Built for Teams does indeed allow you to request time off by the hour, not just by the day. We even allow you to be as specific as to the minute, if needed! Your account administrators have set up your company account, however, to only allow half-day increments. If they'd like to change that setting, we can provide any guidance to them that they might need. Feel free to ask them if they're open to changing that setting and if they need help doing so, contacting us with questions!

The aggregated out-of-office calendar is very useful for providing visibility across multiple teams and ensuring that the necessary approvals are made.
Approvals can sometimes take awhile and it's not clear how to check the status of them. We would have liked to see if e.g. someone has looked at a PTO request, or a way to send reminders to take follow up action.
Great feedback! It's true that approvers don't always take immediate action when they receive the PTO request notifications (even though the notifications themselves are immediate). Because the notifications are primarily via email, there isn't a reliable way to know if the approver has "looked at" a PTO request but...would it help if the system sent reminder emails to the approvers, reminding them that they have PTO requests still awaiting their review?

The Built for Teams staff was very responsive and every interaction with them was professional and courteous. The entire process was easy and fast.
Software is very intuitive and allows for customization of any type of leave. With three locations, having one centralized calendar was crucial; Built for Teams' calendar feature is a favorite feature for our entire staff. Submitting leave requests is a snap and can be done from multiple places within the site.
Can't think of any real issues or areas for improvement.

Using Built for Teams has improved our ability to track and monitor employee PTO time. We are able to be more accurate with less effort. Our employees can now see for themselves the balance of remaining PTO days. As a manager the approval process is quick and easy. This is a very good tool.
Allowed us to automate a process that was handled and tracked manually.
We have had no issues with the software.

Saved multiple hours of work for an individual trying to track down who had time off and how much could they use.
Very easy to use, good end user access and details. Easy to use via mobile device or through desktop.
Lacks some out-of-the-box functionality. The tool is so good at its core functionality, you want to use it to do more, such as track work travel schedules.

You guys have done or worked with me to figure out the best solutions to my problem. I wish the software was more personalized or had the options to personalize more but you listen to your customers and I appreciate that.
Its very simple and easy to use. Customer service is great and they always respond in a timely manner
I'm not able to personalize per role. Like all level two managers see this, level one this, level three this. I would like to be able to personalize the calendar more as far as black out dates vs days we cant have any techs off but can still have office roles off. We are a body shop and only have fill ins for specific roles. I wish when I changed someones job title it automatically changed them to the group they are in. For example: If we have a DA Tech that moves to a team. I can select that he is moving to Reassembly Jr and the group i made would update his hrs to 10 hrs PTO time when requested, it would remove him from the DA Tech group he was in and add him to the Reassembly group, etc. It would make it a lot easier to sync everything to one.

Managing PTO is so much simpler now as opposed to when we managed it with a spreadsheet and the employees love it.
Very easy to train employees on how to use the portal. The program is pretty intuitive, and it has streamlined our process for tracking PTO. Employees can log in at any time to see their current PTO balances, which eliminates employees asking how much PTO they have remaining. We use three different PTO pots (PTO, Optional Holidays & Work Remote) and Built for Teams makes it a breeze to manage. the reporting is pretty robust as well allowing me to generate reports for any date range and include all or select employees.
Editing past PTO can be a challenge, currently, we have to make an adjusting entry if an employee's plans change and they don't use the time they requested. I know they were working on a way to make these corrections, so it's possible that edits can be made now. the only other item I would consider a bit of a con is there's no phone support. Support is done through chat - sometimes it's very quick but other times not so much.

Convenience of keeping track of my personal pto, versus maintaining a spreadsheet on my own. And having to hassle HR to make sure I'm accumulating correctly on a regular basis.
Ease of use, ability to see the addition of PTO hours, submitted hours, and pending hours is well laid out and easy to follow.
Would appreciate the ability to set up reminder emails for pto hours added, or total hours accumulated. Or a statement of activity on a quarterly basis so the possibility of hours not accruing once they've reached the maximum limit.

We were searching for software/a website that would enable us to keep PTO updated and accurate (we do not have many hourly employees and most other websites/software include hours worked, not just PTO). Built for Teams has enabled us to do this with ease. Employees are able to login and request for time off and supervisors are then able to go in and either approve or deny the request. Payroll is...
The best part of Built for Teams is the ease of use and that it ONLY tracks PTO, not hours worked by employees.

everything has been great so far...maybe that you can't see all of the names on the calendar when someone requests a day off?

I love having a single place to request remote and vacation days as well as see when other team members will be remote or out of the office. It is equally as useful to see how much time I have PTO time I have remaining in a given year.
There's nothing I don't like about this software, but if anything, it would be nice to have additional features like having a place to view current HR policies.

Pleased we made the decision to go with Built for Teams. After using it for a few months, it is now second nature to use.
It replaces all of the manual calculations I used to do and I can rely on the calculations to be correct.
Not being able to select which request I wish to modify or delete for a staff member and that they have to go back and enter any request that came after the one that was deleted.

My overall experience with Built for Teams has been very positive, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to create a seamless process for handling PTO company wide.
Built for Teams has been an amazing addition to our company! It's very easy to use and allows both employees and employers to keep track of all aspects of PTO, from requests and approvals to time left to use. It also has a master calendar that can be viewed by everyone in order to see PTO being used by themselves and other people, as well as job anniversaries.
I haven't run into any issues with the software so far and have been using it for years.

We started using built for teams to track PTO, coming from a process of email and spreadsheets. It has allowed us to better track and oversee PTO as an organization.
- Easy to use - Able to quickly review my teams PTO at a glance - Email notifications are great
- Have to create multiple entries when you have an interrupted span of days off to request - Days off are requested in hours which can be confusing to new users

I'd love to hear more about how you think the system should work when taking time off that isn't consecutive days, i.e. you take some days off, work a few days, then take more days off. It seems like those *should* be separate requests but I'd love to hear more about what you think. Account balances can be viewed in days or hours. When submitting a request, though, the system does calculate how many hours that request will use. This is critical to having a system that is both highly accurate and highly flexible. I think there are a few products on the market that do everything in days, but those systems are extremely inflexible in terms of what they can support. We've opted for the more robust, more accurate approach!

I have a small business with 6 employees. Just easy to track for us and our staff. Worth the small expense.
It's super simple. When we hire a new employee, I have them fill out their entire profile so not only is it easy to track PTO and sick days, but all the HR info is in one place. Simple.
This may be possible, but I have not figured out how to sync the built for teams calendar to our fast mail calendar (Apple calendar synced). Would love it if it were connected.
Glad to hear we're helping you run your business, Jeremy! I just did some research on FastMail and according to their online documentation, it appears that they don't support the industry-standard iCal protocol. That's unfortunate! It might be worth reaching out to them to suggest that they put that on their product roadmap. This might be the first calendar product I've come across that doesn't support iCal so I would think they'd want to do that!

Tracking employees time off, coverage with the calendar
This software is very user friendly, and is very helpful with reporting totals at the end of the month. Great Place to store reviews and other HR documents.
I would like for employees to be able to choose hourly vs only 4hr increments.

Being able to easily track requests and hours is so time saving and easy. Just love it!
It makes it so easy to know my own balance, but, also, the balances of my Employees. It's super easy for me to submit a request and very easy to approve my employees straight from the email, I don't have to log in to approve it.
I honestly cannot think of anything except the ease of use for the mobile version.

Built for teams does not allow to deter from the default holiday schedule.

Ease of use by employee and supervisor. The ability to quickly see and approve leave requests. The system is completely paperless.
The employee can't easily print out/access a report of his time taken. He can easily see what is left and what the screen shows but he can't print his history.

Your employees do have the ability to view their complete history, which shows every transaction (even for past years). It sounds like it would be helpful for you if we made the transaction history easier to print, though. Is that correct? I'll have our customer support team reach out to you to discuss this further.
