Everything you could ever want in an LMS!

24/03/2017

We adopted Docebo as our LMS almost two years ago and have never regretted the decision. The robust features, superlative customer service, and the ease in which you can empower other users has been a boon to our learning/training initiatives. Any issue we have encountered has been solved either by the LMS itself, or by working with a technical representative to come up with a solution. Our instance supports over 10,000 users with multiple domains, and Docebo handles all of this seamlessly. Our end users have also remarked on the easy navigation and pleasant UI/UX. I can't imagine using another LMS with the same level of success Docebo has provided.

Pros

Ease of use, robust customization options, user friendly, great technical support.

Cons

There could be better communication of smaller updates or patches to the system. Major initiatives are communicated, but some smaller changes are not done so with the same urgency.

Full and complete LMS

11/01/2017

This is the first time I have ever used an LMS and so far, it's been a great experience! I am just not happy at how difficult to manage it is and that it's not 100% eye friendly. If you're looking for something colorful and easy to use, Docebo can improve a lot in that area (that's my opinion)

Response from Docebo

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts Fabiana, and we're glad that it's been a great experience for you so far. Since you're still using a free trial version of our LMS, if you're struggling to take full advantage of the functionality on your own I'd recommend taking a look at our Knowledge Base: https://www.docebo.com/elearning-knowledge-base-support/getting-started-with-docebo/ (Docebo clients receive additional training). There are also a number of changes you can make to the "Branding Look & Feel" that may make your Docebo platform more visually appealing to you. We hope this helps you get the most out of your free trial experience!

Poor sales service and promised functions that were not available

13/12/2016

I recommended this product to a client based on its features (module based discussion board, journal features, embedded quiz questions) that were told to me. In addition to those not being available, the platform is very clunky and time-consuming. Every time you make a small change the whole page has to refresh. The worst part of the experience was that when we were ready to buy the product (before we knew of these limitations), the sales person totally went MIA for about a week and a half and totally delayed our project without any remorse or accountability. Really poor customer service!

Pros

Coaching feature but it is limited

Cons

Everything listed above but the sales service is at the top of the list.

The best teaching assistant

08/11/2016

If you are looking for a LMS you can trust, Docebo is you go to software. Various interactive options let you organize anything from training or coaching to lectures in dozens of languages! I was impressed by it!

Pros

There are some many tools that can be used that you will find one for every specific occasion. And tailored to your native language!

Cons

At first, it a bit difficult to get used to all functionalities, but after a while you can get a clear picture of all the tools you can work with. Product is a bit pricey.

Friendly LMS Platform

25/08/2016

Pros

There are so many good things, I will try to list the most important: very friendly and easy-to-use, simple to deploy (cloud-based), flexible to upload learning content, outstanding automation functions that make administration much easier, modular features, more than 30 languages and the chance to test it free for 14 days.

Cons

Current pricing for users packages for more than 350 active users (less competitive); a few parts of the software are not translated yet (not a big issue).

The trial version is allways very interesting - it gives a wide view about funcionalities and its quality. Try to explore the possibilities for uploading learning content, creating learning plans, batch users registering, power users, reporting (is it possible to create new ones or export data), notifications and automated enrollment. Also test the quality of the technical support during the trial period.

WARNING. WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

26/06/2016

I regret the decision to go with Docebo. First, their product itself is rather poor. The video player seems like its outdated and slow to respond, plus the rest of the user interface left a lot to be desired. Many of the functionalities and add-ons that their system boasted left a lot to be desired, as they were either useless or buggy. However, where Docebo disappointed me the most was with their customer support. First, it began with getting instructions that amounted to "Go look at our website FAQ" to get answers on how to use their product. We only signed up for the smallest subscription as to test out Docebo and slowly grow our services when necessary. But based on the responses that I received, it seems that if you're not a larger scale customer, you will be ignored as I was towards the end of our relationship. Josh Squires was extremely responsive during our trial period, answering my emails within 24 hours each and every time. Yet once we actually transacted and became their client, Josh would literally go days without responding to an email and I was left dealing with the unhelpful support desk and their generic replies.

Pros

Docebo seemed like a good product for the cost, as it was one of the cheaper options that I tested. But there was a reason for that. If you buy into their lower packages, they will not help you whatsoever. Good luck figuring out to deal with their system by reading through their "Knowledge Base." Take a look for yourself and see if their "Knowledge Base" actually really answers your question if you need specific help working around a problem. It is a general user manual that barely scratches the surface of how to deal with issues, yet they'll tell you time and time again that the answer can be found there. Also, the "search" button on their "Knowledge Base" is the worst. Good luck finding the page that helps answer your question.

Cons

Outdated - the video player responds a full 3-4 seconds later after you press the play button. User interface is mediocre at best. The lag throughout the entire site is frustrating. It will also take you a good while to get accustomed to their panels and options. It's not an easy system to use and can be quite maze-like when trying to find specific functions.

Ideal solution for quick yet powerful eLearning implementation

14/10/2015

We've had quite a challenging task to significantly improve learning experience for our partners and employees in just 2 months. In fact, the deployment took us 3 weeks from the trial to a full launch. Thanks to a really fast API response we were able to integrate all our systems: SSO from company and partner portals, progress informer for a learner, real-time courseware customization depending on LMS metadata, certification synchronization with our CRM, extended reporting and some other important items. We're excited about how fast Docebo grows and eager to use all of new cool features that are to be added in future versions!

Pros

1. Fast and easy-to-use interface 2. Flexible settings 3. Reach functionality, including full support of business process to certify our partners 4. Fast and professional support and reaction to feature requests. 5. Very responsive API

Cons

We'd like to see richer API (to have access to all of the objects on LMS side and manipulate them).

Awesomeness

The simple UI disguises how powerful this is. It has all the features the old world heavy duty LMSs have at a far more realistic cost. We were set-up in literally minutes and have never looked back.

Pros

Great UI Good Price Allows us to focus entirely on content rather than having to waste time in a a battle with system administration. Great design - looks very modern.

Cons

None that we have yet noticed.

GetApp Analysis

Docebo is a cloud-based e-learning management system designed to significantly cut down the time and costs associated with traditional classroom learning through the delivery of online learning with real-time training results tracking. Docebo LMS is enterprise-ready, supports blended learning, which may include some face-to-face between instructors and students, and with a companion mobile app that supports learning from anywhere, anytime. It promotes seamless classroom online chatting, gamification, and apps and widgets that can be added or removed in one click. Docebo's user interface is a blend of deep functionality and simplicity to ensure optimal end-user experience.

Docebo can easily be rebranded for a more customized look and feel. You can even create and use your company’s custom domain. Its ability to integrate with various applications allows you to expand and extend the students’ learning experience and the instructors’ capacity to deliver more impactful training courses and materials. Some of Docebo’s core features include ILT-classroom, file uploading and converting, advanced tracking and reporting, powerful integrations and the course marketplace.

What is Docebo?

More than ever, human resource training is becoming more and more a strategic business asset, as competition becomes more and more intense in virtually all industries. Thanks to the many benefits of cloud-based learning and the technologies behind it, huge costs and considerable training times are being significantly slashed, particularly for companies with locations in different parts of the world.

Docebo’s e-learning platform presents distinct advantages that include local training sans the business travel expense, interactive instructor-led training (ILT), real-time tracking of students’ learning progress, and shorter training-to-implementation times. Docebo learning management system can be used for situations like product training, training a team of sales professionals, dealers and post-sale support personnel, software training, security, privacy and business ethics training, school and university education, and soft skills and management training.

Main Features

ILT-Classroom

There are two types of online trainings: web-based training and instructor-led. And then, there are blended learning scenarios, which are a combination of both web-based and instructor-led training. To create instructor-led training courses, the ILT-Classroom app must first be activated. It can be found in the Apps and Features section of the sidebar on the left. The ILT-Classroom app is listed under the Additional features tab.

The app allows you to schedule and manage instructor-led live training sessions, and organize classrooms, locations, enrollments, and evaluations. It can also be used alongside the Learning Plan app to manage and schedule blended training sessions.

File Uploading and Converting

Docebo allows trainers to upload and share just about any type of training material, be that SCORM, Tin Can, PPT, PDF or video files. PDF, PPT, PPTX and ODP files can also be converted into slides or a sequence of snapshots without any need for a local download into the user’s computer. To convert a file into slides, create or select a new course. Click the Add Training Material button and select Slides Converter from the drop-down menu. Files can then be uploaded or dragged into the gray area. Conversion time depends on the number of slides needed for the presentation.

Some points to remember: SCORM packages are created with specific software and uploaded in ZIP format. Any type of video can be uploaded to a course, and Docebo automatically converts them into MP4 format.

Advanced Tracking and Reporting

“If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it.” This is a line you probably have already heard once or twice, a line believed to have been coined by management specialist Peter Drucker. There are some who don’t subscribe to this line of thinking, but in the online learning world, the best way to measure the success of a training material and how much of the training participants actually take away is through reports and analytics.

Docebo’s real-time tracking capabilities allow instructors and trainers to instantly understand which courses have already been completed, which students have passed which tests, how many students are yet to complete a particular course, and so on. Reports can be standard, summary or custom and can be exported as CSV or XLS files.

Powerful Integrations

Docebo employs an integration strategy that extends and expands native Docebo functionalities through third-party applications. Add-ons can either be free or paid and include the likes of WebEx, Adobe Connect and TeleSkill for web conferencing, WordPress, Drupal and Joomla for CMS (content management system), Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook for social media, and Vivocha for online customer interactions. These apps can easily be found and integrated with your custom LMS (learning management system) through Docebo’s apps marketplace.

Docebo also supports single sign-on (SSO) and single login functions with third-party applications. For example, your users can log in to your Docebo LMS via their Facebook accounts. Docebo can integrate with virtually any third-party software through its custom API (application programming interface). As well, it uses the SCORM standard and Tin Cap API for a more seamless LMS experience by both course creators and takers.

Course Marketplace and E-Commerce Functionalities

If you’re an instructor and would like to profit from the custom courses you create, Docebo’s e-commerce app allows you to do just that. To be able to sell your courses, first, you have to have a Docebo account. Next, you’ll need to activate the e-commerce app. Once activated, you can upload your courses and decide which ones to sell. You price your own courses, and all sales are yours 100%.

Courses on sale appear in the course marketplace with a green shopping cart icon on the upper-right hand. A learner interested in buying a course can scroll over the shopping cart icon to review the course’s description and price. Payments are made via PayPal and other payment gateways. Docebo also offers a transaction tracking tool which gives you insight into your sales numbers, including which users actually purchased your courses.

Integrations

To enhance the teaching and learning experience, Docebo can integrate with a variety of applications like Gmail, Google Apps and Google Analytics, CMS platforms like Joomla and WordPress, web conferencing applications like Adobe Connect, GoToMeeting, OnSync and WebEx, and social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Pricing

Docebo’s pricing scheme is based on monthly active users. This means any company can register as many users as they want but will only be billed for users who log in to the system during the 30-day billing period. Pricing starts at $230 per month for 50 active users. Each user exceeding the active user plan is priced at $5.90 each. If you opt for annual payment, you get two months off your bill, regardless of the subscription package you choose to avail.

The sales department can be contacted for plans exceeding 20,000 active users per month.

Bottom Line
