Candidate Sourcing

Lever’s gives every employee the chance to source and refer candidates to the organization without changing existing workflows. It turns the hiring process into a team sport and keeps relevant applicant data (like resume files and contact information) centralized in its web-based platform.

Using Lever’s Chrome extension, your employees can easily bring qualified talent to your attention. Once a candidate’s profile is discovered, it can be tracked and followed through the lifecycle of the hiring process. Additionally, Lever tracks where top candidates came from and reports on your top sources of qualified applicants so you know where to focus your resources during the next hiring spree.

Scheduling Interviews

Group interviews are notoriously challenging to schedule with traditional calendar systems, but Lever has found a way to bypass the most common struggles. Email calendar integration gives users a way to select interviewers, view availability, reserve conference rooms, and adjust for time zones automatically. The process is seamless for both the schedulers and the interviewee.

When you get ready to setup an applicant interview, open up the scheduling section of Lever and view each of your team members’ availabilities. The data is pulled directly from their work calendars. You choose the time, date, and location, and Lever will handle all follow-ups. The platform then pings every interviewer automatically to ask for their feedback on the candidate after the interview has taken place.

Email Syncing

Email sync is just one of the ways that Lever facilitates collaboration among team members. The platform gives users a straightforward way to review resumes, collect feedback, and move the candidates they believe would be most qualified for any position to the top of the pile. Teams that use Slack can also send notes straight to the platform.

Collaboration within Lever happens in a number of different ways. Including an @ sign before a coworkers name sends a quick message directly to the person’s inbox, and it’s often viewed as the fastest way to get feedback or loop someone in on a conversation. You can also use the Slack workflow, with a #channel in Lever to reach colleagues in Slack. One-click email syncing is another collaboration feature that lets you import correspondence with job applicants into the Lever platform.

Reports

Lever tracks all the recruiting metrics HR managers can imagine, and even some others they may not have thought about before. Rather than relying on anecdotal information to make hiring decisions, Lever arms companies with the metrics that really matter when selecting the best person for any position.

Lever’s recruiting reports include conversion rates and interview calibration. You’ll be able to see how many candidates moved through the hiring pipeline and what percentage of those candidates were hired by your organization. Candidate-level data lets you see the name, status, and origin of every applicant. You can further analyze all this data by exporting it to a spreadsheet or using Lever’s API.

Overall, the data is great, the integration is awesome, and the reports that management can use to track applicant data through the entire on-boarding life cycle is awesome.

Pros

The program leverages 3rd party applications to integrate data from your VOIP phone or Outlook and parses directly into a specific profile. It creates great data to go back and review when working with candidates, clients, managers, HR teams, etc.

Cons

The tool is great, but if I had to pick one thing about the tool I like the least, I would say the user interface. It's very bland when it comes to the white screen, the great and light blue data.

- hard to customize certain processes - can't customize access for all employees - some features are unclear without explanation; help text sometimes doesn't provide clarity for the functionality - difficult to build future pipelines or "project folders" for future sourcing - agencies can't track their candidates in the tool (agency portal) so we have to manually keep them updated - overall management of everyone's Lever access -- experienced many bugs in the backend and reoccurring issues

Having used a number of large tier 1 systems which are clunky, unable to integrate with third parties (or make it difficult), it has taken some getting used to but I LOVE IT.

Pros

Our hiring managers jumped straight in with little to no training and are engaged in the recruitment process.

Cons

Manager dashboards do not provide the transparency required (based on what our business wants to see).

Navigating Lever is extremely easy, you can work with their support team to customize how you break down your candidate pipeline so that hiring managers in the field who don't fully understand recruiting or the interview process, can easily jump in and still know where to go and what to do.

Cons

It only pulls reports in lists of candidate info, would be nice if it gave me exportable hard numbers.

Great tool to support with hiring in a scale-up phase

My company is going through an exciting scale-up stage and to support the company with hiring efforts we decided to modernize our recruitment stack.

Pros

Lever has all of the features we were looking for - an easy to set up careers page, configurable roles and permissions, feedback forms, communication templates, customizable steps in the interview process, scheduling, referrals, internal applications management and a very powerful customizable analytics dashboard.

Cons

Not a big issue, however worth mentioning: i)my previous ATS had a mobile app I used on a daily basis - Lever doesn't have one ii) there's no local support in Europe which leads to either asynchronous communication per email or meetings that can take place late afternoon only.

It's such a collaborative tool and hiring managers have had an easy time getting up to speed with it.

Pros

The Chrome, Google, and Slack integrations make scheduling and follow up with hiring managers so seamless. The UI is very easy to navigate and with Lever nurture it helps to avoid the "black hole" of candidate management.

Cons

The agency management feature leaves something to be desired, but from what I understand they are working on that feature and it hopefully will be improved shortly

When we screened other ATS vendors, before making the choice to partner with Lever, we sensed that Lever was the best team & had the best product on the market. Now that we've been using Lever for more than 8 months, I am confident it was the best choice, and they've been exceeded our expectations so many times!

Pros

They provide almost real-time support, are very efficient, and always friendly!

Cons

Almost no access to reporting for recruiters, only 'admin' roles can access reporting, which had lead us to open the role "admin" to more people than what we initially wanted to.

For an international company, Lever is a great help as we have been able to automate a lot of steps (interview scheduling, job offer,) in our recruitment process as well as to monitor the recruitment activity across countries (by pulling the records of activity).

Cons

The time difference with customer support for Europe based companies and the possibility to personalise the information we want to pull in the reports would be a plus.

Wanted so badly to love Lever

I wish their customer support was better and that they had a mobile app. Compared to other ATS's out there, it's one of the better ones, though.

Pros

Lever is very easy to use and has a nice UI. I really love the Nurture feature which allows me to send emails on behalf of my colleagues.

Cons

The reporting UI leaves a lot to be desired, and there also isn't a snapshot of all candidates in one place.
