QuickBooks Time vs Calamari Comparison

The Paid Time Off / Leave tracking is very intuitive, easy to use, and one of the better products that I have found for this job.

The TimeClock feature could use some improvements. Running reports, and exporting them for entering them into a payroll system could be easier. Maybe make these reports compatible with Quickbooks, Peachtree, and other common payroll systems.

Simple to manage and maintain with good API's. It takes no time to manage once configured and users find it simple to request leave.

Initial config could be a little clearer some of the options can be confusing on first use, that said i dont work in HR so it might be clearer to someone in this role

Super easy to use, love the integrations. Having it link up to our calendar and slack has saved do much time!

Some of the configurations( flow/approval) are not intuitive and I wish the reporting was a little easier to run( I would love a report that JUST showed name # of PTo, # sick, # Remote)

A learning curve when setting it up. We are located in the US so if we needed support, sometimes there was a wait due to the time difference.

Ease of use, accessibility for different levels of users, support in setup, and affordability. Email notifications in real time means not having to stay in Calamari to be prompted for approvals or notified of changes.

time delay in showing updates to a shared calendar in outlook without manually re-adding the calendar each time.

Poor integration with real calendars - should be receiving all day event invites blocking time in calendar on time off acceptance

Thank you very much for your feedback! Indeed, the iCalendar subscription works by synchronizing requests made in Calamari with an external, separate calendar. However, each time an employee receives the notification of approved leave, they can add the request to their private calendar via a .ics attachment. It takes a little time to get configured but the Calamari team is quick to help with the process and helps implement specific features and requests immediately.

Calamari is just a great way to do something simple - manage holidays. Remote work, sick days, holidays, all of it is just thrown into calamari so you can monitor who is where.

There's not much I don't like about Calamari - I guess one thing is that it seems to respond slowly from time to time!

I like the simple and elegant UI, it integrated to Google Suite and Slack with ease. My colleagues giggled about the name and had no idea what I was talking about at first. The designers liked the logo. Awesome customer service!

It doesn't seem to show true YTD absences, only all approved (which can be in the future). But they seem to constantly roll out updates, so I'm sure it will be possible in the next month or so.

The name of the product; Client support, tracking of time & absences

Possibility to generate a global, printable plan of weekly/monthly presence in the office or in electronic version which could be showed on a screen. Automatic, proportional calculation of holidays when an Employee is ending the contract in the middle of the year. Option to see if the holiday taken is from current or old stock.

The software is very flexible with regards to being able to track a variety of leave methods. We have different people at different levels of the company who get various entitlements and Calamari was able to handle it all. We also are able to track our business travel of our sales managers through the system which is helpful too.

The app is fairly easy, but the user interface could be a bit easier for users who are not as computer savvy. It could be a little more clear on what time they have less what time is scheduled for their net time leftover.

Simple and easy way to track daily time for each employee without the need to track time based on projects (micro-management). It took less than 48 hours to install set up all the structure. The overview for the holiday and PTO is also perfect and helps a lot everyone to schedule is time-off/holiday.

You need to understand the way that the platform is working to use it at his full potential. Missing a connexion with the Calamari Agenda and our Mac Agenda. So far, we need to update manually our booking calendar and the Calamari calendar.

We like the ease of use of the software, customer service for set up and any other items, tracking of requests, calendar feature, emails on time off request, cost.

It has work out great no Con's. If we had any issues we call customer service and they have fixed any bugs.

when you have issue with connection it tends not to clock out you or counts time as double.

The self-service time off request functions are great. It's very easy to approve or decline leave from any device. Workflows and communication and calendar integration are good too.

I would like it if there were more Google Workspace integration, like with Google Sheets, so that we can create live leave dashboards & reports that fit our existing workflows and work styles.

It's simple. Other things that I looked at had too many features that I'd never use

Calendar should be easier to use when requesting time off

Connection with slack, I can see who is absent or on holiday.

I can't see the time that remains to end job.

No excessive service but focusing on time recording with simple and easy interface

Sign in is a bit slow especially for the people working with poor network connection

Hello! Thank you for your opinion. In Calamari, we work hard to make our software simple and intuitive. Our team is constantly developing new features and improving software performance to speed up Calamari app.

As an office assistant, I was also tasked to keep track of our team’s presence for meetings, team building events, company assemblies, office seminars and other company official get-togethers. Calamari helped me track attendance and time in and out of everyone part of the team. I have also suggested this software to our HR officer for tracking leaves, absences and others. The software is easily learned and easy to navigate. Integrations are possible with some other software which makes it easier to monitor attendance.

Not much to complain about at this point in time.

Ease of usage, I’m able to request vacation time for approval as well as see who is not at work. I liked a lot slack integration.

Maybe it was our setup but calamari reported vacations on Saturday and Sunday.

I like that this program works across multiple countries and allows you to customize so much. Not every feature that we need has been able to be accommodated, but the Customer Service team has gone ABOVE and beyond to help us get to where we need to be or make suggestions to get it close.

Some functionality changes can take time, but that is a given.
