Work Summary

Sapience serves as a mirror for an employee’s work, showing their work start and end times, total time on work, and distribution of work across various activities. This can be utilized for more mindful work, by optimizing time spent on meetings and emails through best practices, ensuring focused effort on critical tasks, and limiting unnecessary non-work browsing and breaks. The objective is to deliver best possible effort while working, thereby freeing up more time to be with family and at home.

One of the best features of Sapience is its ability to protect employee privacy. When personal activity is conducted on a PC, a user’s activity is intelligently disregarded, increasing the employee’s comfort level with having the app run in the background. There are other measures available for companies to restrict or even block visibility about the employee’s work data.

Flow Time

Through Flow Time, a user can view the entire day as a continuum of time on work and non-work, breaks taken from the computer, and time allocation to various activities and applications.

Flow Time also shows how much uninterrupted time was spent on a specific activity. The Flow Time can help employees to work towards 2-3 stretches of highly focused work during office hours.

Sapience Key Features for Managers

Through a web based server application, managers can view data for an entire team. They can view trends related to time on Work, Activities and Applications on a Daily, Weekly or Monthly basis. This enables them to guide their team towards more effective effort, and review if the trends show improvement.

The Activity and Application views, for example, show the average time spent by each team member on specific activities. These can include engineering, documentation, web browsing, and using boxed software products like Microsoft Office or Adobe Photoshop. A side benefit is that the IT staff can track actual software license usage compared to purchased licenses, and also whether any unauthorized apps and software are being used.

Workload

Managers can assess capacity utilization in various groups, and optimize work allocation. More headcount can be allocated to teams with high workload from those with relatively less work. It becomes easier to ensure that headcount is assigned to match strategic goals of the company.

Reporting

Sapience allows businesses to pull reports on team and optionally employee work related activities. This data can be exported to an Excel spreadsheet for printing and emailing to others.

Managers can compile reports on an entire group reporting to them, or drill down to specific teams, and optionally individuals.

Automated timesheets, wherein a breakdown of time spent by each team member on projects and activities, can be generated, which each user can verify and then send for further approval.

Employee Monitoring

From time to time, a manager has a need to gain insight into how a specific employee is working each day. This insight could help with performance reviews or simply help a supervisor learn more about an employee’s workload.

If a supervisor seeks to learn more about how much time is being dedicated to a specific duty, that can be chosen in the daily effort area. Supervisors can also pull data on how much time a user spends online and offline each day.

Not recommend for any company untill you are facing issues of employees time management

Demotivational app

Management has installed it to keep track of hours but it is rather leading to discomfort and less trusted environment.

Pros

Only good thing is you can see how much time you took on any particular activity/task
