Covers everything!

Pros

This was one of my favorite programs that I've worked with. Practically everything you need all in one spot, and so easy to use! Great customer service, and plenty of tools to get you to where you need to be.

Cons

It's expensive! Some of the features we wanted needed to be "added on" which just cost more. I wish it was cheaper!

Overall it has been a good experience and a good value for the price.

Pros

We are a small firm (10 employees), so we did not need a robust system to manage our current payroll. We were looking for something which would grow with us, so we wouldn't need to change systems. Paylocity offers many tools which we are not currently using, but will need in the future. It is very easy to run Payroll, Customer Service is timely in their responses and keeping the customer updated if an issue takes a little more time to resolve.

Cons

The connection to our financial software system, QuickBooks Online, is not intuitive. Even after a year and a half of using Paylocity, the connection is still not set up properly because the heavy lifting is done by the user. It would be helpful if Paylocity would take a more active role in setting up the link.

We switched from TAG Payroll Services to Paylocity.

Pros

In our HVAC & Plumbing company, as we continued to expand and grow, we switched from TAG Payroll Services to Paylocity. The main Pro truthfully is that the cost was cheaper to manage our company. Another bonus is that the way that a paycheck is broken down and displayed is quite aesthetic--it's big, bold, colorful, and easy to read.

Cons

With the switch from Tag Payroll Services to Paylocity, the one function I do miss is the employee birthday calendar. It might sound silly, but I think it built a lot of comradery to be able to see whose birthday it was that week in the building. Minor grievance, but nothing we can't live without. Also sometimes the log in feature seems buggy--the password is inputted correctly, but the login doesn't take it.

Paylocity - A friend to Small Businesses

After running through the large payroll companies with their lack of customer support and their high pricing, Paylocity has been a breath of fresh air for my small business. Paylocity gets right what the large payroll companies get wrong, repeatedly.

Pros

This software is not only user friendly, it's effective, cost efficient and the customer support is outstanding.

Cons

There's nothing I don't like about Paylocity. It's a fantastic product.

Many Excellent Features - More Than I Need

The program does the job for me, but I wish there was a simpler version. Cheaper would be nice, too. Your customer service is excellent, and that means a great deal to me.

Pros

Now that I am used to it, I can submit Payroll pretty smoothly.

Cons

I needed a simple solution, and Paylocity is more complicated than I hoped. It has so many features I do not need.

Flexible and scalable - lots of features available, but simple to use if you don't want all the features

Pros

There is a lot of flexibility for customizing the system to our needs. After the initial learning curve, it is super simple to make changes on the fly... add earnings codes, set up new departments, etc. I also really like the employee Self-Service Portal - I can customize what an employee can view & even add external links (useful for benefits enrollment). With the onboarding module & ability to upload employee documents, we now have virtual employee files! The price is very competitive with our last providers price, but the value is FAR GREATER!

Cons

Not sure this is a con, but if you don't like a self-service model, I'm not sure what the phone support is like. I've found the online resources to be very helpful and I like figuring things out on my own, so this is the perfect fit for me!

Incompetent Implementation team

The Paylocity implementation was very frustrating and stressful.. Still ongoing.

Pros

Paylocity appeared to meet all our HR needs at a reasonable price. Sales pitch was very well organized.

Cons

Highly cumbersome payroll processing. Each add'l module was configured with errors by Paylocity. For example, Onboarding, Time & Labor, PTO, Performance Management, etc. is implemented and set by a different person. NOT one single person set anything up accurately per instructions provided. Very difficult to check their entries for quality, because reports are misleading and their software configuration fields have odd names and labels with no explanation. They would communicate that it was complete, but would happen upon things that not complete. For example, they set up PTO accruals as 1.25 hours per month instead of 1.25 Days per month. This is one of many examples. Lack of quality checks by their team.

As I mentioned in the pros is that there are several ways to use the system. It would be great if they provided their clients with best practices of how to use the different functionalities to ensure their customers are getting the most value out of the system. The price point is good compared to many other systems. They just have some things to work on.

Pros

It is an open ended system which is great as it can integrate with several other systems. It has a lot of functionality which you can cater to your individual needs for the most part.

Cons

Customer service is okay. The response time is good the problem is the reps that you talk to seem to only be an expert in one area and their knowledge does not cross functions.

Extremely limited software

Very, very slow response times - their client solution is to watch their webinars. I would never recommend this software to anyone

visually simplistic - it is a very reasonably priced system but it lacks the key features you need in a HRIS

Cons

Extremely minimal customer support - no direct phone number to a client service team - NO direct email account to a customer service - when system is down for maintenance they don't send out emails to clients when the system will be up or not - they self admit when you call in there are not set up to email clients - no way to make notes in the system within an employee record. This is fine for ONLY payroll but it is promoted as a HRIS too and it is not.

Solid Payroll Platform for Small to Medium Size Businesses

If you are a small to medium size business, this could be a great vendor for you. However, if you predict growing to a large enterprise level company down the road, it may be best to consider other vendors who can scale with you. In our experience, we outgrew Paylocity's functionality, and its system limitations caused us to move to another vendor. That is not to the fault of Paylocity however; I'm sure Facebook doesn't use Quickbooks!

Pros

Payroll platform is fairly robust compared to other systems targeting the small/medium size business demographic. Customer support and Reporting Suite is above average. I never had any problems with working with them at a company with around 150 employees. Cloud-based system is fast and nimble. Year end process was fairly painless. Can handle high-frequency payroll (we process weekly). Low processing time from pay period end to payday (Next day). Pricing is competitive!

Cons

The software is comprised as modules. Not an all in one solution out of the box. We utilized the HRIS and Payroll modules of Paylocity. I prefered the Payroll system over the HRIS, which seemed to be more of an afterthought. Implementation and support quality is not the best I've seen compared to other vendors. We ultimately transitioned to a larger payroll vendor with more robust functionality once our company grew to about 250 employees and do not regret it.

Overall the customer support is one of the best I ever dealt with.

Pros

all the features for the price...I can post jobs, manage applicants, onboard them, and move them to Payroll with one system...

Cons

The employee training and compliance training is lacking and I don't appreciate them charging a price for these features that seem to me should be included.

It has been a few years since I have used but it seemed outdated even at that time. I would say it is not that great for high volume or large businesses, at least the version we used.

Great Payroll and HR Software!

Easy to use Time Saver More accurate and on time payroll The report features allow us to visually see what we were unable to see previously

Pros

Web Pay by Paylocity has been fantastic for us! We were previously using Time Force, and cannot believe how much time and money we have saved since making this switch. This software is extremely user friendly and has given our employees better access to manage their time off requests as well as manage their payroll. This software also comes with great reporting tools. Easy customization.

Cons

We are still learning all of the tools this software has to offer. So far we have not found any notable cons, other than the price of the software. The price of this software more than pays for itself with the time it saves, and the accuracy it provides.

Highly Recommend

Overall, I've been really really with Paylocity. I think they've done a really fantastic job updating the system for COVID related issues such as FFCRA, ERC, etc. For that, I am very very very thankful.

Pros

The customer service is really great. I am able to call my dedicated service person any day of the week and they know me and my needs. If my dedicated service person is ever unavailable, then the other reps i contact are very helpful as well.... you don't see this with every HRIS system. They also seem to care about our requests for system improvements which I think is critical. I find this...

Cons

The modules i am not using like applicant tracking, recruitment, onboarding, benefits management, etc. aren't really built out enough to make them worth the high price. I still have to use other software for all of those services because i've found better vendors that do most of what i need and they aren't as expensive as the Paylocity add-on. It's too bad, because I'd really like to use one system for everything. Upper management is not accessible which is disappointing. There is no way to add volunteers and independent contractors into the HRISI system for free - this is usually available from HRIS systems.

OVERALL, I'M MORE THAN HAPPY WITH THIS PROGRAM AND HAVE RECOMMENDED IT TO SEVERAL COMPANIES.

Pros

TIME & ATTENDANCE, EASY PAYROLL PROCESS, EASY EMPLOYEE SET UP. IMPLEMENTATION WAS EASY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALWAYS QUICK, FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. PRICED LESS MY FORMER PROGRAM. I LIKE THAT ALL MY TAXES AND GARNISHMENTS ARE PAID DIRECTLY AS WELL.

I DON'T THINK THAT REPORT BUILDING IS QUITE AS SIMPLE AS REYNOLDS BUT IT IS BETTER THAN CDK

Pros

Price is highly competitive and the software functions well. Help screens are useful and easy to get too. Payroll submission is quick and consistently accurate. support is knowledgeable but see below. Overall a good experience for small to medium companies concerned about the bottom line.

Cons

Thought you get a dedicated customer service person you are highly unlikely to ever get directly to them. You will be offered the option of leaving a message for a call back or be transferred to other support staff. So in reality you talk to a different person each time. this is offset somewhat by the generally good support. some screens are not highly intuitive but easily learn able. One small irritant for me is that if you want the paper copies of your checks to come iin sealed rather than unsealed envelopes it is ten cents a check. Talk about nickel and dimeing..

Paylocity Review

Overall we've had a good experience with Paylocity and we are not looking to move away from this anytime soon. The onboarding process is great. Prior to Paylocity, new hires were filling out paper forms and we had someone in HR inputting all of the information manually.

Pros

Integration with our 401(k), UI, affordability, ability to upload company documents for reference and the onboarding process.

Cons

The reporting features aren't as user friendly as other databases we've used.

Pros

Very, very user friendly. All information for employees are all together and information can be accessed from different views. This system is absolutely amazing.

Cons

There is nothing that I don't like about Paylocity. The one thing I wish they had was a function where I could copy timecards from one person to the next but because everything else is amazing, that's just a small price to pay for perfection.

Your One Stop Shop for Payroll and Everything else related to HR

Overall, I'm very happy with choosing to use WebPay from Paylocity as our main payroll tool.

Pros

We were able to completely customize our Paylocity instance for our business needs - which are unique and varied. You get partnered with a team member at Paylocity that helps you build out the tool and trains you on how to use it. Plus, all of this was available at a price point that was comparable to payroll software that does a lot less.

Cons

It is somewhat difficult to use for both admins and users. It doesn't have a simple/easy to understand interface.
