I hear it is cheap. that is good because that is the only thing positive about this garbage product.

Pros
When ever thing is working right the program functions as expected.

Cons
It seldom works properly. There are zero work around and if someone else doesn't do something you are dead in the water with being able to hire a candidate. It slowed our internal process greatly. And ever person has different access so you helping someone else and them helping you is a nightmare.

Workday finance/HR manager/scheduler works well for my business (small <50 employees).

Used daily for 6-12 months

A little expensive but WELL worth the cost - the ROI will more than satisfy you.

Pros
As a SBO, I need to get the scheduling and manage various changes (such as people getting injured or ill or on Family Leave). Workday provides this for me and my lead staff members. It aligns the financial performance with the HR (people) performance, giving you a broad view of your organizational performance. The reports can be up to the minute when thing get tight or quarters are ending, or you have that meeting with your investors/board. Support team is excellent.

Cons
It is a steeper financial investment for a small business owner, but the benefits will surprise you.

Pros
This tool is head and shoulders above any other performance tracking tool that I have used. Setting goals and tracking your performance against them is very easy. The UI is extremely clean and pleasant to look at. A big upgrade from the system my company previously used.

Cons
I honestly cannot think of any cons for this software. It has never caused me any headache. I have heard from my higher-ups that it is expensive, but I do not know the pricing details.

Pros
Workday has a lot of features and uses. We ran almost everything through it from personnel data, time tracking, reviews, forms and more. The possibilities are endless.

Cons
The backend of setting up certain features can be a bit cumbersome. Takes several people long hours to maintain and manage system.

‘A platform for employees to speak-up’

Used occasionally for 1-2 years
Reviewed 2019-04-16
Review Source: Capterra

comparatively, ‘workday’ is an efficient, effective and affordable system for an above average organization.

Pros
Many companies lose their talented employees due to failures by the top management to recognize the contributions made by certain employees for the growth of the organization, which goes unnoticed by the hierarchy which creates a negative opinion towards the management by those employees. HCM tool makes a positive impact as a go-between the employee and management and WORKDAY has made substantial developments with this regard. ‘Workday’ HCM has given the employees all the freedom to put on record their contributions/ achievements, goals, training requirements, etc which has almost totally brought to halt human ignorance/negligence of appraisers during evaluations and give due recognition to each employee according to the employee value to the company. ‘Workday’ has many features that help both the management and employees to know each other better and make justifiable decisions. With an advanced HCM such as ‘workday’, it is not only the HR head, but the whole top management is aware of the positives and negatives of the members of the organization which strengthens the transparency of the decision makers. With ‘workday’, the management doesn’t need to wait till the due period for performance appraisals, but identify ‘real-time’ the value of certain talents and apply sensible decisions to recognize such employees. ‘workday’ comes with an attractive UI which is a pleasing plus point. Additionally, it supports multiple devices which are useful on the go.

Cons
so many beneficial features are incorporated in the system that it takes a fairly big effort to familiarize. As this is a HR centered software with access to each member, we find difficulties in getting the full potential due to cultural diversities by way of language barriers (non-English speakers).

Cumbersome and Complicated

Its been a frustrating experience overall. I'm sure it would work fine at a large company that can afford all the ancillary staff and consultants fees, but for a mid-sized company its too unwieldy to justify its cost

Pros
The settlement process includes automatically sending the ACH file to the bank as well as paying state and federal taxes. So that is convenient

Cons
Its very bulky, meaning it isn't built to be nimble or flexible. There are pretty severer limitations to how deductions can be set up (ex no deductions with goal amounts). Handling employees with multiple positions has been a problem area.

We used Work Day to manage all of our payroll, employee benefits etc. It was an easy interface to have access to all of your work related information in regards to benefits and pay.

Pros
It is visually set up in a way that makes it very easy to navigate. You can find all of the information you need very easily. I did not have an experience with the customer support portion of the program. I am also not aware of the cost, to know if it is of good value, but overall is a good product.

Cons
I felt like the scheduling module could have been easier to use. It seems that you have submitted leave requests, but there are additional steps needed.

I really like this program and think it is easy to use and has good info to share about pay for lowes employees.

Pros
Lowes recently changed the program to Workday from oracle. I will miss the old program however Workday is very nice compared to the old one. You have the ability to check so many things on here such as increase in pay taxes and much more which is very nice.

Cons
The one thing that I don't really like is the fact that I can't check the paycheck in a pdf viewer which is something that I like doing because I can back it up on my computer to save for later dates. However we do not have that ability on workday.

What I liked about the software upfront was running payroll the way I wanted to run it. This software also helps you stay in compliance with the every changing federal laws.

Pros
I like that once everything is set up, it is easy to use. Its like payroll/human resources in one and helps cut down on time spent doing certain payroll activities.

Cons
Cost is always a con but for certain software, I do not mind paying a cost but your company should be prepared to pay a higher than normal cost.

Excellent product to use for HCM, if the appropriate support model is in place for your organization.

Inadequate training, lack of internal SME resources, and an absence of a true guided vision/direction by leadership will result in an expensive and poorly received system. As such, an organization will be reliant on implementation partners or independents as consultants, supporting or re-implementing a failed system, which will be even more expensive.

Pros
Workday is leading edge technology and highly configurable. The UI is best in class. Integrations with most 3rd party systems are easy to configure and the delivered packaged integrations are superb.

Cons
An organization needs to ensure proper internal support for the system to function smoothly. Training and user adoption/communication is also key for acceptance. An organization must have the SME talent in-house to be successful.

It provides the basics in a stable platform, but it's still very basic due to our need to control costs and not customize it for our needs as much.

Pros
Offered as a SaaS solution for our needs. This off-loaded much of the management aspects from our internal IT team for focusing on other business initiatives.

Cons
Every little aspect appears to have an "add-on" price in order to make it work better for users. There are ways to use additional features, but it requires users to "search" for various reports and processes rather than being able to select from the main menu of options. Not very user friendly.

Performance Management

It's a little confusing at first, but once you get it down you see the value in it.

Pros
The software does address everything necessary for performance reviews and keeping tabs on employees and making goals for them so it's well documented. It lays things out in order as to not miss anything. There are good step by step instructions if you don't understand something.

Cons
When you finish putting in data, you click done and think it's done, but then it ask again if you want to submit. I noticed with myself and other managers is you think you've completed something and you leave the screen and you later learn it didn't submit because it's asking you to submit after you click done. It's a little redundant.

Workday keeps recruiting organized for large organizations

Used daily for less than 6 months
Reviewed 2018-12-19
Review Source: Capterra

Pros
I recently worked with a client to switch their ATS over to Workday. We spent a week testing and learning about the system from a Workday representative. I feel like Workday keeps requisitions quite organized and also streamlines the approval process for new job requisitions. It allows hiring managers to initiate the recruitment process and ensure that HR is putting through the appropriate approvals along the way. It's also nice that you can create offer letters within Workday once an offer has gone out. I may not use this if I was recruiting for a small organization (it's expensive and there's more intuitive options out there), but do see the value for a large enterprise.

Cons
The user interface could be a lot better - I think they could re-make it to have recruiters in mind. I feel like it is difficult to see the workflow in Workday compared to other applicant tracking systems I have used.

Workday is only good if you have an HRIT team

Workday is a big system and not for a small Company. They are also expensive and use a ticketing customer service model so you can't just pick up the phone and call when you have an issue. Once you do put in a ticket it is a 24-72 hour turnaround before they even call back. They also charge by the hour for the service. If you want to make any changes to it, you have to be able to code at a certain level and then again, they charge you for everything. Including setting up Open Enrollment for Benefits to setting up Performance Management.

Pros
Once it is up and running it is sophisticated.

Cons
Too expensive for smaller company and too difficult to understand at first.

Cons
At the beginning, the implementation and learning of the system can be a bit overwhelming. The software has a lot of features and tools that for the average end-user will require some time to learn and potentially even some training. There's definitely a learning curve.
