Kronos WFR is Amazing

Reviewed 3 years ago

One of the things Kronos worked hard with us was to get our Weighted Average Overtime process set-up. We are semi-monthly payroll and this sometimes creates some issues. Kronos worked with us determined to find a way to make this work and they didn't stop until it was resolved. We also do a Allocation report and Kronos Support help us get a report put together to pull out our monthly allocation...

Pros

We have been with Kronos family since around 2000. In 2015 we transition from Kronos Central to Kronos Workforce Ready. During the time with Workforce Ready, I enjoy how they are constantly changing and updating to stay up on current trends. The best part is that with all the changes, we are able to update and move to the new functions without any issues. If there is something we are not sure of, a request for support is available with a knowledgably support tech to help us get to the next level. Kronos Workforce Ready is able to keep us up to date with the latest technology trends and required reporting. Creating reports and pulling information has never been easier. Basically I have found that whatever I think of, Kronos can do it.

Cons

We were one of the first jumping on board with Kronos Workforce Ready in 2014 when things really started taking off for this program. So our implementation was a little stressful, but Kronos listen to us and has worked hard to resolve the early implementation issues. Support has improved and it is more than support when they are called they are full of suggestions to help improve processes that are used.

Big Company Technology - Small Family Feel

Reviewed 5 years ago

As a new user of Kronos - I have been impressed with the value placed on customer service and community support. Workforce Ready is a newer platform and as with all changes, there are a few glitches; however, the tech support and responsiveness makes you feel as though the system issues are minor and worth it. Every single time we call for assistance, the experience is helpful rather than stressful....

Pros

PEOPLE! Software is available and mostly similar - we have a lot of choices in HRIS/Payroll systems, so how you treat your customers is the most important factor in being better. Kronos has this in spades!!

Cons

Benefit plan set up isn't ideal - I need to be able to put in an effective date AND an enrollment date, as they are not the same thing. If my employees don't elect their benefits before the "waiting period" the "New Enrollment" radio button disappears. An employee's waiting period and eligibility dates do not match their election period. I'd like the opportunity to select the different options.

Kronos Workforce Ready is the best timekeeping system I have ever used

Reviewed 5 years ago

Not only is the payroll system a well oiled machine, the HR module turned out to be better than we could have hoped for or expect. So much of the manual tasks that either Payroll or HR would perform are now automated. Kronos has really been a blessing and the price for a product of this quality is incomparable to other products on the market (which were thoroughly researched before deciding on Kronos).

Pros

My duties have come down to literally pushing a few buttons to generate a bi-weekly payroll for 200 hospital workers. The reporting functions are endless, in addition to the already prepared reports within the system, it is extremely easy to build your own and have the exact information you want to see on a report. I am able to do the quarterly reports in about 10 minutes (including submission to...

Bobby's Likes and Dislikes

Reviewed 3 years ago

Kronos did most of what we needed it to do. The biggest issue we had was the fact they over-promised the capabilities of what Kronos could do. After signing our contract and committing to the software, we found out it couldn't do the accounting we needed it to do, so we had to invest in a separate software to handle our accounting issues. Then we found out the onboarding didn't work the way we needed it to, so we had to invest in another software for it. Then it wouldn't communicate with our new accounting software, so we had to invest in yet another software. So all in all, the cost became to much.

Pros

I love how simple it is to export the data. I also love the many options of exports it's capable of doing.

Cons

The reporting systems are very complicated to work with. Most of the reports I had to create couldn't be done in Kronos. I had to export the data to excel and create the reports from excel.

My Kronos Experience

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall I think I remain very neutral in it all. There are many aspects of Kronos I like, as it has reduced some of our inefficiency's, but at the same time it has added some new ones as well. We decided to do a slow transition, region by region, and it seems to be working well for us.

Pros

Coming from using Workday - we like Kronos for many of its simple access tasks. We like how easy it is to search/find an employee, we like how the system has allowed us to combine our HR system with out payroll system. We have grown to also like the applicant tracking side, it has been a nice transition from using ICIMS.

Cons

The transitioning from our old systems to Kronos has been a bit of a struggle. We had a very low grade implementation team at the start of go live for us and eventually we had the entire team re-spun with new people. It was difficult enough for us to be concerned with transitioning systems let alone our implementation team changing entirely. We were promised many efficiency's to eliminate old inefficiency's and very little of that has actually happened.

Buyer's remorse - However I will update review in 6 months. My view may change.

Reviewed 3 years ago

100% of our admin staff working with the new Kronos system is unhappy with it. We all agree that it seems like it is too complicated. We came from PayCom and it was soooooooooo intutive. So straight forward. And much cheaper. Kronos needs to come up with 5-8 templates that are a basic look for how the build-out would look. I think when they try to be all things to all clients they end up being overly complicated. They need to reduce 80% of the options. In hindsight we should have purchased a simpler system.

Pros

The potential is what I like most. The demo team from Kronos, during our research phase, far outshined the competition on how Kronos would make our lives better. However, that is not the case in reality. I will update this review in 6 months to see is this is improving. Customer service is trying to help. But literally every day is a struggle.

Cons

* Too many options * Too many drop-downs * Too complicated * Can't drag and drop * The set-up process was entirely from scratch with no examples to go from, no best practices * NOT INTUTIVE in the slightest * Makes me sick to my stomach thinking we are stuck with this for at least the next 3-4 years * Company seems too large to be nimble * We invested well over 500 EE hours in set-up? Do you want your staff doing that? * I feel like we are at the programmers level, this barely seems like software from this decade * Customer serve gives off the vibe we should know more than we know

Tracking time, meeting company financial objectives

Pros

It saves the previous selections for the time-card rows, which makes it easier to enter time from one time period to the next. Also, it's Java-based and can, ostensibly, run on any platform.

Cons

1. EITHER the columns should auto-size to the larger of the field size and header size and not be sized equally to fit on the display area on the monitor OR it should "remember" the user's preferences when it comes to column size. 2. The pop-up windows (e.g. when looking up "Transfer"/project, entering start/end dates for reports) should open on the *same* screen where the "parent" window is. Having...

Worked great until we reached the Labor Level limit

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

The system provides an easy to use punch in/punch out process using bio-metric fingerprint scan, there are customize-able dashboards and reporting functions, and if you have a straightforward business model without the need to segregate costs into multiple Job Orders this is a great system.

Cons

The Workforce Ready terminals do not support barcode readers, you have to select everything from a list. They also don't display in the same way you have your Job Orders or Cost Centers setup, they only display as a list view, with some qualifiers for searching. If you need detailed job costing, there are a lot of additional steps required to set up and manage all the data, and there is no inherent...

New Workforce Ready User

Reviewed 6 years ago

We have been implementing Workforce Ready since August of 2016. We are doing a phased implementation of all the modules, so the process is still ongoing. Considering that we're still rather new to the system, we are starting to get more comfortable with the product. We've been on many other similar products with competitors and had issues, which caused us to look for other solutions after a few...

Pros

It's still a work in process but we have found many things that we do like about Workforce Ready: 1. Customization - This system offers you the ability to customize your screens down to the individual level, as well as creating customized screens for other types of users. So if you want your Managers to log in and see a Timekeeping dashboard with graphs, and your Employee to log in and see employee...

Cons

As we go through the implementation process there have been a few surprises and disappointments: 1. Reporting - Yes, this is a Pro as far as customization and easy list reporting, but I do wish they had a more complex reporting tool available as well. If you want to have subtotals, grand totals, averages, grouped reports, add in formulas, etc. it is not easy to do in the reporting tool itself and...

I had a great Implementation Person that made this huge transition for our company so much easier; without him I would have been lost! He took the time and really walked me through everything to make sure I understood the product completely.

Pros

Kronos Workforce Ready is easy to learn and navigate which makes it easier for me to teach coworkers how to use it! I also really love the Technical Support team they are always quick to get back to me whatever the issue at hand may be.

Cons

I love Kronos Workforce Ready it makes my job so much easier to use however, it is very expensive and I wish they charged per employee not by a rounded number.

Solid payroll, HR, and TLM package with great reporting features

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Kronos Workforce Ready is a truly customizable product, with very robust, customizable reporting tools and good payroll optimization. For mid-sized enterprises it is a solid, cloud-based all-in-one option. ACA reporting tool is great. Flexibility of tools is something we hope our managers and employees will grow into as they become accustomed to non-paper-based payroll.

Cons

Recruitment module and payroll module have weird glitches with tax, unemployment and workers' comp settings that make automation a little hit or miss with the forms; cost center editing is complicated. Global Support folks are very nice, but the depth of bench can vary, so if you find someone you like working with, try to stick with them as much as possible. Basic scheduling (without Scheduler module) is not useful.

Easy Payroll Processing

Reviewed 4 years ago

I wish that the tax report preparation was right in Kronos instead of BSI. It would be great if Kronos prepared the 941s and state tax forms each quarter.

Pros

I like the ease of payroll preparation and the interface between time & attendance, HR, and payroll. Once timesheets are approved and any employee maintenance is done, payroll is prepared with only a few keystrokes.

Cons

I like the reports, but sometimes there are important missing fields, such as Gross Wages YTD and a complicated formula must be done to get the value you want. But overall they are good reports.

Pros

An Expensive Letdown

Reviewed 4 years ago

Honestly, just go with ADP and pay more. At least they will be able to help you more with compliance. Kronos was such a letdown and the system looks so antiquated.

Pros

Kronos has some good report features and a lot of the onboarding documentation is easy to collect. You do have the benefit of being with a larger company so they have more customer service people, too, and they have people who specialize in certain areas to give you better help.

Cons

Oh, there are too many to count: - Their compliance features pale in comparison to ADP. They will say they can comply with all state-mandated sick-leave laws, but it requires so much manual work on the backend that you kind of wish you could just do it elsewhere. A huge pain if you operate in many states. - Their "customized fields" that they tell you about in an RFP just don't exist. Anything you...

Kronos WFR HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Kronos WFR has done a good job with integrating HR, Pay, and Time & attendance along with several other options. This cloud based solution has really eased the pain of upgrades, patches, and legislative updates. The real time updates and enhancements are a good savings of time and upgrade cost. The reporting functions in WFR is very flexible and easy to use. Navigation is straight forward

Cons

The configuration process for us was a challenge coming from WFC to WFR. The discovery process seems straight forward but how that is interpreted and configured doesn't always translate into what you may want to see. This product is very flexible in configuration of pay and time sheets so it is important you spend extra time really digging into how you want your environment configured. Knowledge transfer from the install group is key.

A Great Product with A+ Support

Reviewed 6 years ago

I highly recommend Kronos Workforce Ready to companies with a limited IT Department who need a fully functional HRIS. Prior to the purchase of Kronos Workforce Ready, our payroll processing was outsourced and what little HR information we had was either in paper files or length, inaccurate Excel spreadsheets. Kronos Workforce Ready provided the most robust functionality at the best cost of our size...

Pros

Kronos' Customer Support is perhaps the best I've ever worked with. They never failed to respond promptly. They followed up with us when we failed to respond promptly. At the end of every call they always open the conversation to any other questions we might have on any part of the software. They were happy to log into our system and review functionality we had enabled on our own and look for ways to streamline.

Cons

When we made the purchase, there were no integrations with other systems. We use an external Benefits provider so we have to manually enter enrollment information and updates.

Former Customer Kronos Review

Reviewed 3 years ago

Solved issues with time reporting. More accurate time entry. Bio-metric time clocks helped to prevent fraud and incorrect punching. Great software if you need all the payroll bells and whistles, but difficult to implement and expensive.

Pros

Data Extraction and Reporting Features. Lots of information available for export. Time Off Requesting was a good feature.

Cons

Difficult to implement. Had a very problematic setup. Took almost a year to get set up. Technical Support was slow to get back with you and software was expensive. Had to call and get a case number and wait 24 to 48 hours for tech support to call back. When payroll problems occur, usually need help asap. Very expensive. Did not use all payroll features, mainly exported time out to another payroll system. Very expensive for the limited use.

Solid and dependable platform with tremendous ROI

Reviewed 6 years ago

We demo'ed more systems than I could count in looking at the best choice for us. We narrowed it down to two and then took a very measured, thorough approach in our final analysis. WFR truly had the best "bang for the buck" of any system. The time-tested reliability of a Kronos product couldn't be ignored and the cost versus gained efficiency was undeniable. These characteristics also made the internal approval for the project very straight forward.

Pros

The system can support multiple, complex needs. The breadth and diversity of Kronos customers means they're already prepared for a lot of the needs we throw at them. This greatly eases our work in adapting and streamlining processes. The mobile platform is as good as any I've seen and the system's integration across modules is second to none.

Cons

Some administrative functions are not as intuitive as I'd like and I think the general navigation layout could be better designed. The function itself is sound but the execution of the function takes some learning.
