My overall experience after identifying them as our new web platform has been overwhelmingly positive. No regrets for moving over to them at all

Pros

Ease of use, ability to program events, registration, payments and email communications, as well as Member management.

Cons

Overall there should be an ability of a "Super User" to have more freedom creating reports Also a better export of data for my accountant from CE to QuickBooks On-line.

Financial management of member dues payments and organization event registration and fee payments via an event calendar. 5. Availability of version and a mobile app

Pros

Comprehensive integrated cloud based software for a custom public/private website, member database management, club and activities organization, communications, financial management with access to on-line, telephone, user manuals and webinar customer support.

Cons

We must resort to using Microsoft Publisher and uploading the pdfs to a ClubExpress document folder, creating a custom page with links to the newsletter documents making the newsletter available on our website.

Poor fit for Organizations that bill for member stored asstes or services

Worked fine for member management. After 10+ years we are leaving the product to install Sailing Club Manager a more industry specific tool

Pros

Nice contact management and mass emailing tools Nice storage of documents both member and public facing documents Nice calendaring tool Solid for clubs that look for any of the above

Cons

Clunky billing system that is not well integrated or intuitive particularly for non members that want to do simple store transactions like buy a meal, pay for sorage of a boat or camper with your organization No sign up genius like tool Convoluded way with custom fields to store member assets but no integration for billing, tracking of where those assets are on your grounds Integration into payment processing gateways not well integrated

Club Express has simplified everything for Volunteer non-profit club

For 7 years I use to be the only one that could send out email notifications due to having the master list in Access DB.

Pros

Membership management allows for auto renewal notices Emailing can be done by other club board members -- no more mail merge using Word/Excel Event calendar reminder for administrative tasks Document library is HUGE to gather key documents on the website and off my hard-drive!

Cons

Inconsistency in the fields provided for membership reports between Renewal Detail and a New Member.

The Great and Not So

As noted in the Cons above, we have been quite disappointed with event management (it is way too hard to configure and manage events especially when the majority of people interested in and attending such events are not actually formal members in the CE member database) and email communications for our audience of over 10,000 interested parties but not formal members.

Pros

We were able to configure not only the usual demographic information but could also create custom data elements to identify and track members who have formal voting rights for the business of the organization.

Cons

As we intended, we migrated our custom website and member management system, our third-party event management services, and our third-party email communication services all to ClubExpress.

Since ClubExpress, we've gone to email notification with the newsletter available online.

Pros

Ten years ago we had to use a paid third party to maintain our website.

Cons

As it is, all data collected for an event can be output to Word, Excel, CSV, and pdf.

"Village" Management & Communication - 1-stop Shop

We use Club Express for just about everything digital in running our Village except some non-bulk emails and telephone: membership, billing, website, bulk email, document storage, news reporting to members, committee communication, inquiry tracking, service and event management.

Pros

Software widely used, and thus fully vetted by hundreds of Villages. Designed for setup by clubs/ Villages who don't have resident HTML/ web expert.

Cons

Unintended results rarely but sometimes occur when multiple windows are open simultaneously.

Cons

I wish that the event calendar could be linked at a google calendar, you can click a button that says add to my calendar, but it doesn't allow the whole event calendar to be shown as a google calendar.

We depend on the event scheduling to create events that our members can signup for using the calendar. The attendance tracking is also essential.

Great for Clubs getting started

We were able to get our club up and running from a generic website to using the software to manage our renewals and membership quickly and so far efficiently.

The software is set up to support clubs from small to large so its a great way to get a club going or to take a club from just a website to a web presence and management platform.

Cons

Some of the canned reports are not what we need and ad-hoc reports are only available to admin's.

Due to the somewhat clunky interface, it is not always easy to figure how to do certain things, but we can still do most of what we need to do with ClubExpress.

I like the ability to track members and their status, divide them into subgroups, set up events and send emails to members based on their membership level.

Extensive capability including bundled e-commerce and strong reporting
