It is easy to write custom reports and use them for mailings. The import feature is also very easy to set up and use.

Pros

Combined event, volunteer and donor management solution.

Cons

Volunteer module doesn't fully integrate with the account module, especially when you are importing volunteers for the first time.

- how can any org look past the ability to survey their constituents via email and then have the responses post to the database? e.g.

But many board members and volunteers need to be reminded to access the url and it would be great if NEON would schedule the delivery of reports on an ongoing basis rather than the user having to schedule the delivery of the reports.

Thanks Mike! we appreciate your review! As for the ability to email reports out to board members, you can set up an account in NEON, create a recurring activity to have NEON email your board member with the dynamic report link on, for example, the first of the month every month.

And as for the comment about the BBaud buyout, no chance. :) We're in this for the long haul to create the best cloud based CRM for nonprofits and to ensure we offer it for less. Plus, NEON is built as an All-in-One platform that can house fundraising/donors, membership/members, events/registrants and track all of this in one system. Plus, our frontend connectivity to nonprofit's websites allows everything to funnel right into NEON automatically. Times are changing and there is no longer a need to spend so much for powerful software and IT staff to manage servers.

NeonCRM: A solid decade by need to move forward

We have grown from $150k to over $1M in fundraising, and NEON has supported that growth (although it is not able to make mass changes to old data as we have better understand/refine how we track donations).

Pros

Solid basic constituent and donation management. Reliable - service is rarely down or unacceptably slow.

Cons

Reporting, while flexible and seemingly comprehensive, often requires export and external manipulation to get what we want.

An intuitive platform that helps save time

Now, instead of using one platform for fundraising, another separate software for events, and a third for our store, everything is neatly packaged into one amazing database.

Pros

- Easy to use and understand - Amazing support staff - Regular updates to improve the product - Easy to set up with the help of Neon staff - Affordable - Custom reporting features are intuitive

Cons

- The fundraising dashboard isn't as customizable as I would like (i.e. you can feature campaigns, but you can't compare campaigns year over year on the dash) - I wish there was a way to manipulate some of the stock reports to get a better output for what we need

The configurations, customization and importing of previous data can be difficult for someone that isn't comfortable with new software, or someone who doesn't take time to read all the instructions.

Pros

Online database is secure; database and the application are organized in ways that make sense for how non-profits operate (fundraising, donations, membership); flexibility in features; customization available; statistics and reports that are available; customer service is knowledgeable and responsive; automation of many processes that were previously done manually in spreadsheets and word documents.

Cons

The ONLY thing that I wish Neon offered is a feature for the app.

Excellent database system that saves you time!

I'm receiving many compliments from alumni about the system. I'm receiving new donations through the online event forms that incorporate an opportunity to donate when purchasing a ticket.

Pros

Fundraising tools, multiple membership levels, membership directory with photos, event management, e-communication tools , templates, reports, volunteer and committee tracking, system emails, system letters, forms, surveys, multiple payment gateways, campaigns, integrates with QuickBooks, MailChimp, and more!

Cons

Takes a while to learn how it works to take fully advantage of all of the features. Membership Directory needs a facelift. Selecting addresses for printing labels is tricky.

Close to everything I want, but not quite there.

It is convenient having an all in one nonprofit CRM rather than using multiple services (like Excel, DonorPerfect, MailChimp, etc.)

Pros

NeonCRM bundles together database management, email communications, event registration, and membership payments.

Cons

There are small annoyances like not being able to use the 'enter' key to submit search queries and larger issues like not being able to use custom membership forms for individual or household memberships (only business memberships).

As a smaller nonprofit, it has been manageable to deal with our data, but I think if we had a bigger database, implementation would've been hard to manage

Pros

-We purchased a website from Neon as well as the CRM, so we like that everything is integrated and that our forms are branded with the website -Easy data entry -Relatively easy import manager -Manage duplicates easily -Reporting is relatively strong

Cons

- I wish the implementation team worked more with me on best practices on using the system (how to properly track prospects, how to deal with event RSVPs) -I didn't find the Webinar series that comes with implementation very helpful - I thought it brought up more questions -Not having the Live Chat feature makes work sometimes slow because I have to wait for my ticket to be responded to -Dealing with email audiences can be difficult given the searches, can end up in a lot of data entry and when you export the email audience you can't get all the info from the constituent which makes it hard to sort

Overall, this is a great product and our organization has even grabbed the attention of our partners and they are looking at converting over to NEON themselves.

Pros

The ability to target emails and run reports around specific audiences with basic formatting helps us to get our information out in a quick and easy manner, especially when you can schedule things ahead of time!

Cons

The trial-and-error beginnings of using an association management software aren't exclusive to NEON; however, some of the difficulty arises simply from having so many options!

Pros

Operational efficiencies with the campaign web pages and the QuickBooks syncing.

Cons

However, the custom reporting features take some getting used to and sometimes are not able to do what you want. Dashboard - The dashboard could be more robust showing more information about donors and donations.

NeonCRM (Constituent Resource Management) is a keeper

The program is vastly superior to juggling Excel spreadsheets and Word documents. Our everyday management of memberships, donations, fundraising campaigns, and event tickets/reservations has been incredibly facilitated.

Pros

A generous quantity of data fields built in, plus the ability to add custom fields.

Cons

Not all data fields are available to all report types, so report type must be chosen carefully.

The Neon CRM and it's cousin online engagement software offer seamless interface and integration with tracking and reporting Neon features include peer to peer module Neon is beautiful to look at and easy to learn and work with

Not all the info I needed so I had to keep going back and forth Neon does not talk to Click n Pledge but does integrate with many other payment processors

Pros

I'm a software developer in addition to volunteering to manage membership for my non-profit. The API functionality is easy to use and full featured.

Cons

Custom objects are a little restrictive in terms of reporting and integration functionality.

Great program for our network.

Being able to see my membership data at a glance on the dashboard is also very helpful.

Cons

I wish there was a way for my members upload documents during their join or renew experience as we like to capture logos, headshots and we require they submit their IRS determination letter so I still have to use a 3rd party vendor for that.

Compare apples to apples. Be sure to ask questions like, what gateway service will I need and how much will it cost? Do you charge a separate fee for each transaction? Do you provide customer service to more than one person? Are there additional charges for more than one log-in and how many can log in simultaneously? Is there a contract and how long? I compared 5 different and top in the industry companies and found Neon to be the most flexible and affordable system out there.
