Great alternative to more expensive platforms and it is rewarding to be a part of a growing and responsive new software that shakes up the industry.
Cons
OnShape does not have all the functionality of its competitors, but is building more functionality in on a monthly basis.

Continual update Simple ( bit basic) Mobile device use Spreads payment to monthly
Pros
Ease of use and auto save online - also the ability to view and edit on my cell phone is very handy Version control is good, but needs more intuitive feel
Cons
Cannot folder design tree - can get toooooo long and clumsy No ability to save a screen view - CAD images in screen - as a jpg I find the assembly management not intuitive - a bit clumsy The online requirement has not bothered me much - I thought it would!

I don't have to invest in workstations. My engineers can be working together on a complex assembly and not cross each other up. I often need to share CAD with my clients and the portability of a cloud-based file is great.
Pros
I really like the architecture for creating multiple parts within the same file. The cloud-based integrated PLM solution is really the what I need. I love the ability to just send a link for my client to review CAD.
Cons
There is a bit of a learning curve in regards to document management as it is a paradigm shift.

I always know I'm working with the most recent version of the software. Document management is handled for me by the application.
Pros
OnShape was easy to learn due to its similarity to other professional 3D CAD software.
Cons
I am not always able to figure out what I need to do to create a feature. Maybe I'm missing something, but I would like to be able to specify a hole or holes with a point and then reference other features off the center of a previously created hole, but I can't seem to be able to do that.

It's still super impressive to me to pull up a model on mobile and show friends/customers how it looks, parts that move.
Pros
Really, REALLY slick web interface and mobile app. Designing parts and mechanisms from any computer, just wow!
Cons
They started out positioned very nicely for small-time users, 10 private documents, but switched to "public only" free documents at the same time as they aggressively pushed for subscriptions.

Convenience to use especially import some date from SW or others software.
Pros
Is very useful for group design project or sharing with third party
Cons
Some function is not powerful enough such as create drawing new drawing plane on a curve. Support is limited especially in Oceania time zone countries. Support normally match with US Eastern time zone

My work has become significantly more organized, which I desperately needed!
Pros
Speed (once updating, computer, windows, internet) Master modeling capabilities and part management within documents.
Cons

Pros
Not having to worry about installation, updates or patches feels like being able to drive a car around while some one else is periodically and automatically taking care of all its maintenance work and also keep enhancing its performance.
Cons
Limitations arising from being a history based modeler - it would be preferable; (a) if sketches can be freed from this hierarchy as long as they are not dependent on any feature (b) better access to and management of parent/child relationships.

Pros
I only know onshape a cad tool, so I don't have much to compare with. There is a lot available training on YouTube, and invites from Onshape. I like the recording of sessions, for better timing of my lessons.
Cons
I got problems with solid functionality when exporting to step.

The free tier allows for hobbyist projects and quick testing activities.
Pros
The best feature is the ability to share and work collaboratively in design, with a central database and one version of the files.
Cons
Still missing some features to be considered a full-fledged CAD package. Performance, especially for large assemblies is very susceptible to internet speed and has high computer power demand.

Cost savings, convenience, ease of use
Pros
Browser accessibility, live collaboration, app integration! Being able to share with customers instantly is also a great perk.
Cons

Pros
The continuing support from the webinars for existing and new features is second to none. They are precise and clear. I always have new methods to try after watching one.
Cons

Document sharing and easy interface.
Pros
Makes our lives easier to create different projects and share it with the rest of the team. Interface is easy and intuitive, and mating is also more fun and faster than in any other cad I tried.
Cons
Some features like applying different colors to a part, mirroring in assembly, duplicating assemblies, more options inside drawings... I guess it is just a matter of time until it gets to the level of other softwares in the market.

With configuration management built in..
Pros
This software lets me do my CAD work more efficiently. Both at the individual level and collaboratively. And the icing on the cake is that every three weeks, there's new features to explore!
Cons
It's still young. Some features are not fully developed. Happily, most of these underdeveloped areas are on the fringes, outside of common use.

Ability to work remotely from a laptop rather than on a single desktop, ability to share documents between users and non-users.
Pros
The web access is the best feature, but the automatic saving, the branching and versioning, and being able to draw an edge of an existing feature into a new sketch are also very helpful.
Cons
The worst part is that there is no free, easy way to do quality finite element analysis for stress and strain calculations.

Hi Paul! Thanks for taking the time to review Onshape. I'd love to schedule some time for us to catch up and discuss your feedback in more detail. Do you have some time early next week to chat?
Easy implementation.
Pros
This also saves local storage and backup demand.
Cons
Depending on your locations internet infrastructure this can be a limiting factor. Here in Cape Town there are times when the connection is interrupted but not so much that it is debilitating. Some minor features are lacking depending on the industry you are in, however I expect they will be added in time as the product develops.

Its cheaper than other more used software with less data storage.
Pros
I also like the history tracking application and that it remembers everything I have ever changed and when.
Cons
It is very tough to get a good handle on and leaves most of us frustrated and spending too much time for what should be an easy mates.
