Pros

Cisco Webex has good functionality, is pretty intuitive to use, and the chat functions work well to ask questions, exchange information and the visual clarity is good.
Webex has an easy interface and is good with some integrations like outlook. Webex has a good mobile app.
I love that it allows chatting with individuals during a conference, which is very helpful. The group chats, polls, raise hands; all these features are pretty cool and easy to use.

Pros

Love Slack and would recommend to anyone to change over to it, the integration to other products is also really good.
Super easy set up, effortless onboarding, and great pricing plan for small groups. It has strong search functionality and intuitive threading.
You can have fun and customize. For example: We have a 'Jokes' channel that the slack bot will tell you jokes if you ask 'bot tell me a dad joke'- It's amazing.

Cons

Webex's design is atrocious, and its legacy features live behind separate interfaces—which are somehow even worse than the design of the main UX—that make them incredibly confusing to use.
Everytime you scroll through the people in the room, all the camera screens have to reload. Half the people in our room have audio problems and it's very ugly to the eye.
We have had trouble with the video when everyone first started working from home and opted for audio-only. I have also experience the inability to recorded meetings.

Cons

I disliked the inability to make a public group "private" after it's creation. Would occasionally lag and my.
While they are only visible to me, I am always worried that I accidentally posted something wrong.
They found it awkward that everything was a chat in Slack and uncomfortable with sending out a message that may "bother" others for small issues, and reverted to email, even with consistent reminders.

Good Tool for Internal communication between teams but it lacks feature like slack and Microsoft tools. It supports video call that is good and unique feature. Liked it overall

Cons

UI. Please change old and mainstream UI. Modify something good like Slack. Would be happy to use then. Also support more data size addition.

Perfect for Remote Employees

Reviewed 2 years ago

My boss is remote so this allows us to meet easily and quickly and with little interruption. It syncs to my email for meetings and joins everybody together for calls. It's been great!

Pros

It's very helpful and attaches to our Slack set up. It makes it easy to connect for meetings, and has better quality than other video software I've used.

Cons

The download process was a little confusing but our IT unit came and helped me set it up correctly for meetings.

Webex is the best for office communication

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

It integrates very well with macOS, unlike Teams, Skype, or even Slack. When the meeting is really big, it provides the least obtrusive UI to share and make calls.

Cons

Sometimes works really slow on the VPN and call drops really fast. Then sometimes the icons are frozen and the window pane freezes, especially during screen sharing.

Best Virtual Meetings Client

It is the best virtual meetings client that I have ever used compared to Slack, Discord, Skype and Xoom. Easy to use and feature-heavy. Really easy to get started.

WebEx is a decent conference solution, but it's showing its age

Reviewed 2 years ago

For huge corporate teleconferences, WebEx and GoToMeeting are the only real choices. Slack, Skype (formerly Lync) and Zoom just don't scale well for enterprise-level needs. WebEx has good integration with Outlook, and if you use Jabber, has a nice reminder feature to join meetings without needing to open any additional software. But, for quick one-ff meetings, my colleagues and I prefer using the no-frills (and often less-laggy) Zoom or Slack.

Pros

Integrates well into Outlook, allowing for quick setup of meetings

Cons

Is cumbersome to use compared to newer entries like Zoom

Great internally, not so great externally

Reviewed 7 months ago

I like to use this because of how easy it is to use within the larger suite of corporate tools such as outlook and slack. It’s probably easier to use Zoom for social chats.

Pros

We use this to communicate during the Pandemic. In a massive org, this integrates perfectly with Outlook Calendar and is seem less to use.

Cons

Communicating outside the org is tougher and requires more heavy lifting than using Zoom. The software isn’t very sleek looking.

Full featured and mostly reliable

Reviewed a year ago

In general I’d say this is my meeting and screen sharing tool of choice. It seems to more more reliable than Slack, more intuitive than Teams, and generally more flexible than other virtual meeting tools.

Pros

I appreciate how flexible it is. I can join from just my phone, join from my laptop, or even join from my laptop but route the audio to my phone.

Cons

I wish the “join” and “exit” beeps were automatically disabled for large meetings. It sounds like a small thing but it can get very irritating.

Webex just keeps on getting better

Reviewed a year ago

We use it to facilitate meetings across the company and within our team. It is great for connecting with customers as well.

Pros

It is a solid video communication application that we use constantly. It's fairly easy to set up a room and to invite people into chat rooms as well as share content on the screen.

Cons

I wish that it had a better draw on the screen feature like Slack does. It also has some default configuration issues like the chime every time someone enter the chat, but it is configurable, so that's good.

A good online meeting solution

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

We used WebEx Meeting Center tool in my previous company, and when it worked, it worked perfectly. It was a good tool to initiate video and audio meetings with teams located in different locations. The video and audio feeds were most of the time very good.

Cons

The process to initiate a meeting was a bit complicated, and it was hard for employees to know how to do it well. As an employee, my choice would be a simpler solution such as Skype or Slack extensions.

Old player trying to catch up

Pros

You can tell that Cisco is trying... there have been major improvements since the pandemic started... Performance and reliability are top of the line, video and audio quality as well and security is of the highest standards

Cons

The UX is not good, you can tell they try to copy a bunch of other players (Slack, Teams and Zoom) and the result is not the great. It's also missing integrations with other tools, don't make me switch context between Cisco screen and whatever else we are using during a meeting

Cisco Webex

One of the oldest and best meeting tool.

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

I have been using Webex since long time now, setting meeting, joining meeting through remote systems is very easy and convenient. I have also used android version of Webex meeting center, it works seemsless while travelling or working remotely. Screen sharing quality is excellent. Webex meeting cloud recording is exceptional too. Setting a webex meeting is just a click on microsoft outlook, it sets up the link to access, access phones, access codes, passwords etc... Meeting recording can be auto saved to cloud and intimated the link through a mail or message. Call quality does not go down even when 100+ attendee are present in call.

Cons

Though it's a very good tool but my company moved to Slack, Zoom and now Microsoft Teams, probably competitors application is not welcome any more. Need to make it bit more user friendly, new user need to spend more time knowing how it works. Sometime there is conflicts when remote user join from computer audio and phone audio.

Robust enterprise collaboration platform

Reviewed 8 days ago

Webex has been around for a while and still works well for standard video conferencing.

Pros

The UI has been updated to be more modern, in light of all the competition. Instead of the bare-bones UI of the past, now you can create spaces, groups, call contacts, and even view your schedule in the app. With the ability to directly message contacts, it's breaking into the Microsoft Teams / Slack category. Video conference calls are still the primary use case, it's easy to host or join a call and share your screen.

Cons

UI is still not as intuitive as zoom. Takes some getting used to before you are off to the races. In order to play ARF files you still need a separate Network Recorder Player which is yet another download. Performance is spotty over suspect internet connections.

i found Cisco webex meeting centre a wonderful tool, it is very easy to schedule meetings.

Reviewed 4 years ago

i can schedule my meeting in One click using this. We use WebEx daily for meetings with potential customers, vendors, and for support.

Pros

it is awesome tool. it is very easy to schedules meeting with this . we can integrate its plugin with out outlook and can schedule meeting in one click. we can.we can record the current meeting going on which is very good option. it provide screen sharing option on single or extended desktops as well. Voice quality is good as it consume very less bandwidth. We can chat with the meeting participants to everyone and individual as well.lightweight software.integrated audio, video and content sharing is awesome. it can be installed on multiple platforms i.e. mobile, pc tablet, mac etc.

Cons

there is limitation like if we have large number of user wanted to join the webex meeting room then it will restrict us and also when we have a big team and persons start joing the meeting then initially we get disturbances from software and face difficulties in hearing them clearly but yes after some time it will became smooth.. Lack of emoticons and smileys. it is little more pricey as compared to others like slack or zoom. and license renewal as is costlier.

Webex just WORKS!

Reviewed 9 months ago

Overall I am quite pleased. The current company I work for uses three different meeting tools and I always am pleased when I see Webex being the chosen tool. The others always seem to have some kind of trouble.

Pros

The best thing I really have come to admire about Webex over anything other such as Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, or even Slack is that it just works. No matter which device you're using or where you're connecting from, it works. Everyone's voice is always clear and you can easily tell who is speaking or sharing. The placement of every item is well thought out and I can't stress this enough, it just works! Best of all, regular updates reassure me that bugs are being taken care of while more innovation is implemented.

Cons

There isn't much I can think of that would be a con from Cisco's side. I had an older car where the sound would not play through my bluetooth but I don't blame Webex for that. They can't account for every car's audio system. Once in a blue moon a recurring webex meeting will just not work and claim to "not exist" but easy fix to just resend a meeting invite. Other than that, no other downsides I can think of.

How the mighty have fallen

Reviewed 3 years ago

WebEx used to be great software. Now it is mediocre software that is overpriced and underfeatured. Asking a question on a Cisco forum about WebEx has the moderator close your question and redirect you to a WebEx site. WebEx is past its prime, and it shows in the lack of revolutionary or even maintenance features in the WebEx client. Nearly any other choice will be cheaper and offer a better experience to users.

Pros

WebEx was the default leader in virtual meetings. Subsequent to its acquisition by Cisco, things got markedly better. The tool had broad integration with scheduling tools like Outlook, and the (relatively) recent addition of the ability to attend a meeting using only a browser is an added bonus for people who lack administrative rights on their PCs.

Cons

With stiff competition from Microsoft's Skype for Business, the venerable GoToMeeting, and newer arrivals like Slack and Zoom, WebEx is now a choice amongst many. When WebEx works, it does so decently at best. It suffers from bandwidth issues, even with only two participants in the same building. Furthermore, if a large enterprise buys an account, they are given "dedicated" support. When the client...
