RingCentral Meetings: Great Way to Do Online Meetings and Screen-shares

2018-10-29

I have been actively using RingCentral Meetings for about a year. Even after moving our phone system to RingCentral, I keep struggling with other tools. Once I gave it a chance, I found that it is a great tool that just works. I mostly use it for screen shares with customers, but it handles audio by PC or phone, video, and all of the features you would expect.

Pros

I have messed around with Skype, Skype for Business, and other tools, and keep coming back to RingCentral Meetings.

Cons

I haven;'t found any problems with this product. Everything works well.

Used RingCentral but it’s sister product, Zoom, seems like more value for money

2019-04-20

RingCentral is useful and works consistently. Ultimately, I moved to Zoom because of features and price.

Pros

Additionally, their VOIP functionality seems to be more stable than Skype, WebEx and GoToMeeting.

Cons

I think that it does not offer all the features of Zoom. Further, it seems that many enterprise IT security teams are not as familiar with RingCentral as with other tools, and thus not as willing to allow install.

RingCentral is a straightforward easy to use collaboration package

2018-04-13

Simple, straightforward and great quality!

Pros

We primarily use RingCentral for dialing into video conferences, and from a participant standpoint, it is easy to install, setup and use. The call quality is top notch and there was no quality drops during our calls.

Cons

It is on par with Skype for Business in terms of features and adding a few more features would improve the sell-ability of the product.

Reliable, but a bit dated

2019-01-28

Pros

RingCentral is pretty much the same as Zoom so you might expect similar functionality and familiar interface. I've been using it for more than a year now daily for video calls and it's been pretty reliable even for larger calls of 50+ people. Audio/video lags are quite rare and there is an option to call in using phone which solves audio issues completely when they occur. Screen sharing works well, it has support for multiple screens. There's record and chat functionality built in. Apps for mobile devices are offered and work well (I've used the iOS version.) Lately they've added support for Linux, so all desktop operating systems are covered.

Cons

The design feels a bit dated and it the app might be a bit intimidating for users coming from simple video call solutions like Google Hangouts, Skype, or FaceTime.

Easier Communication

2018-09-05

It is very friendly and it works with every device, even to make phone calls to the clients.

Pros

More complete and practical than skype.

Cons

I would not change anything about this software. For us, it has been very practical.

Very Functional Program, Slightly Awkward to Launch

2015-04-23

Pros

It seems to have fewer problems syncing up audio and video than other programs that take control of the speakers and microphone, such as Skype.

Cons

Some facets about RingCentral are not user-friendly - the difference betwen "RingCentral for WIndows" and "RingCentral Meetings" is unnecesary, and both could be consolidated into the same program. Likewise, redownloading and running a file that triggers my OS's security warning is not a pleasant way to respond to a meeting request. Its disadvantages all come in launching the program or joining a meeting.

Recommendations to others considering RingCentral

The most important thing is to see how well it syncs up with multiple user cameras, microphones, and speakers. Does it launch well under different systems and with different levels of quality? Despite the small difficulties in joining or beginning a meeting, Ringentral operates very well.

Worse than free options like Google Voice

2019-02-27

Pros

It's one of the lower priced voice services and gives us a company line that multiple employees can theoretically receive calls on.

Cons

It will dial your cell phone then dial the person you dialed from the desktop application as a work around - that's pretty weak since FREE services like Google Voice, Skype and DialPad have done this for over a decade.

I'm a Microsoft advocate and I cannot get excited about Skype for Business/Lync

2019-01-30

This tool is useful when clients insist on their in-house conferencing system...I do not recommend Skype for Business anymore.

Pros

I like that as most large corporations are using the Microsoft ecosystem, Skype is easy to suggest as an alternative to other conferencing/meeting tools. This makes it much easier to schedule meetings, rather than discuss how to schedule meetings and which platform to use.

Cons

Skype for Business' audio settings are not as intuitive as GoToMeeting, RingCentral or WebEx.
