Top Two Email Services

2019-04-22

SendGrid and Mailgun are both rock solid and very affordable.

Pros

Very easy to use and works flawlessly. Used it on two projects and it was a pleasure.

Cons

Not really a con but I typically choose SendGrid over Mailgun simply because I've been using SendGrid for so long.

Simple to setup and works great.

2017-08-09

Pros

The free 10,000 first email option is excellent and very competitive against other companies such as SendGrid.

Cons

After installation everything works but Contact Us does not send messages to any mail address. Developer's support got also broken after first reply from Chuck. I use CE-1.9.2

Good pay-as-you-go pricing structure, simple but powerful tools

2019-04-01

Pros

The pricing, including the free tier, is much more generous than what you can get with some pricier providers, like SendGrid. I mainly just use Mailgun as an SMTP server for web services, and the service has been set-up-and-forget, which is great because I never even have to log onto the Mailgun website and do any work.

Cons

It would be cool to have some client libraries like those that SendGrid provide, but this is also pretty superfluous because the REST API works great and is language agnostic.
