Pros

Video calls, integration with Altassian products, mobile and linux apps, other third-party tools like virtual stand-ups.

Cons

Some features are still "Beta", but they actively resolve bugs if you report it though correct channel.

Moving from HipChat to Stride has increased collaboration even more, and made ChatOps easier

2018-07-02

Much easier collaboration around standups, impromptu meetings, video & audio chat, easier to create chatbots and add multiple teams, just better overall.

Pros

ease of tagging decision points, video calls/meeting, adding chatbots.

Cons

no dark mode like in HipChat. Slow migration process for moving from HipChat to Stride. We've been using them in parallel in the meantime, which is less than ideal. No plans for an on-prem version ala HipChat Server/Data Center.

Great tool for teams to improve productivity & team collaboration

2018-07-03

I think one of the greatest things about messaging platforms like Stride is that it relies not only on the feature of peer to peer communication but on the possibility to have integrations within it.

Pros

Its really great using Stride for video calls , & using rooms with code snippets to be passed on ( I love the code snippet feature , which was a pain in Hipchat with truncation & empty spaces ).

Cons

Going forward I look for more integration with Jira so that you can update comments , effort etc via Stride using commands .

Using this at work for the past 2 months. Overall satisfied.

2018-06-29

Improved manageability of the chats/rooms, cleaner design, better accessibility.

Pros

I really like the right-side menu, where you can see installed apps, files, start meetings or see the todo's. I also enjoy the emoji support, a lot better than hipchat.

Cons

To make matters worse, a 3rd party released a pretty decent Jira Server integration before them.

It's an amazing application. We have migrated from slack and it feels really very clean and neat.

2018-07-05

It is a part of the atlassian ecosystem and hence found switching from one app to other easy and also the UI is uniform which doesn't hurt the eyes.

Pros

It is less colourful and has a simple UI.

Cons

Need more integration with third part apps. Need to have reminders and notification settings .

An experience which has me seeking to ditch GoToMeeting

2018-06-29

A better team collaboration experience across the globe, including, video conferencing, decision making, removing reliance on email, and ensuring all are included in conversations.

Pros

- It is easy to use in general case - Love the ability to record decisions - Love the integration with other Atlassian products - Having giphy included means I have no desire to use Slack

Cons

- I want the ability to record meetings - I want easy integration with Outlook, for organising meetings - It is a bit clicky to bring up the other phone numbers when using for meetings.

A great competitor to Slack.

2017-12-14

Pros

Free tier offers features like group video chat that is locked behind paid tier of Slack.

Cons

I couldn't find a section to add bots or integrations. There wasn't a definitive admin section either.

Very good application with lot of plugins which makes the work very easy.

2018-07-06

For development and work tracking, integrated several apps, which makes the work easy with all the notifications.

Pros

I have been using this since a month, I was used to an app called Slack.

Cons

Couldn't find anything yet. As I have mentioned above, I couldn't find much difference between Slack and Stride. One area of improvement could be the GUI.

Super and cool team communication software, helps in making the team communication so efficient.

2018-05-27

Pros

- Simple and superb UI. - Decision-making feature is great and helps to convert the chats into tasks

Cons

- As Stride is a bit new, it has fewer integrations compared to Slack - You need to have an Atlassian account to use the stride, which is a bit confusing at the start.

Integrates easily with JIRA

2018-06-28

Integration with JIRA - we can easily see what's going on in terms of bug reports and such from Stride.

Pros

JIRA allows me to set up integrations, which notifies us when there's a new issue, comment, or when something's been solved or selected for development.

Cons

No custom icons for channels. We can only select from the collection of boring default icons which often don't fit our channels at all.

An improvement from Hipchat

2018-06-14

Pros

UI is more current, and UX makes the app easy to use - works well with large teams, customization is somewhat limited though.

Cons

Anybody can make a simple UI for team chat, but the integrations with Slack makes me keep using Slack over any other competitors.

Its way better than what we used to use. We were using Salesforce chatter before

2018-07-16

We can send standup status. Chatting with Team members.

Pros

I like the Stand-up time Standbot, creating rooms feature, in meeting you have the option to share screen.

Cons

Apps/integrations are room/conversation-wide, not application wide, which is weird.
