Pros

He been using AWS RDS for like 4 years now, & its the best Database management tool we ever tried. Here its super easy to operate & scale your database.
It is one of the most simple and lightweight solutions available in the market with amazing scalability as per the usage, its disaster recovery is great.
Great features like scalability, administration, high availability, API abilities, notifications, alarms, security and monitoring with low price.

Pros

Overall very happy with Several Nines and Cluster Control and I am happy our company engages with them.
Great usability and feature rich with umpteen DBs in one place. Good in monitoring and scalability.
Being able to implement IaaS services on premise or private cloud, across differing technology stacks is awesome. Preventing vendor lock in while enabling functionality is great.

Cons

I am unable to think of anything unpleasant about Amazon RDS.
Amazon RDS security is not a quite high level. Also with so many NoSQL databases coming up these days, RDS is a difficult choice to make given that it lags behind those NoSql databases.
Since it's not a self-hosted service, there are some low level features that are missing.

Cons

For example, you have alert from category DBHealth about Use wsrep_sst_method=xtrabackup-v2 instead. But I don't like to use it and I don't like to skip all the warnings of DBHealth category.
Using Postgres as an enterprise platform is no more a pain.
Because of that continuous sampling might miss some queries during steps 3 to 5.
