Pros

Its a very good monitoring tool. The overall ease of use ,configuration and excellent customer support makes it one of the best monitoring tools available.
User friendly and we can customize this product as per our requirement. I did some customization for mongodb with the help of APM team and which is supports my requirement.
This software was initially brilliant: quick to set up, easy to use, and a good value for the money.

Pros

The inbound and outbound data on our network traffic is outstanding. You can customize this logs to your benefit and creating dashboards on this is very simple.
Excellent and reliable albeit slow place to turn when investigating an incident, logs are easily available and sortable leading to quick and accurate determinations.
Splunk has very strong query language event complex commands like Join, subquery or aggregate which much the same with SQL query with good report UI to display result.

Cons

Limited agents for APM marks a limitation on the usage of this tool.
No other application management tool comes close to the quality/price of applications manager.
This maybe because my company has not set up that feature. I find it difficult to find closed or past requests.

Cons

I feel debugging is difficult. Drop down or drag and drop functions should be made available because it's difficult to keep track and remember syntax of functions and it's usage.
Splunk query language is quite hard to learn for new user and its query error is too generic for troubleshooting.
If I see a problem in the Test lane, I can quickly check all of the other lanes for the same issue by simply changing the dropdown value.
