Pros

I loved the finish of the design, and the fact that they had the gridlines to guide placement. Alignment of the shapes were so easy, and loved how customizable it was.

VS

Vaishnavi S.

Very easy to use with excellent collaborative features. Nice bright and modern UI.

AB

Arun B.

This was a great product if you're looking for something to do very simple flows and charts in. Price point is great, and the free version still allows to use most features.

Lisa T.

Pros

Have only been using for 5 months now but I'm a great fan of the simplicity bundled with endless options for quick iterations.

AR

Anonymous Reviewer

It makes my job incredibly easy and produces a super clean wireframe immediately. The pre-set buttons that you can drag are the best and I just won't use anything else for Wireframing.

TS

Tori S.

It is a good desktop and mobile mock-up tool with a good quantity of functionalities. For sure is one of the best free solutions for small projects in LF stages.

DM

David M.

Cons

Lack of features advertised would be included. Lack of tutorials in the software.

VL

Victoria L.

Sometimes the lines between connections didn’t land where I wanted them or changed shape and that was frustrating.

EB

Erika B.

Occasionally, when I'd try to "tweak" a little place on my project it would mess up the whole thing.

LF

LoRisa F.

Cons

The following things I don't like. No walk through/onboarding, sometimes makes you feel lost.

Prashant M.

Additionally, creation of site-maps is limited with no scope of customization.

Simisara J.

Wireframes can look child-like and unprofessional with some settings. Currently based on Adobe Air technology which is outdated.

Balsamiq

Allows the right conversation by looking so different from the end product

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

The ugly-ness of the mock ups. It really makes it clear that UX is at the forefront not the UI. If you have stakeholders that like to argue about color and font, this software is a lifesaver.

Cons

It's hard to create re-useable components that can be changes quickly. It's possible to create libraries of custom components, but it's clunky at best.

Cons

*Limited collaboration capabilities. *They don't support interactive prototypes. *It's a little difficult to scroll thought the drag and drop library of UI elements.

Good & simple software

Reviewed 2 years ago

The wireframes created with this software looks fine, in some minutes you can create your designs and share with coworkers or customers.

Pros

Is easy to use, for fast wireframes is fine, I just tried the windows edition, I'm not sure if there is another version of this sofware, probably don`t, also you are capable to export like an image.

Cons

This is the other side of the pro, use some Adobe Productos to work, so, probably you have to consider that, because you have to install another dependencies.

Would never start a mockup without it

Reviewed 3 years ago

A beautifully created tool that is a pleasure to use.

Pros

It doesn't matter whether it is a web site or a full blow desktop or mobile app, Balsamiq will make it as quick and simple as can be. One of the things that Balsamiq really shines at is that a newbie can start using it immediately as it has a well thought out userinterface. But then dig deeper under the service, and you'll find all sorts of powerful features that allow even the most complex mockup to be created with ease. I also love the look of the created mockups. Unlike some tools that try to create photorealistic versions of your design, Balsamiq focuses more on creating a proper wireframe mockup (although other options are avialable) and there actually look darned cool and are very presentable.

Cons

What's not to like. Balsamiq does exactly what it claims to do and it does it beautifully. I've used it for years and I honestly can't think of any times when I thought it was lacking.

Ability to quickly create UI designs for review, prior to implementation.

Pros

Very simple to use. Able to easily and quickly mock up a UI, pass to user team for review / acceptance before implementing. Saved countless hours of re-development time.

Cons

Very little. I think the pricing is a bit steep for what is a relatively simple single purpose application.

Fast functional mockups

Reviewed 3 years ago

We use Balamiq to quickly create functional mockups for custom software and website long before visual design is complete. This allows us to talk to customers about HOW thing should work rather than what they look like. Our designers use the ideas to build into their visual design knowing we've already hammered out the functionality.

Pros

Creating mockups quickly and being able to share and collaborate with others is a huge benefit.

Cons

Some objects for more modern interface concepts are missing and must be created manually.

Pros

Balsamiq

Excellent creator of mockups, sketchs and more.

Reviewed 2 years ago

It is an excellent tool, useful for most mockups, wireframe, that are going to be created, ideal for creating quick sketches in a short time, it is also very useful when creating diagrams, in addition to the fact that although their designs are quite basic, it is a very clean and presentable work, it can also be used from any device that has a web browser and internet connection.

Pros

What I like most about Balsamiq is that I can work all projects and use it freely without the need to download any software, since it is a tool hosted in the cloud, which allows me to work with files that are directly hosted on a drive, such as Google drive also allows me to export them in different formats, such as pdf, jpg, etc. So it is perfect to integrate mockups, wireframes into other files, or send them as a single file. It has a wide variety of predefined icons, with basic shapes that are used for the design of wireframes, diagrams, mockups, so it is just drag and drop.

Cons

It is a very useful tool, however it works to create basic models, it is not a tool that has many customization possibilities, it only allows you to change some basic characteristics of the elements, such as size, color and size. However, it meets most of the requirements to create wireframes, quality mockups.

It has been a pleasure to use this tool for its easy use

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

1. Super easy to use even for someone with minimal design experience. 2.As easy as drawing on a sheet with a pencil.

Cons

1.The possibility that it is an application for 64 bits. 2.No options for creating interactive prototypes

Vendor response

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about our tool, Larry. :) About prototypes: you're right, our little tool has low interactivity on purpose and we don't plan to add such features. That being said, the existing Linking feature might help you to demonstrate click-through prototypes. A great mockup tool for web development

Reviewed 3 years ago

Designing and creating proofs of concept, noting ideas and working out what a front-end should look like.

Pros

A lightweight, simple UI that makes marking mockups easy. The feature set is small, but this is made up by ease of use and simplicity. You can knock out a proof of concept quite quickly without lots of time and the learning curve isn't very steep.

Cons

Not advisable for very detailed mocks that require editing and displaying design elements. While slim in features, it still makes up for this with ease.

Balsamiq

A fun and easy-to-use wireframe tool

Reviewed 2 years ago

Brilliant. It succeeds in taking something pretty dull (wireframes) and makes me excited to create and share them.

Pros

It's so easy to use! It lets you create beautiful wireframes within minutes, and there's no training needed. It adds lots of nice touches: - The boxes look like they've been sketched by hand - You can change the colours of objects to match your brand colours - You can share wireframes with team members

Cons

I've tried quite a few wireframe tools but I keep coming back to Balsamiq. I don't have anything bad to say about the product, but perhaps the website and licensing could be a bit simpler (especially as there's a different cloud and desktop version of the product).
