Convenient and easy site management system

2019-01-18

Pros

The platform provides a large selection of properties when building rubricators, it has the ability to control user access rights.

Cons

There is no built-in tool for importing and exporting data, and a small number of plug-ins to extend the basic functionality of the platform forces our programmers to write some modules on their own.

Drupal's learning curve is too steep.

2018-05-05

Drupal has been very useful to especially on my client side projects since i can use it as an API as well.

Pros

With relevant experience, prototyping in drupal can be very rapid and a hustle-free activity. The scaling of a project is also excellent.

Cons

Drupal con sometimes be very slow due to it's high consumption of resources especially for beginners who have not set it up properly yet.

High security platform

2018-12-20

Pros

When we create websites of small or large sizes, the choice always falls on the Drupal platform, which is great for any projects, featuring a clear interface and a high level of security.

Cons

To bring the project to a full state sometimes it takes a lot of time. The calendar function refuses to work.

This has come a long way since the days when it split with Joomla!

2018-02-13

Great free product, could be better designed in the UI department, however.

Pros

I like the fully featured easy to use content management system - the advanced features that are available and that it costs nothing!

Cons

I like how the team improved the UI in the latest versions, however I think it could do with a professional designer's input and design to make it polished and look 100% clean, easy to use and a bit more attractive to look at.

One of the most robust and secure Web CMS in the market

2018-07-27

The security of having a tool that allows me to deal with almost any web project that requires content management, scalability and security.

Pros

It is open source backed by a large community that has been committed for years to a project that is characterized by its flexibility and security. Drupal provides a robust content authoring platform and is capable of handling large numbers of users with clear rules and permits.

Cons

The fact of being an almost module-dependent system for most of the functionalities can force you to deal with many configurations, compatibility issues and workflows when you want to implement complex functionalities that may even need several modules working together.

A Better Value Than WordPress

2018-12-14

Drupal can be used as a standard website or in a "headless" mode to provide data to other sources.

Pros

The community support for this product is incredible. There are no licensing fees and the number of modules available to accomplish tasks is very good. Updates are all found in one location. Unlike WordPress there are no separate licenses for each plug-in, each having their own upgrade path.

Cons

The learning curve can be steep but once you have invested your time, this tool becomes a blank canvas.

Powerful CMS with enormous flexibility but an uncertain future

2016-03-24

I've been using Drupal since version 5, in 2007, and I rely on it for approximately half the sites I manage. It's enormously powerful, can be customized in any conceivable manner, and offers a vast array of modules and themes, most free. This power and flexibility comes at the price of a complex codebase, however, which can be slow to render and subject to database corruption. Drupal also suffers from a fixed release structure with dramatic architectural changes between releases, meaning that updating heavily customized Drupal sites to new major versions is not much less involved than adopting a new CMS framework altogether.

Pros

Some things are even easy: setting up a basic blog is trivial, plenty of options are available for turnkey themes, and many third-party modules exist to rapidly turn Drupal into a solid framework for everything from e-commerce to social media aggregation to academic collaboration.

Cons

From version 6 to the new version 8, Drupal has changed virtually everything, and as a result, many deployed users linger on increasingly insecure older versions, while many module developers and third-party integration teams have abandoned Drupal altogether as a result of the ongoing investment necessary to stay abreast of codebase changes.

Drupal can do a lot but it takes a special person to do it

2018-03-08

If you want a higher tech and more capable website, this is great. For something simple, I'd stick to Squarespace.

Pros

It's highly organized, has a lot of capabilities, has higher end features for loading that give it a unique spin beyond what Wordpress or Squarespace can do.

Cons

A lot of configuration and placement have to be done manually versus a drag and drop feature.

Convenient solution for web applications

2018-11-29

Pros

I use the Drupal content management system as a framework for developing web applications.

Cons

For me personally, the main drawback of the Drupal content management system is the minimum number of available plug-ins, with which you can extend the basic functionality of this CMS.
