Pros

I was very impressed on how much softwares you can download for this. They are very useful everywhere.
One of the best things I personally love about it is CI/CD. I will definitely encourage you to use it regardless of how you are working - as a team or an individual.
Their search is fast and easy to find open source projects that are well coded. The Github actions for free is nice to have and all the extras you get for free are amazing.

Pros

With its intuitive interface, powerful automation capabilities, and top-notch security features, the platform is an excellent choice for organizations seeking to optimize their Kubernetes workloads.
It is easy in use also I like the Multi-Cloud support which helps user like me who switches between multiple cloud choices.
Kubernetes Platform have great capabilities in terms of application development and application management and cost savings.

Cons

The only downside I found in git was that it had two levels of dependency support, the first two of which were very strict and the third one was very vague: most people are unaware of it.
Github downtime is always a pain to developers. A bad merge is very difficult to revert.
It can be somewhat overwhelming and intimidating when you start using it. It appears much more difficult than it actually is.

Cons

Terminal commands are confusing for beginners.
Difficult to resolve errors. Setup is quite difficult for new users.
It is a bit costly, but I expect the new features will adjust the cost soon.

Github is the hub for repositories

Reviewed 3 years ago

We were able to integrate the repos with ci/cd pipeline process with our kubernetes cluster and open source jenkins.

Pros

I like the ease of integration with other tools like jenkins and ci/cd components. Even the commits to the github are seamless. I have used it as part of ci/cd implementation and really liked it

Cons

There are other open source repositories which offer the same functionality like bitbucket and also the features can be more enhanced given the pricing involved

Best free service!

Reviewed 6 years ago

I grew up with this. It's like a friend for life.

Pros

It's free - that is the first thing that comes in. It saves a lot of developers life! Easy to share codes and show the world what you are capable of!

Cons

The down is, there is no private repository options. At least a limited number of private repository should be offered. CI options can be pre integrated. Native integration of Kubernetes will be a great feature!

github review

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

github is in a class of it's own and the pioneer of something that is entirely different. with github, it is easier for developers from every corner of the world to collaborate easily on projects by sharing codes. This amazing platform birth several open source projects alongside applications. This does npt necessarily mean every code on the github platform is made public, you can as well, by choice, make your codes private.

Cons

the search function on the github platform definitely needs some improvement as its current state makes it a difficult task for those looking for one code or the other on the platform. Premium members have been prioritized over free users as the former can access all repositories present on the platform. For those who only need to download an application or two, the platform can get confusing for them as random users.
