GitLab vs GitHub

Reviewed a year ago

It gave me and my student team valuable insights regarding who had been contributing with what and when those contributions were made. I saw there were a lot of other analytics features which I did not check out.

Pros

GitLab seems to be the better choice if you want all the complex features such as better permission control etc.

Cons

GitHub, to me, seems simpler due to its integration with other tools makes it easier to use, especially for those not (yet) fluent in Unix.
