Pros

The availability of this tool is fabulous and configuring setting up clusters is done in minutes. Also, the performance of this service is amazing, be it in any region, across the globe.
Ease of being able to access the information or saved documents of high importance. Love the fact you can connect with others and build great relationships with.
I love how easy and user friendly this software is. It is also very reliable and consistently just works.

Pros

With its intuitive interface, powerful automation capabilities, and top-notch security features, the platform is an excellent choice for organizations seeking to optimize their Kubernetes workloads.
It is easy in use also I like the Multi-Cloud support which helps user like me who switches between multiple cloud choices.
Kubernetes Platform have great capabilities in terms of application development and application management and cost savings.

Cons

It is charged in dollar which makes it very expensive for people living in countries where the local currency is weak compared to the US dollar.
I dislike that it causes me to worry about privacy in regards to anything I upload. You never truly know where it's going or who has access when it goes to the cloud.
Navigation on the pages can be confusing at times and some information is not updated for the latest version.

Cons

Terminal commands are confusing for beginners.
Difficult to resolve errors. Setup is quite difficult for new users.
It is a bit costly, but I expect the new features will adjust the cost soon.

Most Reliable Cloud Platform

Reviewed 5 years ago

Migrating to Google cloud has made a huge compact in our business and made the workflows easy and reliable. And also availability of services are also really good.

Pros

Google cloud platform is packed with most of the features we need from a cloud platform. The best thing about Google platform is its simple interface. They have packed all the complex features in to a user friendly and easy to use interface. As a Kubernetes developer Google cloud platform is the best way to use kubernetes. Via Google cloud You can use Managed Kubernetes with its full potential. And also all other features like Cloud functions, Cloud SQL , Google Buckets are working flawlessly and usefully.

Cons

There is only one thing I wanted to be added to google cloud. That is dark mode for the console. We spent lot of hours a day looking at the cloud console. So it will be really good to have dark mode in cloud console because looking at white screens can cause eye strain.

A Good Contender

Reviewed 8 years ago

Google feels a bit like a new kid on the block. They've got good solutions for most things, as much as we've needed. But some things can feel a bit unpolished. We LOVE Kubernetes/Container Engine in terms of how robust it is, but it has a pretty steep learning curve. We've had a few issues using Cloud SQL. Their support staff, the Level 0, are basically just docs regurgitators. We bought Gold, and it tends to be better. Although for a few issues, they go into "research" for quite some time. The worst aspect is their billing interface. It's about as bare-bones as it gets. AWS is much better in this area, but I expect them to improve over time. Overall, we have a lot of confidence in GCP, but it still has plenty of rough edges. And it is competitively priced.

Pros

Robust Solutions Competitive Pricing Great Logging/Monitoring Integration

Cons

Steep Learning Curve (for Kubernetes) Virtually No Billing UI

Expensive but paying for convenience

Reviewed 5 years ago

We use Google Cloud Platform for a couple of services. We have an automated telephone system that we had implemented by a developer using Kubernetes, which has worked well on the free tier for some time. We also use Google Cloud Storage occasionally to upload some large artwork files. It is expensive, but as we only use it infrequently, it has been worth the extra cost to save on management.

Pros

I liek that Google Cloud Platform offers convenience by us paying a premium to have managed services, like Google Cloud Storage and their implementation of Kubernetes.

Cons

Google Cloud Platform, like most of the cloud providers, is really expensive.

Google Cloud can do almost everything

Reviewed 6 years ago

Google Cloud with Kubernetes is taking our devops deployments to a new level.

Pros

As we get into using Google Cloud more and more, I'm impressed by the breadth of services. Looks like we can replace most of our existing tooling and services by on platform equivalents.

Cons

Google's not great with their admin interface / console UX. If you're doing common things like spinning a VM up, it's fairly straightforward, but if you don't know what you're looking for you struggle to find it.

We moved our Docker-based server infrastructure to Google Cloud due to some more complex networking needs we had when switching our container management from Ansible to Kubernetes. A little more difficult to get setup versus some competitors, a great platform to host Kubernetes

Pros

Kubernetes hosting was excellent, pricing is reasonable, the cost model is very clear and the free trial credit is very generous to get started. The built in command line/terminal tool is also very useful and well executed. It is a pleasure to manage Kubernetes on Google Cloud.

Cons

Tough to get started, not as user friendly as other competitors which offers GUIs and step-by-step setups. If you want to use Google Cloud, it is good to know what you are doing before you start.

Enhanced AI and K8 features facilitate the development of the latest applications

Reviewed 2 years ago

All data processing can be completed by accessing the cloud platform from a web browser. The ability to work seamlessly with Google Earth Engine. Even if you do not have a high-specification machine at hand, you can perform various data processing you want by operating the cloud from your browser. Because you can directly run analysis algorithms, such as machine learning, linking with various Earth Engine data. By using GKE, we no longer needed to operate our Kubernetes cluster and could now focus on application development. As a result, we were able to concentrate on developing services that could deliver more value, contributing to the speed and quality of application releases.

Pros

I think the Kubernetes cloud service is very easy to use, partly because it is provided by Google, which developed Kubernetes. We also have a full range of AI services, and by combining them with Google AI, we can offer AI services seamlessly, which helps improve the added value of our services.

Cons

The web browser interface is constantly changing. When the system is updated, it also changes the menu display, etc., so it can be a bit confusing. There is no problem with the data processing itself, but sometimes the response at the first stage of access from the browser seems a bit slow.

Google Cloud Platform Review

Reviewed 5 years ago

GCP or Google Cloud platform is fairly new in cloud competition, where AWS already swallowed major chunk of clients and Azure is holding the 2nd position in terms of number of clients. But GCP gaining rapidly and reaching to masses mostly due to the services it provides and goodwill of Google. I have worked on AWS and GCP though GCP lacks some features and services in comparison to AWS but GCP is scaling up rapidly to meet customer requirements.

Pros

Efficient costing as billing to the “per second” of usage. Better Containerization or Kubernetes support. Specialized in Big Data, analytics and machine learning. Reliable security features. VMs does not have plethora of instance types, you can customize the instance as per requirement. Fast storage with uncapped bandwidth. 300 USD free account on signup to help understand the platform.

Cons

Lack of managed services. Less global data centers compare to AWs.

All the Google power on your fingertips

Reviewed 5 years ago

I recommend this platform for wide range of customers that have not super tight budget for their application hosting but want to stay away from bunch of low-level details of running and maintenance of application infrastructure.

Pros

Great platform to create, deploy and maintain cloud applications of any size for everybody who don't want to get stuck in all those low-level server and os administration. Provides most advanced technologies including Kubernetes and serverless applications, has pretty useful management console that can looks a bit messy for beginners but really amazing comparing to competitor's management tools . Has pretty tight and seamless integration with wide range of Google services API, from Google Maps to Google Docs. Last not least has free tier that is enough for learning of platform, education and even some real "pet" projects.

Cons

A bit complicated and sometimes confusing price models, prices for some services are unreasonable higher than competing.

Tight-nit package that mostly delivers

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

- If you use Kubernetes, a lot of things fit together hand-in-glove. It's built around this concept and makes a lot of things integrate nicely. - Lots of great products included that integrate well together and offer relative simplicity - Flexible permissions system through IAM gives a high degree of control - Documentation is pretty good overall

Cons

- While it's consistent across the board, the UX for making changes is a little goofy. I get the reason is to avoid unintended changes, but having to find and click the edit button at the top to make any changes is unintuitive. - While the permissions system is flexible, it can be hard to find just the right set of options. Things are sometimes unavailable for confusing reasons, although it does at least generally give you hints as to what permissions might be missing

Best Cloud Provider with Great Future

Reviewed 2 years ago

I am very happy that I got to start my career with GCP. It's just works. The features like Bigquery, Bigtable, Cloud Spanner, GKE, Autopilot are industry leading. And it shows in how GCP is capturing the market.

Pros

The Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering SAAS offerings of GCP are best in the market. Bigquery makes analysis of billing of multiple projects very easy. It's Autopilot and Standard Kubernetes offering are just amazing. UI and Console are very easy to use and makes starting on GCP great. Security Command Centre is great. Even the free tier.

Host applications with ease over the most efficient cloud platform - Google Cloud Platform

We have our internal as well as client applications deployed on multi-cloud architecture, and I have personally worked over all the available cloud platforms. We also have built our own cloud architecture for internal purposes. However, by far Google Cloud Platform services are by far one of the best services available in the market. Reliance, cost and performance, all collectively considered, GCP would never disappoint any serious user and who actually wants to ease to deploy and channelize effectiveness to all its customers.

Pros

1. Amazing online community and support documents are available. 2. Supports the complete VM model and micro-services such as managed Kubernetes infrastructure as well. 3. Sole-tenant models are also available - In case you have confidential data to be hosted on applications and cannot take any chance to share your cloud infrastructure with other customers, you can have a dedicated infrastructure, all for you organisations use. 4. Complete on-prem systems can be migrated to Google Cloud Platform with help of engineers from Google. 5. Cost-effective and pay when used model, which helps organisations save funds. 6. Software Development Kit available for Google Cloud Platform, which can be used widely for any service and all via a command-line interface.

Cons

1. Very granular features are available on the platform which allows users to create custom solutions, but can become a little challenging to set up initially due to a large feature set available. 2. The platform heavily rely on the Internet, therefore stable network with large bandwidth is required so as to run the platform consistently.

An accessible cloud platform

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

- Tutorials for beginners & interactive console to try all the stack without worrying about installing stuff - Ease of use for one or more kubernetes cluster - The software tool to install on your computer used to deploy apps in the cloud. - Variety of software tools available to compose your apps with - The initial 400$ given by Google for a free trial - Less complicated to use than AWS (personal opinion)

Cons

- Pricing can get pretty expensive very fast, as for any other cloud computing managed system.

Fantastic Cloud Tools with Fast Deployment

Reviewed 6 years ago

I've enjoy using this product. It makes development time faster and it integrates very well with a wide range of Google Cloud / API products.

Pros

The Google Cloud Platform is an assortment cloud development tools - in my case, for web development. I utilize their Compute Engine, SQL, Storage, a number of their networking tools. I've found getting these different tools to work together has been very easy. One of the things I love about using Google Cloud is how easy it is to launch additional tools, create separate operating environments for...

Cons

My gripe isn't unique to the Google Cloud Platform - it may simply be the reality of the billing model used by most cloud providers I've used - costs can sneak up quickly if you're not paying attention. Since the costs associated with the cloud platform are all variable expenses based on items such as time in use, storage fees, or network thru-put, it often takes a few days for Google to properly...

Pros

It is easy in use also I like the Multi-Cloud support which helps user like me who switches between multiple cloud choices.

Cons

I am still exploring this project and I didn't find any higher priority cons but it will be more beneficial if there are some kind of tutorials or brief explanation for user who are switching from another platform to this one. Also need to improve customer support for newbies.

The only recommended tool for container orchestration

Reviewed 2 years ago

We are using this tool from last 2 years on production and we really never faced any issues related to CI/CD. Also once it is deployed it really automates lot of processes.

Pros

Easily configurable using YAML file. Highly scalable at production level. Pods, cluster and services are highly configurable and awesome features available in this tool. Easily deployable on cloud servers and fast CI/CD setup. User friendly dashboard and huge community support available.

Cons

Needs very in depth knowledge before working on it. Process of creating and setup PODs and Cluster very expensive service. Terminal commands are confusing for beginners.
