Pros

The account reps I have had for the past several years have been amazing. You need to get to know as many people as you can at Kaseya and learn to work as a team with them and you will be very happy.
My engineers love the Kaseya VSA, ease of use and speed. We have been a long time Kaseya partner and plan to continue our great partnership.
Fantastic product that provides the ability to securely manage and monitor your managed service customers.

Pros

This tool has been great for us. It’s very user friendly which was better then other ticketing systems we looked at.
I loved this as a startup MSP and i used it for many many years. The inventory control was an awesome add on as well as the help desk.
Spiceworks is a wonderful 'all-in-one' helpdesk solution. Providing monitoring, tickets, resource planning, wonderful community and it's all FREE.

Cons

Kaseya support is terrible, I mean really terrible. I think they only have one level 2 technician because the same guy gets back to me when the first guys can't fix it.
Terrible customer service, NO Support, slow, lousy features for the price. Constantly have to uninstall live connect and reinstall.
The lack of a 64 bit agent until recently was a pain point for a while. Updating Live Connect is time consuming.

Cons

The lack of expansion, the inability to associate it with a proper SQL server instead of their SQLite DB, which caused massive slowdowns as we got more tickets and became a larger organization.
Emails sent to Spiceworks are converted to plain text with attachments, so tables and in-line images are lost.
It does lack some features that you get from a paid alternative such as Autotask,, things such as integrating into an RMM system.

central portal for remote management and service desk.

Pros

live connect and remote control of endpoints is great. KSDU is nice when it works but the reporting isn't accurate. Service Desk module is good and we use it everyday.

Cons

SQL backend makes updates a pain. Everytime we update we have issues. Would love to migrate to the cloud but no migration options are available.

The liveconnect feature is quick, and vital to our operations. Multiple techs use this every day for our onsite support.

Cons

We have continually lost functionality. The latest victim is the iPad app for the help desk. We have over 75 techs that rely on this every day and we are wondering what is next for us with this portion of the product.

Like the product, but support is disappointing. We have used this product for over 7 years. I am told every year that they are improving their support, and I should wait and see. Still waiting...

Pros

Probes are very easy to depoly and get up and running. In addition there are many products it integrates with.

Cons

Their support desk is very unreliable and often tickets can go many days without any feedback.

Kaseya touts a powerful system, but their Mac support is poor and their alerting is confusing compared with others.

I feel that this software is better for people who are extremely tech savvy and can tell right off which alerts can be ignored, and which ones are legitimate. We received thousands of alerts per month, with only maybe 10% of them being actionable items. This service ended up being quite a time-consuming. Also, with its per-agent pricing, the costs got a bit out of control.

Pros

It is easy to deploy Kaseya. I like the integration with the Amazon cloud backup and the antivirus. The dashboard looks nice, and you can run custom scripts to help maintain your systems.

Cons

Many extraneous alerts come through, and it's difficult to manage which monitors you want. Also, it advertises Mac support, but the agent crashes on Mac quite a bit and there aren't half as many management features on Mac as their are on PC. Every time Apple OS updates, there's a problem with the Kaseya agent. We switched off of this software. It is very expensive for what it does, and there are good alternatives.

Cons

The learning curve can be steep, and given that the tool is so robust, it can be overwhelming to lower level technicians. However, I think this is mitigated by the available training.

Pros

Live Connect has been a great addition to the RMM Platform. We use service desk for our helpdesk ticketing system and enjoy the many ways it can be tweaked to fit .

Cons

Getting the solution setup was a difficult task, especially the service desk. I with there was more options/fields for asset tracking and management. Fields like Purchase Date, Expiration Date/Renewal Date, automated checks for Dell warranty information, domain expiration tracking.

Good feature of software but better not to use if you are not familiar with it. Very poor customer service. They don't care about you just want you to pay for thier software even you are with for many years.

Pros

A lot of good feature for IT Management Software. On the cloud.

Cons

Very poor customer service. I can say no after sales customer service at all. No phone number can be contact for urgent issue. You need to submit a few times of ticket to get reponse. Submitted ticket take more than 24 hrs to reponse. Very confuse of ticket submit link from the website. Be aware of account payment, they will lock you out without notice if you miss the payment. They don't care you are using the software for your business.

Helps my IT staff with their day to day work making them more productive

Pros

Easy to use and very reliable. Love the remote access tools to keep track of all the systems in the office. Weather it be patch management, cloud backup. deploying software or just remote desktop support Kaseya has it all! If my user base is in or out of the office at a client site, Kaseya is there to help manage their computers with just a click!

Cons

Kaseya support is sometimes slow to respond and resolve tickets at times. I'm not sure if its a language barrier, or maybe I am just not explaining the issues clearly it usually takes a few attempts over a couple of days to get a resolution to an issue,

Pros

I have logged, literally, thousands of hours in Kaseya. As stated above, I can do more in the VSA than if I'm in front of the PC. Hugely powerful. People ask me "So what kind of things have you done with Kaseya besides just remote into a desktop"? Then I give them a simple example, such as how I wrote a small agent procedure that allowed me to uninstall Office 2010, install Office 2013, and activate...

Cons

Identifying a con is tough. The only drawback I would point out is that for brand new users there can be quite a bit of learning curve when you delve into the really powerful features. For example, writing complex agent procedures takes experience. That being said, the initial basic use of the most common features is easy to pick up right away, so even the learning curve isn't a big deal. When you're ready to "do more" and invest the additional time to learn the more advanced features, they're there waiting for you. For basic help desk folks, they may never need to go beyond the surface features.

Their tech support was very helpful in helping me to get it up and running initially. Overall I would recommend it to a MSP or IT director with a lot of computers and/or branch offices.

Pros

Kaseya VSA is very powerful and makes managing large groups of computers much easier. There are a number of different tools that allow remote control, remote task management, event monitoring, alarms, inventory and auditing, software inventory, push programs and patches and more. It's been around for quite a few years and is a leader in the MSP arena. I have the on-premises version and run it off of a local web server.

Cons

It's a little tricky getting it setup initially. I think the Cloud version would be much easier to implement but I opted for the on-prem version because it had a few more extra features and was less expensive.

It allows me to support large numbers of computers with the immediacy required in todays business environment. Single best piece of software in my business. We are able to be proactive, and at the same time react quickly when issues arise.

Pros

Remote control is lighting fast, Audit gives you everything you need to know, Scripting the most powerful piece of this software that differentiates from the rest, & automation a must for efficiency & immediate results.

Cons

Documentation is better than it used to be but not good. Needs more how to and examples in help. Needs to have real documentation.

Great software for remote computer management

I use this software to maintain computers and servers on several different networks. VSA gives me one spot where I can connect to and maintain resources across multiple companies and locations. I am not sure how we would manage all these assets without Kaseya VSA.

Pros

Remote management of all computers and servers. This is the best feature. As long as they are online I can access and maintain all computers on my network without actually having to be in the office. I can also set alerts that e-mail me if a server happens to go offline, which allows me to quickly respond before there is any real employee time loss.

Cons

While it is very versatile, it is not very refined. It takes a bit to get acclimated to how it works. Kaseya provides training to help with this.

Managing multiple company remotely.

Pros

Being able to manage multiple machines using just 1 platform. My favorite is being able to help users remotely and using live connect.

Cons

We are not told when certain bugs are in place. I would like to be more aware of current bugs so i know how to operate around them.

Overall I (and our business) have a very positive experience with the Kaseya VSA in our day to day operations. The VSA allows us to centrally manage all of our customer remote operations including Endpoint Security, Backup of differing technologies, Patching, monitoring and remote access. The VSA also allows us to provide many of these same benefits to our customers which we support, enabling them to have a similar positive experience when needing to access their own systems.

Pros

I am most impressed by the functionality and ease of use of the Kaseya VSA for everyday operations, from the perspective of a managed services provider. Supporting our customers in a way that allows quick resolution of their issues is a driving force behind our software purchasing mandate, and the Kaseya VSA allows for this without being cumbersome to use.

Cons

My primary issue with the Kaseya VSA is around the licensing model. We run an on-premise VSA, but would prefer to have the flexibility of a monthly subscription service around our licensing as this is how our customers consume services in the cloud driven era we live in.

Kaseya VSA - Not just for MSPs

Kaseya VSA has helped me overcome hurdles with outdated software, missing updates, and deployment of new software. I used Kaseya to locate which devices are using old version of Office and using Windows version XP, 7 and and 8 and 8.1. This has helped me in the process of updating all of our devices to the newest Office and Windows 10.

Pros

Kaseya VSA is not only for MSPs, but for anyone who needs help managing their assets in the office and in the field. I'm the IT Security Manager with all the hats in the IT world at a large confectionery broker. I manage over 250+ devices on my own, with the help of Kaseya VSA. I could not do my day-to-day job without Kaseya VSA.

Cons

I'm not a fan of the app as the functionality seems to be spotty. Right-clicking the client app sometimes brings up a menu, and sometimes it only offers a simple selection of "Refresh". This is my only gripe in the 3 years I've been using this product.

Overall positive experience with Kaseya so far, but getting down to brass tacks.

This software allows my company to support and manage the networks, workstations, servers, and technology of our customers. It allows our technicians to remotely access and administer customer systems, automate maintenance tasks, monitor security and end user behavior, and also gives us a direct link into Kaseya's BMS product for support desk access with direct customer asset access and information. It has saved us many labor hours through automation of system patching and simple end user request or issue resolution.

Pros

I very much like Kaseya VSA's patch management capabilities, discovery, remote control and Live Connect, as well as the many integrations with 3rd party products. VSA has made troubleshooting and reporting on ours and our customer's networks exponentially easier. I like that Kaseya is plotting out a roadmap to a software version that encompasses all aspects of Managed IT Services, and am looking forward to the next release.

Cons

I am not particularly fond of Kaseya's Cloud Backup integration with Acronis, and while customer support was exceptionally good prior to our purchase, and for almost the next full year after, it seems that there have been some internal changes of late. We've had 4x account representatives in the 1.5 years we've been using VSA, and this last fellow just isn't cutting it. I've also noticed that our version (permissions) to the SAAS VSA do not reflect the same dashboard as others and getting features added or removed has been a process.

Pros

There seems to be a ton of options! We're not using to it to it's full extent, but the possibility of doing so is exciting.

Cons

There are so many buttons and I don't know what they mean! The VSA Review program you have in place is excellent to help me get my head around all of the potential of Kaseya.

Pros

The ease of remotely accessing devices to help resolve issues is amazing. Not to mention the remote aspects of running procedures for software means we don't have to connect to any device.

Cons

Reports are confusing to generate and take multiple steps to get the desired results.

One of the best RMMs available for managed service providers

I absolutely love Kaseya VSA. It's made managing client endpoints and servers a breeze.

Pros

The If/Then style of scripting is easy to figure out and hit the ground running. Software management does a pretty good job with Windows and 3rd Party Patching, to where I don't feel like I need any additional software to help me maintain this.

Cons

The interface makes it feel a little overwhelming for someone new. It's difficult to find things/features because of how capable the software is.
