Pros

This software is very full-featured and allows quite a bit of granular control and automation.

Remote access, auditing, reporting, patch management, scripting....the list goes on.

Pros

Live Connect is a great feature, giving everything from remote support sessions to remote shell access.

Cons

The user interface is a little dated, and before you learn it can be cumbersome to get around in.

Kaseya is designed for IT Personnel. It is hard to use, but worth it. It can do almost anything.

Kaseya helped me to manage all my customer's asset under single tool.

Central Management of all the assets and remote support

Pros

Centralized patch management and asset audit with automated monthly reports.

Cons

Chat feature is not upto the mark, customizing a report is not user friendly, patch management is still having issues, there is no time based password generation for the technician to login the server. doesn't reads the backup details of third party backup softwares like veeam, shadow protect.

Kaseya is the most powerful Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) software available on the market.

Pros

Automation Ease of use Fully Featured Great integration

Cons

you have to contact a rep, they have to build a quote, you approve the quote, they send the request to tech to generate your licenses. now you have to pay them 3 time or 4 time a month for multiple agreements.

Recommendations to others considering Kaseya VSA

I spent 3 year evaluating RMM software. I started with spiceworks. I checked out labtech, they require Microsoft.net framework and a 50 MB+ download for their windows only administration tool. And the interface is complicated. ConnectWise will try to sell you labtech because they own it. but don't buy into their pitch. buy the platform you find easiest to use. Kaseya is webbased, use a mac? yep you can administer your client, no tool to download

Powerful software, difficult company

However after investing hundreds of hours into custom scripts and researching and designing monitoring.. switching RMMs is not an easy task.

Pros

Their remote control tool is extremely fast.

Cons

Despite massive growth, management overhauls, and continued change.. the company has and still seems to feel as though their clients are an afterthought.

Kaseya touts a powerful system, but their Mac support is poor and their alerting is confusing compared with others.

Also, with its per-agent pricing, the costs got a bit out of control.

Pros

I like the integration with the Amazon cloud backup and the antivirus. The dashboard looks nice, and you can run custom scripts to help maintain your systems.

Cons

Many extraneous alerts come through, and it's difficult to manage which monitors you want.

It has been very good at alerting, monitoring and backups.

Pros

Patch Management, Remote Monitoring and Scripting LiveConnect, plug-ins, Automation Exchange.

Cons

terrible customer service, NO Support, slow, lousy features for the price Constantly have to uninstall live connect and reinstall. Seems the only way to maintain good connections.

the almost unlimited options of monitoring capability's and that windows update works semi well on machines.

Cons

how you go about setting up the monitoring and that you need a secondary monitoring tool to monitor networks or to sync machines and tickets you need to buy yet a nother tool that they dont tell you about

We do all of our management for remote agents with this software but would look elsewhere if it was not so hard to switch and if we did not have so much money invested in the product.

Pros

It has been very good at alerting, monitoring and backups.

Cons

We have had lots of problems with remote control, sometimes it works, then it breaks and then they fix it.

Flexibility, control and strong management capabilities.

Pros

Policy Management has been a big change to the way settings are enforced and monitored. Ease of use with KRC and LiveConnect Extensions has given our level 1 techs faster resolution times.

Cons

There is a massive learning curve for my developers understanding some of the procedure development methods. It's very powerful but sometimes counter-intuitive for people with a background in common languages. Some settings that you would think would be under a certain module are hidden in other locations, but that's understandable given the development changes.

Automating tasks & automating the monitoring of infrastructure saves me lots of time.

Pros

I have found that VSA is so feature rich that you can do basically everything you need from an MSP standpoint.

Cons

Probably one of the more negative things is the lack of a quality iPhone/Android application to assist with monitoring alerts.

We use it for monitoring, backups, anti-virus, reporting, etc.

Cons

Configuration. If you are new to the system, it can be very difficult to configure. The settings are so granular, it can be a bit cumbersome to get everything figured out. Once done, everything works very well.

I also find the Live Connect functions to save time not always having to VPN in to different clients to gain remote access to client PC's.

Pros

Easy to navigate dashboard. Scripting works well and has some nice functionality already out of the box.

Would like to see third party updating added with out an add-in.

Kaseya VSA is made for a company that is 100% Remote

VSA gave us the ability to manage completed remote laptops from a central console. Something as simple as changing the administrator password remotely is priceless to us.

Pros

This new module detects all vulnerabilities (including 3rd party software) and can be as automated as you want it to be.

Cons

Reporting could be better, but that seems to be the case with most software.

For an established RMM tool, one would expect better performance and reliability.

Pros

The ability to categorize a site into subsites, creating tasks from scripts is very easy (although creating your own is not for the majority of users), easy to install.

Cons

Constant disconnects, too many steps to accomplish tasks that other RMM tools do much better, Live Connect is not seamless and requires logging into almost every time, registry editor does not show actual data and only keys, navigation in the menu does not always pull results, saved credentials suddenly no longer work, no ability to drag and drop from local to remote and vice-versa....there are honestly too many negative aspects to the program compared to other tools out there.

As a managed services provider, we thrive on all the diferent combinations of services that is easy created with Kaseya VSA.

Pros

The user role system can be customized for many levels of security and the API-access is complete.

Cons

Apart from the basics, the learning curve is pretty steep and the GUI is in need of an innovative overhaul. The servicedesk-module had hugh potential, but was unfortunalty discontinued and left a big hole in the suite.

Automation Ease of use Fully Featured Great integration Pretty good selection of add-ons to extend services out to other areas (SSO, PSA, etc)

Cons

Purchasing new agent licenses is difficult slow, lousy features for the price The UI needs an update, and some of the workflows are less than ideal
