I mostly use JIRA to collaberate with developers when going through Agile sprint cycles. A really neat feature that has been extremely useful is the functionality to be able to vote on specific stories. When I started a project, I asked the Business Analysts of the different regions to vote on the stories they found were the most important. This enabled me to get a holistic view to plan my sprint more effectively.
I think what I like most with this software is how simple it is to use and collaberate with. JIRA is extremely straightforward and one can quickly become comfortable in JIRA after just a few minutes of playing around with the UI. Software that user friendly yet that is so extensive in it's use to collaberate is simply wonderful.
I have not encoutered something that I have found annoying and/or problematic when using JIRA. It is an incredible piece of software.

I was planning and tracking a personal project of reasonable size. Overall I would not go back to Jira simply because some of the simpler things never worked. The more complex things worked well, but... basics first, right?
I've tried a few Jira-like products. Initially I liked Jira a lot - some things are very easy, and the set up is basically instant. It lets you integrate many things in one place
Sometimes the integrations break without explanation. After weeks I still couldn't get issues update when I committed and pushed. Instructions I found online did not solve the issue and many other people seemed to complain of the same thing.

Totally recommend it for developers.
The way you are tracking the bugs in an easy and interactive way. Very rich in usability for developers and the way you can import the data from other systems as well. Customizable in regard to dashboards and nonetheless the presence of the mobile app which increases portability a lot.
In some cases it may need heavy customization in order to be simple enough for non-technical people.

Very straightforward UI and easy to use. I never have to look long to find what I need, unlike other software such as Azure DevOps.
I wish that there was dark mode so that the strain on my eyes could be reduced. No complaints about the UI or functionality.

Very good application for bug tracking and widely used product
It’s easy to use and developers or testers can use this to track the defects. Easy to collect matrix data for defects for tracking.
It has field which shows root cause analysis and what’s fix . Which gives good information about the defects

There were endless features with this software, and it was great for larger teams.
I felt like instead of naturally linking everything together, you had to purchase each thing that you needed. This various software sets were hard to justify when it came to cost since we were a small dev team.

My overall experience is still very positive, as it has allowed me to successfully collaborate with otter designers, developers and senior decision makers on web app/website projects.
I have recently started using Jira again since Atlassian released a major UI rework - and I like that the software is a lot more intuitive to use. It's easier to scan the kanban board now the visual hierarchy has been improved. As a designer, the issue creation/watching system has made the process of communicating with developers very easy!
It goes without saying, I do sometimes find Jira difficult to navigate - especially when there are quite a few projects. Perhaps the user onboarding could be improved - maybe something as simple as a product tour would help improve my navigation understanding.

JIRA is a great tool for agile software development that has given us greater transparency and productivity. It's very intuitive to set up and use. As an admin setting up everything, you can set up a new scrum/kanban project in only a few clicks and get to work. As a developer using JIRA, the interface is very visual, making it a breeze to understand the state of a project in a glance. It's also a breeze to create and track new issues, and updating the status of tasks is as easy as a drag and drop. All of these added up to a quick and painless adoption for my teams.
Drag and drop GUI, convenient keyboard shortcuts, automated issue tracking/reporting, time tracking as a part of workflow, customizable workflows, responsive customer service, simplified billing.
Options for agile issue tracking are a bit overly constrained, menus/submenus are huge and load slowly, learning curve to truly customize (mainly due to the terminology they assign to their features), increasingly cluttered team member list as people come on and off the project (since you can't delete users if they've interacted with JIRA issues).

Before Jira we used to send our business requirement via e-mail to our IT developers. Due to the overload and high demand from users it was not possible to keep track and to follow the status of the requirements. Jira offered the possibility to schedule the time when the request will be accomplished and meanwhile you could check on the status up-date . Also by the key-words you could search all the open requirements from other departments before sending the request, in this way if the request was already addressed from another department you don't have to open a ticked.
It is well organised with the approval level and the time schedule .Also you can specify the importance of the requirements and follow up the status of the job done and you can make changes and up-dates in the same request .
Well so far I am satisfied with the software.

I've been using JIRA for about 4 months. It makes my life easy as it tracks the progress of the User story I'm working on. But once I had bit unfortunate incident where I created a sub-task incorrectly, so that I wanted to delete it. But I couldn't as that feature was lacking. So, despite some features are lacking JIRA is a pretty good project management tool for developers
JIRA helps us to plan and manage our sprint work easily. As it tracks progress of each user stories it's very helpful for the team to have an idea about the sprint progress. This helps the team for next sprint planning sessions.
Sometime it's bit frustrating as it lacks some major features. As an example if we create sub-task on a particular User story, it can't be deleted. It can only be renamed. This is one major feature which is lacking.

Supports management of project in Agile methodology as well as scrum and kanban therefore its a complete tool for developers.
Agile development is taken to another level with the help of this program. Has cloud support thus backup is enhanced, integrates with most IDEs, can reports arising issues and bug checks.
Even though its an awesome program implementing it on local servers can be very expensive.

We use because our developers do. I can only speak to the end-user experience, and I do not love it. I suppose if you were more technical it would make more sense to you. I prefer the lighter version, Trello, for project management from a end user perspective.
I am able to navigate as an end user (client of web developers that use the platform).
If you venture off from the path you are on in the software, it is easy to get lost. Not user friendly for the novice.

I have used JIRA while working as an expert Java Enterprise developer. I gound it very useful in task assignment and progress tracking.
Its easy to assign tasks to each other and track progress of your sub-ordinates. It gets attached to numerous plugins which is awesome.
It is paid. Atleast for small teams like 10 people it should be free of cost with all functionalities.

It was a flexible system to tracking IT end-user tickets and requests. I was not a developer, just a PM, so it seemed to take some time for the developer's to implement workflow changes, but that was more to do with their workload than the software.
Used this for tracking tickets and changes in IT environment. Was very customizable, had a good user interface, and great for multiple team members.

Easy way to connect testers with developers for seamless communication
We use JIRA as a way to communicate with beta testers and it provides an easy way to essentially track feedback and pass it on for implementation.
Support is slow. I've waited a long period of time for responses to tickets. It makes for worrisome times as you want a fast response to resolve the issue.

I use it because the developer teams use it. If it wasn't for this, I'd exclusively use Trello, or something more simple!
As an issue tracking tool, Jira is second to none. Immense customisation, ability to integrate with almost everything.
Incredibly complex, with inconsistent UX across the Atlassian product suite. Can only work well if behaviour fits with the software.

I would really love to give JIRA (and other Atlassian products) 5 starts, but over the years I have experienced some major growing pains. In version 4 they majorly changed the UI in a way that almost rendered it unusable. Luckily they corrected this in later versions. It's been a while since I've looked at the underlying codebase, but it was based on some really ancient java frameworks. I'm guessing by this point, most of that code has been rewritten (or at least I hope so). Running the on-prem version will require someone with sys admin knowledge, and java knowledge will be helpful as well. Running the cloud version is much easier, but if you're looking to service a user base larger than 25 people, you will be shocked to learn that the cloud version does not support typical SSO technologies. I set-up the Service Desk plugin only to learn that it's completely useless for my organization. Atlassian doesn't seem the least bit concerned and directed me toward the on-prem version. Aside from these complains, JIRA really is one of the best tools out there and it could be much greater if Atlassian would address these issues.
