Pros

Not enoughreviews yet

Pros

The best features of Slack are its innovative interface and easy to use features. Slack makes it simple, and even kind of fun, to communicate with your coworkers quickly.
I like the different slack channels for various departments, tech-support, team, individual messaging, and celebrating my teams successes or helping each other out with account challenges.
Slack has been a winner for me no matter which role I am filling. Teams adopt it quickly it's easy to use, easy to set up, and has abundant opportunities for integrations.

Cons

Not enoughreviews yet

Cons

While they are only visible to me, I am always worried that I accidentally posted something wrong.
I disliked the inability to make a public group "private" after it's creation. Would occasionally lag and my.
I hate hate hate how often I struggle with using the video share and audio when someone calls me on slack. It almost never works for me.

employee voice during lockdown

Reviewed 6 months ago

once you share any link related to software, it suggests the plugin available for integration and we do use it vastly to share the android apk test builds across team using android apk generator

Pros

it is very easy to use and has both desktop and mobile versions enabling it to be used from anywhere. It's most feature is that it allows to create groups with different company members as well so inter-company communication becomes so easy along with intra company. it gives free hand on the number of people that can be added in the group and infact whether to make them public or private. Huddle is so useful. It's like just click and get connected and also notifies with a tone when other person doesn't connect in huddle.

Cons

there are no different settings for desktop and mobile. I have turned off notifications on my mobile but now notifications don't work on desktop too.

Can't function without Slack

Reviewed 4 years ago

Slack is my primary communication channel. As a manager, I often have questions coming at me from all angles. For many discussions, it's much more efficient to have them on Slack rather than via email. It also allows for much more (and much more organized) cross-departmental collaboration and communication.

Pros

Everything--the groups, the ease, the ability to create separate conversation threads within a conversation. Also love the giphy generator and the ability to create polls with Polly.

Cons

I wish when someone dropped me a document, it would just automatically download and open, or even if you could preview it like you can in Outlook. Also the search functionality could be improved.

Good IM software

Reviewed 4 years ago

It has been one year of use, and for team communication worked good. To better the notification system and direct login to all channels could be an improvement that will make me to think about a come back to this software.

Pros

Once installed is simple and intuitive, the GIF generator is a plus when you want to keep the conversation interesting. Useful when you want to connect to a huge amount of platforms.

Cons

Messages are easily lost in all the channels you can construct. Sometimes the notification system is too much. Is not possible to direct access a channel from a client, you should all the times login the client channel.

Love how entertaining and easy slack is to use. We have certain other system connected via API making it a nice centralized place to view data/messages.

Pros

You can completely control the groups and individual contributors needed for each conversation. The ability to add custom emoji/effects is great. Not to mention out of the box giphy generator! I love this feature so much, as it allows for a much more entertaining conversation.

Cons

Slack is a fantastic team communication platform.

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

I love the channels that you can create based on different projects. I also love the fact that it is quick and does not require you to check your "inbox" like email. It is also easily searchable which is fantastic.

Cons

The thing I like least about Slack is the fact that each time you join a new team, you are required to create a new username and password. It would be great if you could have one username and password for the entire Slack community.

Slack

Great for team communication

Reviewed 4 years ago

This has helped change the dynamic of "work". It allows for remote work and near seamless communication. Nothing beats a phone call, which the Slack calls work fairly well. The marketplace is great for anything you want to add.

Pros

- Connecting with teams - Great and growing marketplace - Adding multiple workspaces on the app - Password magic link comes in handy! - Easy space creation and administration

Cons

In my experience as a user at other companies, it's very hard to use at scale for groups/teams/companies more than 500 users/employees. Depending on administration, it's annoying to default public/private channels. Let users choose and then file a ticket/notify the admin if they don't have access to do so.

Pros

Slack for communities and remote work

Reviewed 4 years ago

I have mixed love/hate for Slack. I've used it to interact with the global WordPress community since 2017 and it has proved indispensable in that regard. I started using it for work just over a month ago and the experience has been quite different from how I previously used slack to communicate with open source communities in a private space. The main thing we use slack for at work is to connect it...

Pros

Persistent storage of messages across platforms. Markdown formatting and emoji shortcuts. Integration with a large number of online services. The free version is good enough for most of my uses

Cons

Extremely resource heavy. My computer hangs at times when using Slack. I have to create an account and password for every community I join. Why Can't I have one password attached to one email address for all of Slack. Slack is not popular locally ( Zimbabwe ), so local software communities are mostly built on WhatsApp

Best Personal and Interoffice Communication System Ever!

Reviewed 4 years ago

It's multi-platform functionality makes it ideal for communicating anytime, anywhere. It's not as invasive as texts but still allows you to be productive no matter the time of day or location. You're able to control almost any and all settings available. The ability to also have multiple channels AND multiple Slack workspaces on one device/screen is fantastic.

Pros

It's flexible with nearly everything I need to do. Whether it's create a poll, share documents/pictures, or just simple chats, the ability to talk to as many or as little people as I want to is amazing. It's also fun to see all of the "unique" things that can be done with it too (giphy, random number generator, emojis, etc.).

Cons

The cost. I understand they're a business and have to make money, but the price structure for number of users/channels/features is a bit steep. I'm only able to take advantage due to my company's purchase, but I would love to have this accessibility personally outside of being able to chat with a few people. The cost is holding me back.

I had an excellent experience and I will continue to use as much as possible.

Pros

I loved using this software to communicate with my colleagues. This program made it super easy to communicate while we were on the phone with a customer if we needed support.

Cons

The only trouble I ever had was needing my password reset and it took more than a day for me to be able to get back on the program.
