I am hopeful that the team will be able to develop some reporting through BI or more customization comes available.
I have only been in the role for a month. Not sure yet.
I would have liked to see more out of the box customization. Portal lacks customization. Reporting lacks customization. I wish the inventory tool was more customizable.

Overall, we have had a generally positive experience with Service Desk, we would just like to see them mature out more of their features
A few of the things that I like most about Service Desk is the ease of learning to use it. I was able to go from one ticket management system to this one in a single day of training and have had almost no issues in terms of knowledge gaps. Their customer support is top tier and their change management workflow is one of the best I've seen.
Reporting. By that I mean the lack of reports and reporting tools. It would be nice to be able to build out our own or create our own reports. A BI tool in this application would really put it over the top.

The power points in using a hosted solution are functionality, speed, intuitiveness, reliability, and cost effectiveness. Samanage has succeeded in all these areas. Long live companies that work hard to get it right.

Been with Samanage almost 2 years now and I'm not sure how we got by without it. We will use it forever.
It is easy to use and very powerful.
It finds most software licenses with the exception of Microsoft Office which ironically is the one most important to our organization.

We now know how our IT department's time is spent, who are the users who need more help etc.
I like the ease of use and how quickly we were up and running with Samanage. The implementation was virtually painless and went very quickly.
The only thing I have a problem with, and I hope they correct it soon, is that it will not pull the Microsoft Office Licenses.

Pro = Samanage's software agent automatically report install software and reconciles it against software contracts and license. This feature alone allows us to tell Microsoft and their band of auditors to bug off as we can provide everything they need in a simple query. Cons = We have to pay for it :)

Getting up and running with SAManage asset management is truly simple. Just install an agent via group policy and within 1/2 hour your assets are logged and being tracked. Never an issue with agent check and no increase in bandwidth. Interface in clean and fresh. I great feature is that all of your warranty info is tracked right from the asset. We would like for there to be a more clear differentiation between the various software reports so we can use SAManage for software assets in a more friendly version when reporting to Microsoft licensing. All in all, SAManage does a great job in asset managing and tracking.

Personalisation Oriented Enterprise Self Service environment – empowers users to create personal reports that can be shared. Power BI Service, Premium Service, Desktop, Gateway(cloud) options Power BI Online / Service is cheaper Analytical features are almost equivalent except for Forecasts Integration with Bing Maps Power BI Service (Online) integrates with R as of June 2017
No Storyboarding capability Lots of custom visualizations although error-prone and not flexible to use Data level blending only. Joins are also pretty basic. LEFT or RIGHT Joins are not supported. Joins can be addressed at DAX level but too complicated

Power BI is a visually appealing analytics program that includes reporting, data preparation, and data visualization features. Our company use Power BI largely to visually display the day.
The Power BI dashboard is amazing. It can be used to display updating real time data. Power BI language, DAX which is used to write formulas is extremely simple to understand and it is also extremely powerful. There are many tutorials in YouTube to learn Power BI and DAX language which I also used to learn.
It's nearly impossible to share the visualizations you've generated without paying for a Power Bi Pro account. It's difficult to share your work with someone who isn't paying for the service with POWER BI. And also the paid service is somewhat expensive.

We use it for some reporting however have moved to Tableau mainly because the buy in towards Tableau is greater.
It is fairly easy to use and allows for a great variety in visualizations. Fairly cheap compared to other competitors and the free option is a bonus. The community providing new visualizations is a great bonus as well.
Other platforms like Tableau are much easier to use in terms of self-service BI and seem to do better performance wise

Overall experience has been good with very little to complain about.
We have developed an integration from our FSM into this and it is solving for the multi channel reporting we needed.
I do not have any complaints to list or dislikes. I guess the only downside is the high price for this service.

Microsoft Power BI has allowed us to create meaningful dashboards and KPI's for our executive team. It has been implemented company wide and is gaining traction among users due to it's ease of use.
PowerBI is extremely versatile and can be connected to a multitude of data sources. After the initial introduction, it is very user friendly. PowerBI also has incredible visual capabilities.
The divide between the desktop app and the service can sometimes be annoying. For power users, they will probably just use the desktop app.

Overalll the tool is really helpful for us to analyze the weekly cases intake. We also integrated it with MATLAB to issue the database queries to get the required data in MAT files.
we use powerbi to generate reports to handle the weekly service requests. We have a large database of our service requests and we use Power Bi to get the data which is very large in size and then use this tool to genrate reports from already customised template which we created using this tool.
The tool is very big and takes a lot of space and memory. Therefore it s slow sometimes, which is irritating sometimes.

PowerBI is a powerful data visualization program available as a desktop app (PowerBI Desktop) or as a cloud app (PowerBi Server). This makes it very easy to utilize whether you are chained to your desk or out on a sales call or presentation. The number of ways to visualize your data are too numerous to count, and reports can be Section 508 compliant (US Government standard for Americans with disabilities) with just a few clicks. Plus, report themes (used to make your reports more colorful) are easy to create and use within PowerBi.
New users may encounter a steep learning curve, but Microsoft's online documentation is robust and covers any issue new or seasoned users would encounter.

1. Dax query is highly reliable when comes to slice and dice the granular level data based on time trend. 2. Embedded report and dashboard in any kind of business applications easily and it becomes part of it.
1. Free desktop tool for development(Power BI Desktop) and simple installation process. 2. Almost, we can connect many source to fetch the data. Ex csv, web, excel, sql, odbc etc.., 3. Specialized ETL(Extract, transform, load) to clean the raw unstructured data into structured data with help of Power Query. 4. Powerful DAX query to customized measure and calculated column to get desirable business metrics and KPIs. 5. Top standard visuals, Custom visuals(visual market) and also we can create our own visuals using reactjs. 6. Publish in cloud(azure) to view report anywhere in the world with help Power BI service. 7. High availability and low latency to view report and dashboard with help of xVelocity engine. 8. Anyone can easily create basic charts with structured data.
1. Power BI Desktop consumes a huge amount of resource in system. 2. Service monitoring increases for larger report consumers. 3. While dealing with an enormous volume of data, constant optimization takes place.

Overall was good experience with power bi. Its give multiple valuable business insights which cant be seen in raw data. Convenient as compared to other options which are available in market.
Easy and simple to use Cheaper than others Have Microsoft excel integration which makes easier to understand for the people who already had the knowledge of excel. We can use custom Visualizations Provide regular updates by considering the suggestions given by the user community. Easy to understand. Anyone who is having average excel skills can start using power bi.
We can't connect power bi with Google sheets whereas other business analytics tool can. For 3rd party web sources there is lack of data sources. Power bi service layout which Microsoft recently changed

PowerBI is great because it integrates into the Windows ecosystem well. Because it's well-integrated, users will be familiar with more of the tool than some of the competitors tools (assuming that they're coming from the Windows platform). The visualization features are fairly powerful, and if implemented in this manner, it can be used to power a website, which allows end-users to slice and dice real-time data.
Like many data platforms, it can be difficult to learn and there are some limitations in the software, but as it's a subscription service, I would expect that enhancements will be made over time.

We needed to quickly build a dashboard to give a unified view of the progress of a large migration project with 4 views : users migrated, consumption of e-learning tools, support tickets, user satisfaction. With a little coaching by a Power BI expert, we could present a self-explanatory dashboard which perfectly fit the requirements. Simple is beautiful !
Power Bi is well integrated with the rest of the Microsoft Office suite and helps easily embark users relying on data to accomplish their daily tasks, through the self-service capabilities.
Data modeling and advanced statistical analysis require upfront investment in training, but it's worth the while.

Microsoft power bi is one of the best analytical service present in the analytics industry. Power BI gives cloud-based BI administrations.
Power BI's UI is genuinely instinctive for clients comfortable with Excel and its profound mix with other Microsoft items makes it an exceptionally flexible self-benefit device that requires minimal forthright preparing.
Not the best choice for managing mass data.

Over experience so far has been great and i love building reports using MS Power BI.
The best thing about MS Power BI is that developing reports is 100% free you only need to pay for licensing when you and to share it with other users. It's easy to use, very intuitive and supports hundreds of data sources.
There is nothing to dislike everything works perfectly. Although it would be great if it supported MySQL or AWS RDS as data sources on MS Power BI Service without having to rely on a custom Gateway.

Overall a great solution at a great price. Easy to learn, hard to master, but can deliver business benefit within hours. Usual admin and usability issues you get with MS products but O365 integration seems to be improving all the time and usability getting better.
Great visualisations and power out of the box. Reasonably easy to learn and great developer community. Fairly seamless link between desktop and the Power BI service. easy to set up links to on premise data sources.
Desktop app can be very resource hungry. Deploying model changes and reports to the Power BI service can be buggy. Admin can take some working out so permissions etc are set correctly. Browser version of editor is limited

I love being able to create lovely interactive reports, hiking up to Xero and getting a comprehensive multi page report on the data is amazing. But then it gets anything and confusing, of I'm online I can do this but can't edit in the dance ready as offline, I can't take the report offline... I can't create the Xero report offline and it turns out I can't edit it anyway. Some reports I can only create offline. I can export them online but they don't sync back, I can export and reimport if it was created offline. But not online. I am probably mis-remembering half of this. Confused by this review? I might be beginning to share the feeling of using Power BI.
Great looking interactive reports are relatively easy to create Integrates with many data sources
Confusing mix of software and service Confusing variety of abilities to connect with and interact with data sources, and it keeps changing Subscribers can't share reports other than publicly (perhaps) so everything setting the report has to subscribe (maybe)

The fact that I can manipulate and merge data and convert it into interactive charts and graphs. It is very visually appealing and also efficient.
It is a little tough to use and sometimes glitches and crashes. The customer service should also be improved, but I guess since it is a new product it might take some time getting the proper assistance set up.

The Desktop Version is awesome, provides multiple connectors to different data sources and powerful modelling capabilities so that I format my data exactly how I want it. It allows me to quickly create complex and beautiful visualizations in minutes as opposed to having to write code to do it.
- The desktop version is free which is great - Dozens of different support of data inputs so you can pull data from different multiple sources - Automatic update of data so the visuals are updated regularly - Easy to use, very intuitive - A host of different ways to visualize data with multiple visualization types.
- You need a business email address to register for the Power BI Service - Getting it to work as an embedded visualization in your own applications can be quite the hassle, you have to perform too many steps to get it working.

It's a great tool to start data analysis especially if you have Office 365 package as the software comes default in the package. So, no additional software cost.
The software has good support provided by Microsoft which makes learning quick. It has a lot of similarities with Excel especially with the DAX expressions which makes adoption easy. It also integrates with a variety of database and software's which makes data pull smooth.
PowerBI service has a sharing feature which lets you share dashboards with the team. However, the sharing is a premium feature which has a separate subscription. The app store does not have a variety of additional visualizations and you rely mostly on the default visuals.

It's a wonderful service. If you're looking for a product to give you all the information you need for real time snapshots of your companies sales you will be happy with PowerBI.
It's extremely easy to look at your real time sales numbers any time that you need the info quickly. The app was a little clunky when it was first unveiled, but it's great now. If you do have a problem customer service is always quick to help.
Sharing information with non users could be better. I usually compile and extract the info I want and share it by emailing a pdf.
