Splashtop is an improvement over my old access software

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Splashtop software has been a great improvement over Go to my pc which I used previously. The cost is much less and ease of use is much better. Specifically, fewer steps to get logged on is a tremendous bonus.

Cons

I don't know if it's a con but for me, there are too many options in the software. I just need the simple log-in but if you accidentally hit a button you may have to learn to fix it to make it work the way you want.

Great Product, Low Price

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

Splashtop has steadily been adding and updating features. The price is actually pretty decent when you compare it to other remote software like Logmein. I am to restrict access to certain computer for users/groups.

Cons

You can't update deployment modules once they are installed on a computer. Would be nice to be able to update the module on the web and have the computer check and adjust settings.

Splashtop is a great deal

Reviewed 4 years ago

I work remotely, for three jobs, and want to access other computers to work on different projects in different offices. I use 4 of my 10 allowed computers to access them whenever I need to login. I have never encountered a problem.

Pros

Splastop makes it quick and easy to securely access another computer. It works almost exactly the same as the big competitor in the industry for much less money and more computers that I can access for the same price.

Cons

I can't think of anything negative about Splashtop, other than the look-and-feel is not as slick as the product that I used to use?

Smooth Video

Reviewed 3 years ago

I have users working from home who work with video which is located on their in-office computers. They found TeamViewer to stutter as they played video. I read about Splashtop and gave it a try. It has all the TeamViewer like functionality we need but the big bonus was a smoother experience when playing video.

Pros

Setup was easy. Video streams smoothly.

Cons

I was a bit confused about finding the correct software package on the website. Once I figured it out all was great.

Vendor response

Love Splashtop!

Reviewed 2 years ago

Very easy to use. For years we had used a different competitor. They kept increasing their price too much every years so we left. Then we used another company for awhile but it was difficult to use and pricing was too high. So so happy we switched to Splashtop. Logging in is extremely simple. Navigating the screen is user-friendly. It truly feels like you are on the computer itself.

Pros

Very easy to use. For years I had used a different competitor. They kept increasing their price too much every years so I left. Then I used another company for awhile but it was difficult to use and pricing was too high. So so happy I switched to Splashtop. Logging in is extremely simple. Navigating the screen is user-friendly. It truly feels like you are on the computer itself. I don't need remote access often. Maybe once a week for 10 minutes. It doesn't make sense to pay crazy fees when access is minimal.

Cons

Getting used to downloading the app for the remote versus host computer was tricky and a little confusing.

Crisis Management

Reviewed 3 years ago

This has entirely saved my business during this crisis. We could not have managed this with out this type of solution. i expect that when things get back to "normal" we will be allowing our staff to work remotely much more often.

Pros

The best thing we found about Splashtop was the easy installation and set up. Like everyone else during this pandemic, we had to scramble to give our staff access to their desktops remotely. This all had to be done quickly and user friendly for some very non-technical staff members. Implementation went very smoothly and with only minor incidents, and most of those were user issues. What was also helpful was that it was across multiple equipment and operating system types. All have worked well.

Cons

The only issues I am hearing about are related to jumpy screens and disconnects, but I attribute that mostly to bandwidth issues with the user.

Great Product at a Reasonable Cost

Reviewed 2 years ago

Can't say enough good about the software, and for the price it just can't be beat. I've used other popular software in the past but comparing cost vs. features, Splashtop wins hands down.

Pros

It was so easy to purchase, administer, and implement. From deciding to purchase to being able to use it on multiple computers took only a couple of hours with minimal learning involved. Being able to work as if you were sitting right at your remote computer is impressive. No lagging has been noticed, and remote print and the ability to drag and drop files is seamless.

Cons

We've been using this software on a daily basis for the past two months and so far haven't found any limitations whatsoever, it's just like being at the office but better!

Easy to use

Reviewed 3 years ago

I did not realise how great it was to have access to my main pc whilst i was working away from home. For myself personally as the director and busy mum, it means that i don't lose hours when i have to drop the kids off at dancing and spend my time at a cafe working. I have now actually regained hours that i never had before. For my staff, it has created a more flexible working environment allowing staff to work from home if they suspect that they are ill, they need to stay home for the kids or would like to work after hours to get a piece of work done.

Pros

The software was very easy to implement into my practice especially at such short notice for my staff to work remotely. Staff were able to follow instructions easily and install the applications on their lap top with ease. Fantastic application for the size of my company.

Cons

Have not experienced any cons at this stage.

Easy to use, great features

I have had a few usability issues that support was able to clear up for me. I am now able to eliminate a more costly product and increase functionality.

Pros

Cons

Very little to not like as the product is so flexible.

Excellent access software

Perfect for our use and needs - has provided a great remote office when needed the most.

Pros

Seamless integration and use - it is as if I am sitting at workstation at the office. Two monitor setup works great.

Cons

Can take a while for a remote reboot - this may not be able to be fixed due to network constraints.

Splashtop

Reviewed 4 years ago

Love, love it! - and best of all the price . I am getting a lot of bang for my buck.

Pros

I loved the fact that it was easy to adapt to - after using another software for many years. The price of that software was creeping up, and could not justify keeping it at that price. I am saving over half of what my previous costs were with Splashtop

Cons

It took me a while to figure out how to zoom in when I was inside my clients laptop

Simple and easy to use remote desktop software.

Reviewed 6 years ago

Low cost, but a great product.

Pros

Easy to install, ability to set up computer groups, ease of creating user access rights, built-in feature to swap between monitors (if you accessing a system that has multiple monitors)

Cons

It does not display well if you try to remote in from a cell phone. If your connection drops, you have to wait a minute or two before you can log back in.

Great value for service/functionality

Reviewed 3 years ago

Allows me to remote access/control my retail POS. Has made life again easier as I turfed gotomypc.

Pros

Great functionality for remote access/control of another computer. The price is way better than gotomypc which I used for years before they jacked the price up yet didn't provide any additional value!

Cons

Remote printing sometimes doesn't work as expected.

Beat alternative to LogMeIn

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have used to use gotomypc and then LogMeIn and went looking for an alternative when they merged their companies and started escalating the cost and cramming additional "features" I didn't need. Password keeper and cloud storage specifically.

Pros

Set up and ease-of-use are intuitive and very straightforward.

Cons

The trackpad controls obscure the bottom of the screen.

Updates made this better

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

I liked how easy it was to create an account and download the software onto each computer. It also clearly explains which software is needed on which computer so that you can remote access with no issues.

Cons

At first, we were having issues with our connections dropping multiple times a day. However, there have been a few updates since we began using the software and those seem to have fixed some bugs. As a result, we have not had nearly as many interruptions. How quickly these updates came was a huge benefit. The first update improved our connections, but we were still having issues. The most recent update has made those issues almost non-existant. The few times we are still having issues appear to be more of an internet issue (lost internet connection on either end) and not a software issue.
