We printed less trip booklets this year (only for older leaders) and saved some money and time on preparing trip information. We've used it for 4-5 years now for our events and it's really been worth the money to all all event or trip info in one easy accessible location on your mobile app. The customer service has been great and the response time is within hours or a day.
Yapp mobile app is user friendly for the staff setting it up, efficient use of staff time, and helps manage info for your group at an event. I like that participant information can be uploaded all at once via CSV files, time saver!
We have to purchase a certain amount of apps in order to get the discount. We do not ever use all the apps but its cheaper to purchase the higher package. Maybe come up with a mid price discount or a discount for loyal customers? But this is a pricing suggestion, not a "like least" about software features.
So glad to hear that Yapp is paying for itself in time and printing costs, Jennifer. If I had to guess, your unusual pricing experience is due to the fact that you are grandfathered into a legacy plan that we no longer offer to new customers. Feel free to reach out to our support team if you would like someone to review that for you, though!

We are able to communicate more efficiently with employees and departments within our organization. I love the fact that it is similar to social media feeds. Comments and likes are great.
I like the feature of the timeline, with social media being used for everything now this app makes colleagues be involved within a work setting. The notifications of new posts is great. Yapp is easy to use and very similar to other social media platforms used.
I dislike the fact which we can not add more than one picture per post. Another con is not being able to upload videos or have the ability to go Live. I'd be great to have something similar to a story version of the most used social medias. We do have several departments and it would be great to have a section where videos can be posted to communicate information.

Overall, it's a simple platform that helps structure data, display it helpfully, and update it in-realtime for conference attendees. Not as fancy or feature rich as other platforms, but by far the most affordable. Simple and effective.
It is a very easy solution to use and accomplishes the desire of having a conference "app". Worth the money and can be used simply for data distribution and communication, or you can use more advanced features if desired. Compared to all the other enterprise systems out there, this is the only one that is anywhere affordable for a non-profit event.
A little more customization on the app pages designed for just content display would be nice, but the more custom you can get the more complex it gets. A few more built-in themes or styles for the app structure/layout would be nice, but again, keeping it simple can actually be a blessing. More dynamic linking of data would be helpful (being able to create instances of items and then link to it throughout the app rather than having to recreate the data on different pages).

I appreciated the ability to upload conference data with a CSV template, which saved so much time. I also felt it was easy to navigate, customizable enough to feel branded, and highly responsive for our needs.
I wish there were a better way to give speakers access to their speaker profile other than the "claim this page" function it currently uses.

Building out the app was very straightforward and simple. I loved the capability to schedule announcements, as it was crucial to why we used the app during our conference.
None that I can think of at this time. It achieved what I was looking for.

Great price. Simple, clean design with variety of templates to deliver information. Very responsive to questions or issues that need to be reviewed.
Yapp is a simple application to build and manage all information for conference attendees.
Would like to be able to execute real time polls or crowd source ideas — might need to brainstorm with one of your account execs to learn features we might bot be utilizing to fullest around ways we can leverage Yapp with audience engagement.

My overall experience has been very positive. Since day one, the staff at Yapp App has been very supportive and very quick to respond to any of the questions I had in terms of using the app and the features it provided. The chat feature they have is great and they respond to you quite quickly. Also, it is very cost-effective for what you get and you can choose to add additional apps if you decide you need more. I also like that once you retire an app, you have the ability to archive it.
This app has allowed me to seamlessly communicate with the attendees of our annual leadership summit. It was easy to learn how to use this app. There is no coding involved and each section can be customized to your liking. You can load schedules, bios, pictures, PDF, videos, etc. It also has instant messaging that allows you to quickly push out notifications. I love that you can create your content and when you are ready, you can simply push the publish button. We have also used it for other teams as well not just for our leadership summit.
I wish you could add a registration feature to the app with the ability to cap the attendees at a certain number for each workshop being offered. Possibly pushing this feature out first, before the entire contents of the app are populated.

Yapp is an incredible little application which has enhances our ability to communication and organize internal events. We use it internally for conferences with up to 2,000 participants where the individual schedule of events for each participant are published as part of their profile. As changes occur due to cancellations, or on the ground logistical challenges, these can be updated quickly keeping everyone organized.OUTSTANDING Support! As other reviewers have said, the support from Yapp is second to none. We push the limits but any time we have a question or concern, the quality and timing of the response has always exceeded our expectations.

While there are always opportunities for improvement or enhanced functionality, it's hard to find fault with anything in Yapp.While not a 'con' it would be nice to have couple of additional features:•Ability to add pages in other languages and add a language tag to people. If any page existed in the alternative language, present it rather than the English page.•Ability to add raw HTML to the about field in the people upload. This would allow for better formatting of the content in the about section (this is how we publish each individual schedule)

The app was easy to build and use for the attendees. There are no bells and whistles and once an attendee "claims" their profile if they are a speaker, you lose the ability to update that profile.
The software was easy to build and use for both the builder and attendee side.
Not able to schedule notifications / announcements ahead of time.

One strategy there could be to use separate person records for the attendee page and speaker page, so that the attendee record can be claimed and updated but the speaker profile stays in your control. Regarding scheduling notifications/announcements -- good news: we recently launched the ability to just that. Search "Scheduled posts" on help.yapp.us to learn more about this new feature.

This app is easy to use, intuitive, able to publish and make changes immediately without having to use a 3rd party/CS agent. I have used apps that are more expensive but have so many limitations on it that I always come back to Yapp. I can find work arounds for almost anything that i need. Additionally, my end users love using it - they love uploading photos and chatting with each other.

I researched several apps before choosing YAPP. This would be our organization's first time using an app for our annual conference. It took me less than a few days to become familiar with the layout of the app. It was very helpful to see other samples of conference apps. Staff is quick to response and even response after 6PM.
For the price, there are none. I would like to see the banner ad function added. I would like to be able to have the option to use the preset features or create your own.

I loved the bulk upload feature! It made inputting data so much of a quicker process.
My company uses Salesforce so having Salesforce integration would have been amazing. I also wish there was an option for attendees to upload documents themselves!

End user refreshing of app if clunky. It would be helpful to have the ability to rename some of the field headers.

We have used Yapp for several Conferences and user feedback is always very positive. Building the App and Admin is straight forward.
Ability to limit distribution to a list of users is a deal breaker for us. From an Admin perspective it is very easy to build, deploy and update Apps. The ability to import schedules, speakers, etc. from a CSV file is time saving and helpful.
So far, we have used Yapp exclusively for Conferences. While the App is great, the pricing model is unhelpful. On average, we build an App and use it for maybe 2 months (pre, during and post conference). However, we can't build a new app for the next conference within the same year without purchasing an additional App even though we are no longer using the App for the past conference. For us, it would be hugely useful if there were an option to license by Active Apps, i.e. be able to reuse the license when an App is archived, and/or have a monthly license. Would love to see some integrations with CRM, forms, etc.

Great customer support! Customer support is great. If the builder of the app does their part, you will end up with a fantastic product. Your apps can feature -discussion boards -picture walls (perfect for Selfie stations) -Twitter feed monitoring -Conference/event scheduling -A place to house your documents and maps (awesome for conference portability) -A customization engine that cements the professionalism of your organization
YAPP features an easy and intuitive user interface for creating a professional-looking mobile app which has TONS of functionality. I have been using the service for years, and have built multiple conference apps with it, all for public education, curriculum, instruction and leadership. If you look around at conferences, just about everyone will have their faces buried in their phones, tablets or laptops....
Entering the conference session data can be tedious, and there is really no way around this. However, if you use a spreadsheet to build your initial conference schedule layout, session description, location, and other pertinent data-- you can then use that spreadsheet to import your sessions with direct mapping. This saves you a big step when it comes to conference design, but it only works if you begin with the end product in mind and make that spreadsheet from the origins of the conference planning stages.

The functionality of Yapp has been spot on for some of my clients, especially ones with smaller events. Yapp's customer service is one of the best parts of working with the app. Their responses are always timely, and I like that it gives you information on how long it might be if it's going to be a little bit. They've also always seemed very open to suggestions and requests from users.
Yapp is incredibly user-friendly. Building it out took a little bit of exploring the first time, but I was quickly able to figure out how to build what my clients were expecting in an event app. The rich text pages allow for some good customization, and agenda and attendee uploads are streamlined and very easy to use. When the app is up and running and being used at an event, it seems to operate smoothly for attendees, and any updates I send populate quickly and easily.
Although the app does allow for some visual customization, especially on the rich text pages as mentioned above, it would be nice to have more customization options on some of the other page types. It would also be nice to have the ability to insert custom code to be able to do things like embed forms without having to send people out of the app.

I had/am having an amazing experience with Yapp. Customer service is exceptional! They always answer very quickly and get back to you with answers to any questions you have (or problems you encounter while editing your app). Shoutout to [sensitive content hidden] at Yapp for all his wonderful help! The user experience was also great. I was easily able to build my app by adding specific features. Yapp also has a help center where you can look up how to complete something (EX: how to upload attendees, overall tips & tricks, etc.)
Ease of use. Yapp has templated pages to use in the app so you do not have to build anything from scratch. (EX: polls, schedule, agenda, etc.). Additionally, any time you have a change to make to your app, it is completed in real-time and after "publishing" your changes, attendees who downloaded your app will see these new changes the next time they view the app.
Reporting features are good (EX: app usage, engagement stats) but I feel like a little more can be done here so administrators can dive deeper into the data to analyze.

First of all the Yapp customer service is 2nd to none.....period. Between the online tutorials and the live chat, the experience has been phenomenal. Any time I've sent a request to get a question answered, I've either gotten an immediate response or less than 30 minutes. I run a buying group and have 10 member companies. Yapp has been so well received that I believe 5 of them started using Yapp after our first experience in 2019. I can't emphasize enough what a fantastic product this is and simple to use for any skill level!
I am not the most tech savvy person being a Boomer who didn't grow up with a computer. I was amazed at how quickly I was able to navigate my way through creating my first app in 2019. It is very intuitive. For the past 4 years and creating multiple apps, there has been nothing that I wanted to create in an app, that I haven't been able to figure out. I love this product!
There really isn't a "like least" feature of this app. My only suggestion to make it just a little easier in some instances, would be to be able to clone a page within the app or to copy and paste a page from a previous app into a new app. My apps are very similar for each event so I start by cloning the previous app, which is very helpful. Cloning a page or cut and paste a page from previous apps would make it that much easier.

Overall, I had a positive experience with Yapp. It was a great tool for creating a custom event app and it provided all the features I needed to make my event a success. The app was easy to use and the customer support team was very responsive when I had questions or needed assistance. I would definitely recommend Yapp to others looking to create their own event apps.
I really enjoyed the user-friendly interface of Yapp. It was so easy to navigate and create my own custom app without any coding or technical skills. The drag-and-drop interface made it simple to add features like a schedule, speaker bios, and interactive maps.
One thing I didn't like about Yapp was the limited customization options. While the drag-and-drop interface was easy to use, there were some design limitations that made it difficult to achieve the exact look and feel I wanted for my app.

It is worth mentioning the customer service side of Yapp, their response times have been excellent and always willing to come up with a solution. We have not experienced any real problems, but the whole team have always been on hand to provide help and and advice about how to achieve what we have wanted to do. Having this support has been invaluable.
We use Yapp to share the details of our Arts Festival each year and the application gives us the flexibility to customise the look for the theme each year. Having the ability to clearly show the acts that are happening and include links through to performer details, it all works seamlessly. Following the successful use for the festival, we expanded our use for the induction of our new staff who join the school each year. Giving the ability to new recruits to be able to view information before they arrive, has been a great benefit.
We have yet to discover any significant flaws in the product and have been very satisfied with what we have been able to implement with the system.

After 3 years we love the App for our conference
The schedule is terrific. Exhibitors profiles and info is good. Having speaker handouts on the schedule is a real plus!
1. can't attach digital promotional advertisements to exhibitors easily 2. Schedule overview doesn't have speaker's name on it....only location 3. Hard to add a READABLE MAP (exhibit hall and classrooms) 4. Most Sponsors are Exhibitors....can't pull Exhibitor Info into Sponsors. Have to enter same info twice

I love that I can schedule announcements. I wish that when I was scheduling them it would schedule for the time my event took place, not where I was scheduling from. I also wish as an admin I could create scheduled posts from within the desktop instead of on the mobile device. I like that the schedule autosplits between the days of the event and that members can post in the social feed like they would on social media.
