Better collaboration at all our events! Our teams are communicating better now too.
I have been using YAPP for over 2 years for our global conferences - to get people to engage, get excited, and as a way of reducing printed paper agendas and other print materials. I love the functionality, and how easy it is to upload and use - I have had to test out another event app and that was very difficult to use. I especially love that I can upload a simple CSV file with participant names and that comes up so easily. I really do enjoy working with the tool - and being able to upload files so easily!
The cost - sometimes I find it high. The only other thing I would say is the way apps are archived so you can't see some from the previous year.

Overall, it's a simple platform that helps structure data, display it helpfully, and update it in-realtime for conference attendees. Not as fancy or feature rich as other platforms, but by far the most affordable. Simple and effective.
It is a very easy solution to use and accomplishes the desire of having a conference "app". Worth the money and can be used simply for data distribution and communication, or you can use more advanced features if desired. Compared to all the other enterprise systems out there, this is the only one that is anywhere affordable for a non-profit event.
A little more customization on the app pages designed for just content display would be nice, but the more custom you can get the more complex it gets. A few more built-in themes or styles for the app structure/layout would be nice, but again, keeping it simple can actually be a blessing. More dynamic linking of data would be helpful (being able to create instances of items and then link to it throughout the app rather than having to recreate the data on different pages).

Great price. Simple, clean design with variety of templates to deliver information. Very responsive to questions or issues that need to be reviewed.
Yapp is a simple application to build and manage all information for conference attendees.
Would like to be able to execute real time polls or crowd source ideas — might need to brainstorm with one of your account execs to learn features we might bot be utilizing to fullest around ways we can leverage Yapp with audience engagement.

Yapp fulfills all the features we look for, at an excellent price point, and with excellent customer service.
The way the schedule with tracks is designed to be used isn't super compatible with our event format, but we make it work.

We have used Yapp for several Conferences and user feedback is always very positive. Building the App and Admin is straight forward.
Ability to limit distribution to a list of users is a deal breaker for us. From an Admin perspective it is very easy to build, deploy and update Apps. The ability to import schedules, speakers, etc. from a CSV file is time saving and helpful.
So far, we have used Yapp exclusively for Conferences. While the App is great, the pricing model is unhelpful. On average, we build an App and use it for maybe 2 months (pre, during and post conference). However, we can't build a new app for the next conference within the same year without purchasing an additional App even though we are no longer using the App for the past conference. For us, it would be hugely useful if there were an option to license by Active Apps, i.e. be able to reuse the license when an App is archived, and/or have a monthly license. Would love to see some integrations with CRM, forms, etc.

Great customer support! Customer support is great. If the builder of the app does their part, you will end up with a fantastic product. Your apps can feature -discussion boards -picture walls (perfect for Selfie stations) -Twitter feed monitoring -Conference/event scheduling -A place to house your documents and maps (awesome for conference portability) -A customization engine that cements the professionalism of your organization
YAPP features an easy and intuitive user interface for creating a professional-looking mobile app which has TONS of functionality. I have been using the service for years, and have built multiple conference apps with it, all for public education, curriculum, instruction and leadership. If you look around at conferences, just about everyone will have their faces buried in their phones, tablets or laptops....
Entering the conference session data can be tedious, and there is really no way around this. However, if you use a spreadsheet to build your initial conference schedule layout, session description, location, and other pertinent data-- you can then use that spreadsheet to import your sessions with direct mapping. This saves you a big step when it comes to conference design, but it only works if you begin with the end product in mind and make that spreadsheet from the origins of the conference planning stages.

Love it and when I share with my clients, they to love all the capabilities it offers especially for the price.
This program was easy to use and really liked that on each page you add to the right side it gives an example of how that page is used.
It would be nice if under the schedule, when you list a speaker that either there was a more button or something to indicate click here so you can see their contact, and bio. The way it shows now unless you accidentally clicked on it you wouldn't know. Another feature, I would pay for, would be to have the ability to pin room locations under the schedule to a map.

We printed less trip booklets this year (only for older leaders) and saved some money and time on preparing trip information. We've used it for 4-5 years now for our events and it's really been worth the money to all all event or trip info in one easy accessible location on your mobile app. The customer service has been great and the response time is within hours or a day.
Yapp mobile app is user friendly for the staff setting it up, efficient use of staff time, and helps manage info for your group at an event. I like that participant information can be uploaded all at once via CSV files, time saver!
We have to purchase a certain amount of apps in order to get the discount. We do not ever use all the apps but its cheaper to purchase the higher package. Maybe come up with a mid price discount or a discount for loyal customers? But this is a pricing suggestion, not a "like least" about software features.
So glad to hear that Yapp is paying for itself in time and printing costs, Jennifer. If I had to guess, your unusual pricing experience is due to the fact that you are grandfathered into a legacy plan that we no longer offer to new customers. They have good services with a limited free trial available which is great.
Yapp has helped enlighten our teams on the need to collaborate in service delivery. An empowered team is always my main goal. Notifications and announcements can be accessed from a central point for clarity and motivation through efficient mobile apps. Being self-generated apps, customization is easy and fruitful. Yapp does not require much knowledge and skills on coding and design.
Fully satisfying. Easy to operate and user friendly. However, the price should be revisited to be lowered inorder to accommodate smaller businesses.

My overall experience has been very positive. Since day one, the staff at Yapp App has been very supportive and very quick to respond to any of the questions I had in terms of using the app and the features it provided. The chat feature they have is great and they respond to you quite quickly. Also, it is very cost-effective for what you get and you can choose to add additional apps if you decide you need more. I also like that once you retire an app, you have the ability to archive it.
This app has allowed me to seamlessly communicate with the attendees of our annual leadership summit. It was easy to learn how to use this app. There is no coding involved and each section can be customized to your liking. You can load schedules, bios, pictures, PDF, videos, etc. It also has instant messaging that allows you to quickly push out notifications. I love that you can create your content and when you are ready, you can simply push the publish button. We have also used it for other teams as well not just for our leadership summit.
I wish you could add a registration feature to the app with the ability to cap the attendees at a certain number for each workshop being offered. Possibly pushing this feature out first, before the entire contents of the app are populated.

Love it...very happy with Yapp! Yappy Happy!
This app is extremely affordable and simple to use. 24 hour support so somebody is always available to answer questions. I can form teams so they can build the app while I work on other items for my conference
It doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the more expensive apps...like font color and type.

I've worked on custom apps and customizable out of the box apps before that were monumentally more expensive and they paled in comparison to the ease of use and functionality that we found in the Yapp apps. We also had far more engagement with this app than our previous apps. My favorite thing is how you can design "pages" and move them around when you want to highlight one over another. Not being constrained to a traditional model where the developer chooses what they think is the way the app should be designed was really great for us.
I would like to see the social feeds brought back and expanded. When we signed on, Twitter was still being fed into the app, which would have been cool to see. We didn't think our attendee base would be on board with logging in to be able to share their social posts, but the ability to see our feeds would be really nice -- plus adding our feeds from Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram would have been an added bonus.

Yapp has been easy to create with, easy to update with, and easy to get answers from their customer service team.
When we needed to look like "the bigs guys" on a budget, we searched for cost-effective yet powerful app purveyors. Yapp was suggested to me by a web developer as a cost-effective way to promote a conference for a client. From speaker bios, to multi-track event scheduling, and pushing announcements, Yapp delivered the goods and had great customer service. This expanded into a few human resources apps as well.
The one thing I would like is to have more design control -- multiple branding colors available for different items. The client is frustrated they don't have their logo/icon on the app, but I have tried to explain the ease of using Yapp as the umbrella to get apps pushed through quickly and efficiently

There are some workarounds that need to be done to do exactly what we want. We were easily able to do this using the features that are available.

We are a statewide healthcare organization with a small staff and a large annual conference of VIP attendees. We've used Yapp as our event app for 4 years now, and no longer produce a print program or any other paper materials, saving money and time. Our attendees are executives who range from 30- 70+ years old and do not bring support staff to this meeting, so ease/intuitive mobile use is key. Yapp...

Overall a very good app for conferences. Especially for the price
More of the ability to customize. For example, adding a weather widget. Would also like the ability to add more graphics to the individual pages. For example, on the attendees page, be able to add a banner. Or maybe a banner that was consistent on all pages.

Very positive experience, convenient, allows good interaction with over 200 participants
We have used your application for the past three years with much success. Your application allows us to structure the work of our Conferences, which are attended by over 200 people from across the FSU. It allows us to interact with the participants through the schedule, sharing experiences and photos from the events. Thank you so much for such a high-quality and professional development, and convenient tool for our work
There is nothing at this point, except that perhaps we do not need the application for the entire year and we wish there was a cheaper per- conference option

It's easy to deploy and update.There are a lot of options for page customization, with RTF bringing the ability to add almost anything. As a user we have all that we need available; adding seminars to my schedule is my favorite.
It is expensive for smaller events. There are external restrictions on social media - I still would like an Instagram feed of a certain hashtag to populate in the app.

It's easy to use, and ads value to our attendees. Have used it for years and don't plan to quit.
It's easy to build and modify sections with their plug and play components. It's also very helpful to be able to upload items via a CSV.
Wish we could use for instant polling or live Q&A that would let administrators review responses before they were seen by audience. Some users had trouble opening the app for the first time.

This app is easy to use, intuitive, able to publish and make changes immediately without having to use a 3rd party/CS agent. I have used apps that are more expensive but have so many limitations on it that I always come back to Yapp. I can find work arounds for almost anything that i need. Additionally, my end users love using it - they love uploading photos and chatting with each other.

very cheap compared to competitors.
Ease of use. Hands down, it allowed non techies to actually create a mobile app. It's easier than drag and drop type of templates and the fact that it's all boxed in and within a certain templated frame makes it easy. There's no design / html or any knowledge to be had if you want to build an app. Some of our people are in the UK and they were still able to hear back from support fairly early their time. Support felt like it was humans doing it not just a ticket system.
Our windows phone employees had to access the app on a computer. We only had 2 people with Windows Phones.

I researched several apps before choosing YAPP. This would be our organization's first time using an app for our annual conference. It took me less than a few days to become familiar with the layout of the app. It was very helpful to see other samples of conference apps. Staff is quick to response and even response after 6PM.
For the price, there are none. I would like to see the banner ad function added. I would like to be able to have the option to use the preset features or create your own.

When we were looking for a mobile app to use they were all so expensive so Yapp provided us an affordable option that had an ease of use/setting it up.
Yapp was an affordable app solution for our events and conferences. We liked being able to broadcast out event info, have our schedule, and upload videos.
One of the down sides is having to download yapp before getting your app.
