Our peachtree program, timeslips program, and trust account (old CosmoLex desktop version) were all becoming unsupported, and/or being phased out. We did not use peachtree to its full capacity, timeslips program very slow, and not easy to work with.

CosmoLex is an easy program once you get going

I needed to replace Timeslips.  The financial accounting features were an added bonus.  The practice management features streamline my practice and give me a client centric organization that gives me a different perspective on my cases and allows me to cut down on wasted time.

We were with Timeslips for years, and our IT department required us to move to a cloud-based system. We moved to Clio based on reviews from attorneys we know well. We found out, after using it for a couple months, that it can't do the monthly reporting we needed for corporate reports, so we started looking for a new cloud-based system.

Reporting capabilities; ease of use; customer support

My experience with Cosmolex has exceeded my expectations. I did a lot of research on what is out there in the market and Cosmolex came out on top, primarily because of the integrated backend accounting so that I did not have to deal with QuickBooks. Over the last couple of years, using Cosmolex, has been awesome. Being able to keep track of my time with the timer, bulk entry of Timeslips, ease of sending out invoices, invoices with a link to pay electronically, inclusion of law pay as a part of the subscription, etc., etc., etc., are all wonderful parts of the experience.

Great Product

For many years our firm used a number of different back office software products. For example, we used Easy Trust for trust accounting, Quick Books for financial accounting and payroll, and Timeslips for time and billing. These are all products that run on individual computers. About 3 years ago, the company that produced EasyTrust quit supporting that product. For the last 3 years we have basically been on our own regarding trust accounting. It has worked out okay to date, but at some point we knew that we would encounter an operating system problem or something and we would have had a substantial problem and the program would've stopped working and we would've had no support or help.

The technical support has been excellent, both from their quick responsiveness and their ability to solve any issues I may have.

Billing with a timer, bulk billing (was added after I requested), super responsive customer support/chat, great reports, full back-end accounting.

Easy to use, good interface, web-based and does most accounting tasks quickly and simply. Software development team is very responsive to any concerns about the product.

The support features and articles are great. I've been able to solve most of my own issues without the need to submit a help ticket.

The only difficulty our firm has had has been in discerning how to remove or amend charges to clients once they have been billed and once payment has been received.

Customer service is also very good. I like that it integrates with several other applications, such as LawPay and Casemaker (although I no longer use Casemaker).

The versatility of being cloud based is very beneficial to me as I can log in from anywhere with an internet connection. Combined with the price it was the best choice for our law firm.

Second, when I chatted someone to find this "update" they could not find it or direct me to it. The lack of integrations (and the integrations they are getting) is really problematic.

Cosmolex is very helpful for trust accounting.

Cloud-based, good interface. The program integrates with OneDrive and other vendors' products.

I don't use a lot of them and it could make things confusing if i didn't already know what I'm doing.

Expensive, inability to incorporate with Enterprise software, imports had to be in ascii, and limited account manipulation; hard to create sub clients under a parent.
