Pros

The client portal is wonderful, and I love how the accounting features are organized. Customer service is amazing.
I continue to be very impressed and happy with the software. They are constantly updating it with new useful features.
There are simple reports and a great dashboard to see how much is outstanding, to be billed, and the amount in my trust account.

Pros

When I have a question, I just type it into the help section and I receive either a phone call or email very promptly. As a solo, this product is amazing and does so much.
Integration with email is awesome and our staff gets a sense that your team is continually improving and adding options which makes it even more exciting.
Having the accounting "internal" for both trust & non trust accounts is a great help in not needing to use Quickbooks, then re-enter/log the checks, costs, details.

Cons

Wasted hours trying to make it integrated with QuickBooks, only to have PP blame Quickbooks for PP inability to integrate. I spent at least 12 hours and gave up the integration.
Since they have grown, they have lost some of their customer service.
Technical Support and Correction of Problems - Discovered a serious problem with the partial payment of invoices that does not allow a Client to make a partial payment to an invoice.

Cons

Until recently, we could live with those glitches. However, the software now refuses to delete emails from my Inbox and the company cannot correct this problem.
It has been one of the worst conversions we have ever experienced.
There isn't much to say in terms of negative content that I personally have experienced.

It helps me with task management, trust accounting, and matter management.

Pros

I like being able to track all my matters, tasks, and contacts in one place, while integrating with my other cloud services, like Google Suite and Quickbooks Online.

Cons

As a new user, I've had a couple of questions about how to use things and get the most out of the integrations, but the help staff has been great getting me up to speed. I'd love to see a secure client portal that doesn't rely on a second sign in to Box.com. That's a bit clunky and not what people are used to with client portals.

Pros

The ability to handle most aspects of a client matter in one centralized location has proven to be the most efficient part of using Practice Panther. Our favorite sub-feature is the workflow organization, which allows us to map out future tasks and events in a matter. This provides an useful map of the case, and helps organize our work.

Cons

Some of the software integrations can take time to set up; better defaults would be helpful. Some of these software integrations only work for specific third-party software, which may be an issue for firms with an established software suite.

I have used to other big name practice management softwares in the past. Practice Panther blows them away in functionality and value. There is so much you can do with this software from seamless integration with dropbox, law pay, and the google suite, as well as creating intake forms and workflows for specific case types. The app is wonderful as well!

PracticePanther - Software Equivalent of a Part-Time Administrator

Pros

So many features and components of administering a law practice are included with PracticePanther that make the daily operation of the business more efficient. I used to use separate billing software, calendaring software - including court calendars for assorted federal and state courts, and task management software. PracticePanther replaced all of them and combines them in an easy to use format. Plus with the credit card payment feature, I now get paid faster (more than 14 days quicker on average) than I have ever been before. It is like having a part-time office administrator on staff.

Cons

I love PracticePanther's suite of features, but I wish it interfaced with my factual and legal research software so that engaging in online research could be automatically timed and the results saved in a way that is accessible through the PracticePanther website. For example, I use CaseText and if PracticePanther had an interface with CaseText, whenever I logged in to do research, I could enter the matter code and the time I researched was automatically billed to that matter and any cases I downloaded were linked to the matter in PracticePanther, I would be even more effective and efficient in getting work done and getting paid for it.

Terrible practice management software

When you sign up, you'll get an invitation to a live webinar two weeks out. Totally unhelpful for someone trying to get up and running. I have been using PracticePanther for about one month, and I'm already considering changing to another PMS. The money I spent on PracticePanther is a sunk cost. I really think I should just cut my losses because if I don't, I'll end up spending a lot of time trying to manage and work around the software. I really don't feel like it's saving me any time at all. I would probably be better off with T-sheets, Quickbooks, and Law Pay only.

Pros

Clients can pay online. I honestly can't think of anything else to say.

Cons

Where do I start? The time keeping function is terrible. You cannot edit start and stop times. You cannot start and stop multiple timers in the mobile app. The software auto-saves frequently, and when it does, it moves the cursor in the entry to the end of the text. This is annoying. You cannot start a timer and then add the client-matter without causing the time to round up. The syncing with G Suite...

Convenient access to stored legal information.

Pros

I enjoy this software's ability to store masses of information all in one small, directed location of which I can easily access and refer to at a later date.

Cons

Software pages can sometimes be difficult to navigate. There also is difficulty in understanding where certain tools are and what other tools are supposed to be used for.

Grow to love this product on a daily basis. Zola Suite continues to improve and update its functions and services offered. It makes billing and invoicing a lot easier. Highly recommend!

Pros

There are so many things to rave about this legal management software. If we have to pick, I would say its awesome customer service and its basic accounting capabilities offered.

Cons

Glitches and technical errors, especially with Zola Suite email system, happen more often than our liking; however, Zola Suite's awesome technical support team and their great availability and ease of accessibility make these problems bearable.

Excellent company with great customer service. They are growing quickly and are on the leading edge of legal technology.

Pros

I love the ability to manage tasks within Zola Suite. Zola Suite also has a very intuitive document automation system.

Cons

Although I understand the HotDocs integration is not yet released and still in testing, it needs additional features. Specifically, the "Overlay" feature that is native to HotDocs needs to be activated within ZolaSuite. It also needs the ability to email the HotDocs interview to clients through Zola Suite.

We spent months reviewing Zola, the people that worked there were so patient and helpful. Overall - we should have chosen Zola to have the accounting within the system

Pros

it has FULL accounting! Most legal matter management only has some money reports, Zola has full accounting, meaning you can actually run a P&L for your business.

Cons

I thought this platform was painstakingly created to include almost every detail you could ask for, in the end, my big boss wanted something that required Quickbooks

Zola Suites is a comprehensive case management program that is constantly improving. Its affordable, easily accessible, loaded with guides and tutorials to help us slow and technologically challenged lawyers, and the customer service is top notch. As a solo practitioner it has been difficult to find a case management software company that truly cares about your practice and that is truly there to help...

Pros

The task template which allows me to create specific templates based upon my practice and how I work versus a generic input system.

Cons

I would like to see the task template updated to automatically populate a time schedule based upon the user's creation, in which of course the user should be able to revise it as needed for each entry. I would also like to see more customized billing. The current invoices are too generic. Lastly, document assembly and a document automation component is something Zola should consider as well.

Best I have used so far

I have been working in legal services for 20 years and have tried many practice management platforms. Zola Suite is by far the best I have tried. Super easy to use, straight forward pricing, lots of great functions that are actually useful. I would recommend to any practitioner.

Pros

Ease of use, flat pricing that includes trust accounting.

Cons

I cannot think of any - have not run into any problems.
