A great alternative to InfusionSoft - Active Campaign automates you mailing.

Pros

Because you can program email based upon a person's behaviors, each correspondence can be personalized. Active Campaign is cheaper and easier to learn than Infusionsoft and it has all of the features that I need for email automation.

Cons

The CRM is not as good as I would like. So, I continue to use Hubspot CRM and only use the email features in Active Campaign.

A decent ESP with lots of configuration options but geared towards sales teams.

Pros

Overall, some good automation triggers and reporting features. Easy to set up broadcast emails, automations, and more. Decent pricing for the features of what normally cost more with an enterprise-level CRM and marketing platform. Good flexibility to configure the platform.

Cons

We switched from ActiveCampaign to Campaign Monitor and noticed our deliverability increased, which had a direct effect on higher open and click rates. The support team for ActiveCampaign, like most ESPs, is basic, unhelpful, and take a LOT of time to respond. Additionally, ActiveCampaign is making their tool more and more like an Infusionsoft or HubSpot CRM platform instead of focusing on email marketing. This means they're starting to fall behind in email specific features, and companies like MailChimp that offer things like unopened resends, better reporting, automatic timed sends, etc.

Exceptional customer support, great tool, my preference for sales and marketing CRMs if Hubspot is too expensive.

Pros

Extremely flexible tool paired with Zapier, allowing integration with almost tool I would want to automate.

Cons

Because it's so open with what it can do, onboarding and setting up can be intimidating for new users.

I've already worked with a lot of CRM and marketing automations, such as Hubspot, Salesforce, RD Station, Pipedrive, Pipefy... and by far ActiveCampaign is the best value for money.

The best email automation software I've found.

It makes automation of my email marketing so easy and simple. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for the best email automation software. I also use the CRM to integrate everything together. It is much more cost effective than HubSpot, which I've also tried.

Pros

ActiveCampaign makes it incredibly easy to organize email follow-up flows to react however you wish, and with virtually no training. My business marketing got way easier once I switched from MailChimp to ActiveCampaign.

Cons

As with any email automation software you do have to pay more as you get more email contacts, so this is nothing unique to Active Campaign. You just need to make sure that your contacts are valuable for actual sales so that you're getting the maximum value.

The Best Email Automation / CRM Software For The Price

Pros

The best part about ActiveCampaign is the value you receive with the price. ActiveCampaign although I love it, is no Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot, etc. but it's the next best thing if you're looking for a lean marketing CRM, sales pipeline, and marketing automation software with less than $1-50k a month budget. I recommend ActiveCampaign to all startup clients.

Cons

ActiveCampaign's software and UI could be cleaner and nicer like Hubspots. It's analytics are pretty non-existent but yet again for the price... AC is the best.

If you're not ready for full-on marketing integration like Salesforce, it's worth checking out.

We've been integrating AC into our marketing process for the past 6-9 months. We're pretty much fully integrated at this point, but we're still not sure we're going to stick with it, as big of a headache as it would be to pack up shop and move somewhere else.

Pros

We were looking for a platform that we could tie via API to our app and the other tools in our marketing stack, to handle marketing automation and email blasts, as well as functioning as a CRM. It's a pretty saturated market, but AC stood out because it did most of what we thought we wanted to do, without the intense commitment of Salesforce or full-on Hubspot integration. For the most part, it's done what we wanted it to do with some minor hiccups. Customer service has been great.

Cons

- Most tools like this are built to integrate with other existing tools (shopify carts, wordpress pages, etc). Our app (site) is custom built, so we haven't been able to realize the full power we wanted (no customized abandoned shopping cart emails, etc). - AC is going up against competitors that do a really good job at UX/UI and general design. I'd put them in the middle of the pack in this regard. It's frequently not very intuitive--it often requires more clicks than should be necessary, or dumps you on a page without an indication of what to do next, or links away from the page you're on without an easy way to get back, etc. - We've had a few bugs that customer service has been helpful with, but have still left us wondering if we made the right decision.

I am using it to track inbound leads for my digital marketing business. It makes sales a lot less complicated.

Pros

Ease of use. The CRM is free, and they also provide many free downloads such as a content calendar etc.

Cons

It is not as integrated as ActiveCampaign, which I use for email marketing and as a CRM. ActiveCampaign allows you to set up automated systems as part of the CRM.

They have a good startup guide that walks you through setting up the CRM. Used it to manage my pipeline.

Pros

It’s a well designed product. Despite seeming to have many features and power (I didn’t use it to its full capabilities), it was still easy to navigate and quick to get started.

Cons

I didn’t like the email automation capabilities and ended up leaving it to use ActiveCampaign as that software is better suited and more advanced in that area.

Easy, adaptable and scalable

Overall love it. I have used various CRM's (Sales Force, Netsuite, ActiveCampaign, Piper Drive and Cooper) and hands down I love HubSpot the best.

Pros

Bottom line it can work for a solopreneur all the way to a global enterprise. The ability for it to scale with you as your business grows is a big plus. Don't all CRM's do this? Some do but the difference with HubSpot CRM is it is made simple and built in away that you can use it out of the box without overwhelm but can also scale it to complex scenarios that work for your organization. Many CRM's I personally find are too complex initially and don't enable the user to get the most out of the features they should be using. As my title says "easy, adaptable and scale." HubSpot delivers on these and are the key aspects of what I like the most about the software.

Cons

Let's be clear there is no perfect product out there and they all have their pros and cons. Some of least favorite parts about HubSpot CRM: - Contacts vs. Company data and not being able to sync information across all properties (I have written many complex workflows to try and solve for this its just a lot of work and you have extra properties that don't make sense to have). - Not being able to...
