Easier than ISoft, but still needed to hire help for some integration
auto responder and CRM integration for less than the biggest competitor
We are considering switching to a product that includes email, CRM, calendaring, funnel creation, maybe even social media

I believe ActiveCampaign is best used when combined with its CRM functionality. As solely an email provider and newsletter management system, it's far less intuitive than other options.
I like the reporting, I find it much more accurate than others. Also the contact scoring can be very beneficial if you know how to use it.
The navigation is very confusing. It's hard to know where you should head, or where to find what you need within the software, which makes it slightly stressful

A lot of frustrating work arounds. The lack of sync with outlook has been annoying. Easy to implement overall.
This software does most things well. Nothing very well but most things well. You do not need to buy many add-ons as it covers most basic needs like landing pages, forms, email nurturing, SMS integration, sales management, and reporting.
It is difficult to make good lists or segments. You can only one way SMS. It does not track email opens sent from within CRM or using outlook. It does sync well with Gmail.

Seems inexpensive, other than that it seems more of a marketing tool
the CRM component seems to be an after thought. it would not work for me as I need a strong CRM

No complaints until we tried to cancel service. Requested cancellation on 06/05/2020, the first available time to speak with rep was listed as 06/08/2020. Charged monthly amount on 06/06/2020, although we had initiated cancellation day prior. Rep and company have referred to the no refund policy, and asked for additional evidence that we tried to reach out to cancel. Had the system allowed the end user to process cancellation in account settings, this nonsense could have been avoided. Seems disingenuous to allow end user to add or upgrade services, but not to cancel. Absolutely ridiculous.
Easy-to-use and a good way to reach subscribers.
Did not support API integration with our CRM.

Much preferred it to other more expensive options out there. Would definitely recommend.
Great value, easy to use and set up campaigns, really good email management.
There could be a better CRM / deals feature

Because you can program email based upon a person's behaviors, each correspondence can be personalized. Active Campaign is cheaper and easier to learn than Infusionsoft and it has all of the features that I need for email automation.
The CRM is not as good as I would like. So, I continue to use Hubspot CRM and only use the email features in Active Campaign.

Overall, I like the software. At times it can be too bulky and slow down. But overall, it's much more useful than Mailchimp and more cost-effective than Hubspot. I don't like how inexperienced the representatives are. They need more experience and training. It may actually pay to discount the software and refer clients to ActiveCampaign consultants that are much more skilled with the system.
How easy it is to run an email campaign and tag contacts based on rules.
The CRM needs improvement. I understand its not meant to be a full-fledged CRM but it has the potential, so why not make it one?

CRM and marketing.
The best thing I like about this software is Marketing and CRM utilization. There is a great deal of efficiency aimed at the status of marketing content, the ability for a user to plan ahead using their own threshold measurements (level), and multiple user advantages.
The software is difficult to set and also pricey.

We've been using Active Campaign for several years. We wouldn't use any other service.
Ability to design great email ads, retargeting based on clicks, opens, etc. marketing automation based on certain pages or links clicked on, very user friendly CRM, Reporting on all services within the software.
CRM could be better but it's still user friendly

Automation, simplicity, CRM, integrations
Expensive as the tiers go up and additional costs for adding features such as Conversations. Performance deficiency. Some basic level integrations require a plan upgrade.

Tagging, abandoned carts, CRM
Segmentation is quite powerful. A/B subject split tests, great abandoned cart email follow up feature.
Improvement in email newsletter editor. Sometimes minor block/element changes are not reflected in the emails.

The biggest problem this company has is training and support. It's very hard to know how to use their product, and they don't have the investment in support that they need.
Their marketing automation and marketing tools are their strength.
The CRM an interaction with the sales team is very weak.

The best part about ActiveCampaign is the value you receive with the price. ActiveCampaign although I love it, is no Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot, etc. but it's the next best thing if you're looking for a lean marketing CRM, sales pipeline, and marketing automation software with less than $1-50k a month budget. I recommend ActiveCampaign to all startup clients.
ActiveCampaign's software and UI could be cleaner and nicer like Hubspots. It's analytics are pretty non-existent but yet again for the price... AC is the best.

So far I only used it for simple campaigns, but it's been easy to set up, and the split testing features have helped us to gain great insights in a few emails.
Automations, and the conditional content. All features related to split testing are also great.
The CRM is a little bit shallow compared to other options.

We are a consulting firm with two consultants and this software works well for lead tracking, contact management, and we'll soon be using it for marketing
Easily tracks emails and leads; I like how it manages the sales pipeline and deals
It's more complex than our other CRM so there's a learning curve.

It is worth having CRM software.
1. It helps me to collect leads and translate them into potential customers by fetching or collecting data from various source via emails, chat and form submission. 2. I like it's automated email feature that automatically send follow-ups to the leads. It saves me a lot of time to work upon other things.
1. Recently I experienced a bug which is emails/replies (which I use to send through the AC) were not getting delivered to the leads. But I spoke to their support team and they managed to fix that issue. It is not anymore. Keep up the good work. 2. Creating automation is quite complex, it should be more easy and user friendly. Suggestions: Add a tool-tip at each event/action.

Automated follow up to clients, Easy to use, allows us to automatically communicate with clients via text message or email
Not quite the only CRM you need - we pair with pipedrive. I would love if this had further CRM functionality, that would allow it to be an all-in-one application for our company
