Autopilot Features In Depth

Multi-channel Marketing Journeys

With multi-channel marketing journeys, Autopilot users can send the right messages to the right recipients at the precise moments when recipients are likely to be receptive to those messages. Businesses are able to automate their marketing, send personalized messages, and build workflows and processes in Salesforce.

Journeys are where your automated marketing program begins. To create and publish your first Journey, use Autopilot’s drag-and-drop Journey canvas. With Autopilot, you have the option of designing a program from scratch or selecting a program from the Guide Book, which is a collection of best practice programs.

Lead Capturing

Autopilot’s Universal Form Capture capabilities enable users to capture lead data from any website, blog, or app. This means that Autopilot users don’t have to worry about rebuilding landing pages or content before they can begin capturing lead data with the service.

To begin capturing submissions from the existing forms and landing pages on your website, add Autopilot’s tracking code. Once you’ve setup the tracking code, you can create a new Journey and drag the Form Submitted trigger onto your canvas. From that point, Autopilot’s wizard will track new forms and funnel the submissions into your contact database.

Guides

Guides are best practice Journey templates, and they help users quickly get started using Autopilot. Guides are built from tried-and-true marketing automation best practices, and they enable anyone to take advantage of years of marketing experience and research.

Autopilot’s Guide Book comes with tips and tricks for automated marketing. Search through existing Guides by keyword or make a Guide of your own from scratch. Selecting “Use Guide” will add the best practice Shapes and configurations to your Journey canvas. You can continue to make customizations by selecting the “Add Shapes” icon at any point along the way.

Automated Emails

Businesses that use Autopilot are able to personalize and automate their marketing emails. Autopilot helps organizations improve email performance by sending follow-up messages at optimal times. Advanced features make it possible for businesses to personalize the messages that Autopilot with dynamic text in the subject lines and body content.

To avoid straying too far from the look and feel of your typical company emails, upload branded HTML templates into Autopilot. You can import an HTML template or make your HTML email editable. If your goal is to make your automated email appear as personal as possible, you’ll want to add dynamic text into the content that you’re sending. First names, email addresses, and even birthdates can be pulled from your contact records automatically.

Insights & Reporting

The best way for an Autopilot user to measure the effectiveness of his or her new automated marketing program by using the application’s Insights and Reporting tools. With these tools, businesses can visualize revenue impacts, view trends, and view summaries of user and email performance data.

Autopilot provides you with data in real-time, which means you can immediately detect when changes to your marketing program are having an impact on the activity on your website. Reports can be filtered by date range. Or, you can filter reports by Journeys or individual email touch points.

Carry out email automation

2019-09-18

It allows us to have an overview of the basic performance of our campaigns by email.

Pros

In addition, Autopilot allows the Marketing team to create a coherent funnel, with intelligent and easy-to-use segments.

Cons

Some actions related to APIs are very limited, so it would be good if they could provide a little more freedom.

Flexible tool for email campaigns

2019-02-04

Pros

I really like how easy it is to set campaign, even the one where you want to use multiple conditions along the road.

Cons

Deliverability of emails - we've compared it with other players on the market and with big campaigns it is an issue.

One of the most complete marketing automation tools

2017-06-16

Pros

Autopilot is one of the most complete marketing automation tools.

Cons

Last one, is that the Proactive headsup feature definitely needs to be more customizable in terms of when the headsup messages are triggered (e.g. trigger on 2nd visitor session, after x minutes on page, after y minutes have gone by, etc.)

Not an easy to navigate tool.

2018-06-07

Pros

The ability to add users to a campaign ad hoc and see how many people have received the email versus how many people are set to. 3.

Cons

Support was helpful but ran me in circles once trying to figure out how a user got unsubscribed from a campaign through an API, and I'm still kinda confused by it. 3.

It is very good because its tools are functional

a great help and good benefits obtained

Pros

You can send email or SMS campaigns instantly.

Cons

Cons: It's not as intuitive as it should be; However, once it is understood, it is much easier to set up campaigns. You must be an advanced user to understand how to do almost anything in the tool.

Easiest marketing automation tool I have been able to find

2018-12-15

- Nice, easy and informative dashboard with exporting options.

Pros

I love how everything just works. In my experience with other, bigger tools, set-up and implementation takes months, not to mention huge investments. After implementation the tools took ages to get familiar with and didn't work smoothly. And customer service was slow and often unhelpful, regardless of their best intentions. Implementing autopilot has cost me (no external consultant needed) minutes. Using it has been as intuitive as one would expect from an up-to-date tool. The customer service has, up until this point, been very helpful and quick.

Cons

- no cons so far. And now I need to type this sentence to get this review approved.

Great for automating Marketing requirements

2019-04-17

Very good. Customer service is incredible, so I feel like any issues or objectives I want to hit are fully supported by the team. I hope this only improves as they grow and doesn't become watered down.

Pros

You can plan multiple campaigns visually and then share the boards (completed with annotations) with the client.

Cons

Mailchimp, for example, provides decent reporting with easy actions (like automatic re-send to non-openers' - AP requires you do smart segmenting (which is actually better in the long term), but the mental journey to sort this out would be impossible without the customer support (so it isn't an issue).

Automated Marketing done well

2015-12-28

Autopilot was a perfect fit for us, gives us code for our website for tracking, takes data from our pre existing forms on our landing pages, allows easy creation of nurture campaigns for multiple lists of people with sophisticated logic that is easy to implement.

Pros

The UI is clean and you don't need to be an expert to really craft some impressive nurture campaigns. The app is powerful yet simple which is rare.

Cons

Would love to see integration with more apps.

A great tool for personalising communications with customers through emails and SMS.

2017-11-16

Onboarded more than 100 users for a client. Created clients out of inquiries.

Pros

Easy to setup first for simple campaigns. Reporting is quite powerful and easy to use.

Cons

Price is too high. A bit more complex than what you can find in guides - you need to talk to support to fully understand it.

Excellent Product For Marketing Automation

2019-05-20

This tool is super simple to sue, GUI interface, and has the ability to substantially accelerate pipeline processes.

Pros

Based on observed behaviors from email campaigns, digital ads, chat or site/page performance, Autopilot can update Contacts, Deals, and Organizations, assign activities, notes increase deal values, stages, assign work to sales people and move deals through the pipeline.

Cons

If they could add a filter capability, this tool is about as good as it gets.

Incredible Value. Make use of the templates. Explore the possibilities.

2016-03-22

Of course, those same principals could easily be applied to outbound marketing campaigns with complex engagement logic, which we haven't started to implement as this time.

Pros

- Slack Integration - Segment Integration - Easy to build complex logic, visually - Dashboard to keep track of latest events - Many journey and email templates to get you started - Built-in email open/link tracking is helpful to find your engaged users - Good support - Great blog with ideas of how others use Autopilot - They are continuing to develop cool new features - User idea voting for features not yet developed

Cons

- Ability to access email / Slack templates seems inefficient (need to dig into the journey to find them) - With all of the capabilities that Autopilot offers, you can easily have your custom contact lists get out of hand - remember to KISS so that others on your team can pick up where you left off

Great Tool For Those Looking For Ultimate Flexibility

2019-02-05

We have integrated every data point from our site to custom Autoplit fields and then uses custom segments and journeys to automate our email sequences, Google ad Audiences, and Hubspot lead assignment.

Pros

Unlike Pardot, Marketo and other marketing automation systems, Autopilot has allowed me to create, send, and sync customer data across platforms.

Cons

Where Autopilot excels at creating amazing journeys and automation, its reporting and contact management isn't quite as robust.

Pros

Pros

Their unique ui/ux make it very easy to set up campaigns that not only include email and SMS triggers, but unique integrations with companies such as Lob that let you programmatically send postcards.
