Autopilot Features In Depth

Multi-channel Marketing Journeys

With multi-channel marketing journeys, Autopilot users can send the right messages to the right recipients at the precise moments when recipients are likely to be receptive to those messages. Businesses are able to automate their marketing, send personalized messages, and build workflows and processes in Salesforce.

Journeys are where your automated marketing program begins. To create and publish your first Journey, use Autopilot’s drag-and-drop Journey canvas. With Autopilot, you have the option of designing a program from scratch or selecting a program from the Guide Book, which is a collection of best practice programs.

Lead Capturing

Autopilot’s Universal Form Capture capabilities enable users to capture lead data from any website, blog, or app. This means that Autopilot users don’t have to worry about rebuilding landing pages or content before they can begin capturing lead data with the service.

To begin capturing submissions from the existing forms and landing pages on your website, add Autopilot’s tracking code. Once you’ve setup the tracking code, you can create a new Journey and drag the Form Submitted trigger onto your canvas. From that point, Autopilot’s wizard will track new forms and funnel the submissions into your contact database.

Guides

Guides are best practice Journey templates, and they help users quickly get started using Autopilot. Guides are built from tried-and-true marketing automation best practices, and they enable anyone to take advantage of years of marketing experience and research.

Autopilot’s Guide Book comes with tips and tricks for automated marketing. Search through existing Guides by keyword or make a Guide of your own from scratch. Selecting “Use Guide” will add the best practice Shapes and configurations to your Journey canvas. You can continue to make customizations by selecting the “Add Shapes” icon at any point along the way.

Automated Emails

Businesses that use Autopilot are able to personalize and automate their marketing emails. Autopilot helps organizations improve email performance by sending follow-up messages at optimal times. Advanced features make it possible for businesses to personalize the messages that Autopilot with dynamic text in the subject lines and body content.

To avoid straying too far from the look and feel of your typical company emails, upload branded HTML templates into Autopilot. You can import an HTML template or make your HTML email editable. If your goal is to make your automated email appear as personal as possible, you’ll want to add dynamic text into the content that you’re sending. First names, email addresses, and even birthdates can be pulled from your contact records automatically.

Insights & Reporting

The best way for an Autopilot user to measure the effectiveness of his or her new automated marketing program by using the application’s Insights and Reporting tools. With these tools, businesses can visualize revenue impacts, view trends, and view summaries of user and email performance data.

Autopilot provides you with data in real-time, which means you can immediately detect when changes to your marketing program are having an impact on the activity on your website. Reports can be filtered by date range. Or, you can filter reports by Journeys or individual email touch points.

Automated Marketing done well

Autopilot was a perfect fit for us, gives us code for our website for tracking, takes data from our pre existing forms on our landing pages, allows easy creation of nurture campaigns for multiple lists of people with sophisticated logic that is easy to implement.

Pros

The UI is clean and you don't need to be an expert to really craft some impressive nurture campaigns. The app is powerful yet simple which is rare.

Cons

Would love to see integration with more apps.

Of course, those same principals could easily be applied to outbound marketing campaigns with complex engagement logic, which we haven't started to implement as this time.

Cons

- Ability to access email / Slack templates seems inefficient (need to dig into the journey to find them) - With all of the capabilities that Autopilot offers, you can easily have your custom contact lists get out of hand - remember to KISS so that others on your team can pick up where you left off

Great modern automation tool

I've used others before, including Infusionsoft, MailChimp, and Intercom - Autopilot is a great product, with an attractive price point, that offers just the right amount of features, in my opinion.

Pros

Better-than-most API exposure.

Cons

UI navigation can be a bit burdensome - it would be nice to be able to quickly launch new screens in new tabs (Alt+click doesn't work).

Support was helpful but ran me in circles once trying to figure out how a user got unsubscribed from a campaign through an API, and I'm still kinda confused by it. 3.

One of the most complete marketing automation tools

It includes everything from email capturing widgets on the website (via chat popups and forms), setting up email campaigns, sms sending, custom lead scoring and much more.

Cons

Last one, is that the Proactive headsup feature definitely needs to be more customizable in terms of when the headsup messages are triggered (e.g. trigger on 2nd visitor session, after x minutes on page, after y minutes have gone by, etc.)

Easy to setup first for simple campaigns. Reporting is quite powerful and easy to use.

Autopilot has so many features, yet it is quick, simple to use and has a great UI/UX. Almost always I know what to do right away.

Cons

I had some problems understanding the conversion funnel in the dashboard and had some problems with sending autopilot_id information when we wanted to track the user after form submission.

Their unique ui/ux make it very easy to set up campaigns that not only include email and SMS triggers, but unique integrations with companies such as Lob that let you programmatically send postcards.

Cons

There is room for improvement with people/user tracking. Currently we're using GoSquared to fill in the gaps.

By using Autopilot we can send emails to our customers as soon as they show interest in our products, we can track their activity on our page.

Cons

It is not as intuitive as it should be; However, once it is understood, it is much easier to configure the campaigns. In the same way, the tasks that it executes are not simple, so I understand that simplifying it is something to admire.

Simple and robust marketing automation

I was skeptical that such an inexpensive and simplified marketing automation platform could achieve our fairly complex marketing automation needs (a/b tested email campaigns with sub-funnels based on main funnel interaction, etc.) but was pleasantly surprised to find that it not only sufficed, but made it a hell of a lot easier to configure.

Improving on improvement

The cost per additional mobile app user is a bit annoying, but when we run the numbers, it still makes it a good investment to have most of our employees on the app.

Pros

I love the fact that it tracks my whole business from lead generation (that helps me fill in routes based on a map) to setting up the contract (with recurring services and pre-scheduled packages) to crew management (with photo uploads and clock-in/clock-out of jobs and contacting customers) to invoicing (which can be automatic) to receiving payment (even by credit card on the mobile app!).

Cons

Their asset management portion is in its beginning stages and is not incredibly useful at the moment, but they continue to build on their system and I suspect that they will soon have a robust equipment and vehicle management system.

The open rates on lead generation emails were as high as 75% and our reply rates jumped from 1% to 21% for similar campaigns.

Cons
