Pros

They were very responsive and did a great job helping me figure out the best way to use the software. The Event tool was nice and make event management through the list easy to do.
The data reporting on opens/clicks/etc. Is incredibly helpful to track which emails gain a good response and which time of the week works best to send to our audiences.
The program is easy to customize, There are plug and play templates as I like to call them. They look beautiful from the consumer side and are easy to understand from the creative side too.

Pros

Not only is it affordable for a small agency like mine, who works with small businesses, but it's extremely powerful, and capable of executing any strategy my team or my clients require.
I love the ease of use, interface, but most importantly all of Sharpspring employees, and how quickly they respond with tips, ideas, and help with support.
This allows us to better understand and track our users and help determined the best platforms to promote our campaigns.

Cons

Given the circumstances of the pandemic and not using the services to even log in during the last year, that was inconsiderate and unacceptable.
Very disappointing, frustrating, and countless email cammpaigns have been wasted due to Constant Contacts software rearranging and distoring the format of the original created email.
I was disappointed when the dropped the event portion of their program and integrated with Eventbrite.

Cons

The constant failure of the system, the automations fail. They are not fixing the bugs.
Their billing platform is absolutely ridiculous. They bill your clients directly, and not the agency using the platform saying that the client is the end user, not the agency managing the account.
We are now remarketing to leads that were missed during the initial buying cycle and reclaiming that lost revenue on top of increasing our close rate on new clients.

Excruciatingly Painful To Use This Tool

If the decision was up to me, I would move to a more intuitive platform with a better UX.

Pros

Not a thing. I have used many CRMs, lead gen and email at scale tools. I have never used a tool so clunky and complicated as this. I am opening support tickets on a daily basis, this tool seems outdated, too complex and more often than not leaves me frustrated and takes me away from my work.

Cons

There isn't even a title field available to fill out when adding new contacts to an account. Examples like this cause redundancy. I have noticed a lot of bugs, and struggle with the clunky interface. When you import contacts via CSV they then can't be added to your workflows easily and requires the process to be very manual, defeating the purpose. I have had to request support almost on a daily basis while I have appreciated the help of [sensitive content hidden], I can't help help but feel like things should not be this complex. I never had this much difficulty when using other platforms like salesforce, hubspot, salesloft and could easily use their platforms without in depth training, they were intuitive out of the box.

I like the options of dragging elements together so they fit where I want them to go. I find it easier to use than Sharpspring.

Cons

Sometimes, even after saving, when I click off and come back to an email I am creating the design elements have changed or spacing is off, etc.

A Lot to offer

It is a great product especially for the price. It is very easy to setup and use. The contact organization is excellent and it offers many functions with contact management that you can't get from other providers such as MailChimp. Also the customer service is always top notch!

Pros

It is extremely easy to use. Training staff in this program has been so quick and easy, even with people who have never used software like this.

Cons

I don't like the loss of some features in the 3rd gen. Getting rid of the html editor was a mistake, we used that regularly to manipulate text styles and colors.

Pros

We liked the ease of use of this software and how it sent out reminders so our prospects were always being contacted one day five days gen days thirty days and so forth. They were never forgotten.

Cons

The pricing of this was too much so we cancelled the service. We found that if we sent our own reminders thru our email it was just as effective and free.

Pros

We like Constant Contact for sending out complicated emails to large groups. This process is much easier than trying to create templates in other email programs.

Cons

I have had trouble creating consistent formatting. Sometimes pasting large text into Constant Contact can lead to issues.

Constant contacts has Better template designs and better lead list management than what I saw on mail chimp.

Pros

Constant Contact is now directly integrated into the CRM system that is utilized by the business. Makes this extremely easy to generate mass emails to filtered groups as well as seemlessly update our "do not email" list of within the CRM. This is all done directly through CC back to our CRM without office staff having to manually indicate this within the CRM data base.

Cons

Using templated email formats for letters, flyers, etc.. is easy but putting together custom projects is a bit more labor extensive.

We use constant contact to send email marketing to our database of over 10,000 contacts. It keeps our clients in the loop especially those who are 5 years away from purchase but are still very legitimate targets.

Pros

The interface is very intuitive, just drag and drop. Data-rich in a lot of ways. Connection with Canva opens up a lot of opportunities. Send retargeting emails to people who clicked certain links - highly effective.Customer support to reset my CNAME records was helpful.

Cons

Best used in Sharpspring, if you have to import contacts from your own database, then you're missing a lot of the potential of Constant Contact.One thing I'd change is the ability to more easily export click lists after an email is already sent.  I also wish there was a way to import larger files and just have it reduce the size automatically to the largest acceptable.

Since 2005, I've been utilizing Constant Contact. It is a crucial resource for my little business. I adore being able to send emails, design landing pages, develop automated campaigns, and more. The VERY few occasions I have required additional assistance, they have had wonderful customer service and it is EXTREMELY simple to use.

Cons

The event platform could use some improvement, however I am aware that this is a feature that is currently being updated. As I want to be able to create a beautiful landing page that will also gather lead information, I would love to see a combination of their lead generation landing pages and customisable landing pages.

What I like most about Constant Contact is that it is very easy to use, set up campaigns, and see the results.

Cons

What I like least about Constant Contact is that it doesn't have its own CRM, but it does have integrations!

Pros

The features and functionality are intuitive so there is little to no learning curve. It's easy to get started right away.

Cons

This product seems overpriced when compared to other CRM products that have virtually the same functionality for significantly less money.

Would recommend it for small medium size businesses and startups as you have the whole package to sart with.

Pros

One of the best software you can find for newsletter management and set up with ease. Lot of pre build layouts, custom options and lead capture options.

Cons

Pricing is more than other similar providers on the market. But, it gives some head starts in comparation with others.

Pros

Many different functionalities to take advantage of besides email, like surveys, CRM management, landing pages, etc.

Cons

Some of the features are still a little clunky and the wide variety makes for lack of depth within each (e.g. you can schedule a post to social media, but you can't tag accounts or edit articles). Sometimes the email editor can be a little clunky as well, but it is a drag and drop interface.

I have not been able to find anything that is a good enough replacement for Constant Contact. So I am very pleased.

Pros

Being able to schedule a series is the best for me. So I can set up emails to go out based off certain phases my lead is in.

Cons

That I can not edit something I created online from my phone. Because I use my phone more than my laptop, this functions is a must.

We were happy for years. Then Constant Contact destroyed the product and the culture.

Pros

I loved SharpSpring until Constant Contact slaughtered it and their support fell off a cliff.

Cons

Very confusing. Terrible email builder. Broken platform elements with no desire to fix...but they're happy charging you full price.

Pros

The deliverability of the eblasts is head and shoulders better than any other, including parent company Constant Contact. The service staff is bar none, the best I have worked with.

Cons

Better tracking of what is clicked, by whom and when. This is one feature of Constant Contact that I would like to see within SharpSpring.

Overall, SharpSpring has been excellent. We've been with them since before the purchase by Constant Contact, and the quality of the product has been worthwhile before and after the acquisition.

Pros

SharpSpring lets us manage a wide variety of marketing and client management activities in one easy-to-use platform. Everything from marketing automation, to transparent sales pipelines, to persona-focused automated (and adjustable) messaging tools, we can save hundreds of hours on marketing tasks, while regularly engaging our clients' prospects and increasing overall sales.

Cons

SharpSpring could work on improving their help files significantly. While their live support staff are excellent, I feel like for most questions, I have to contact them, rather than simply look up a well-written help article to get many answers.

Pros

It is hard to pick a favorite thing about SharpSpring. The product offers so many tools that we simply love. But I guess the greatest thing about SharpSpring is its people. From sales to onboarding, to support, the customer service is exactly the top-notch customer service we strive to offer ourselves. Their staff is accessible, knowledgable, and incredibly helpful.

Cons

Some of the email templates are a little tricky. We stick with the basic templates and they work for us. I am excited about the acquisition of SharpSpring by Constant Contact because I know they will make improvements to the templates.

Pros

SharpSpring from Constant Contact provides a very user-friendly experience. The features that are most vital for our business that we take advantage of are building and sending mass emails, as well as the automation visual workflow builder they offer. Our overall experience with SharpSpring has been very pleasant. Mainly, the customer support they offer is second to none.

Cons

We find that building forms and landing pages sometimes proves to be difficult. Also, we have had issues with the tracking of contacts through our website.

Sharpspring CRM & Marketing Automation

Sharpspring combines almost all the functionality of modern CRM Systems with Marketing Automation for a fraction of the price. The way the software is positioned, you are best off working through an agency as they can often give you the software and servicing for less than the software costs itself. It's pretty versatile and really hits home in bang for the buck - giving you the same functionality as software that costs upwards to $ per month. It's also nice that the pricing is not per seat, which can get pretty annoying if you have a large organization or if you're growing quickly.

Pros

I really like the bang for the buck. There are constant new features being added. Customer support is solid.

Cons

It's still a work in progress. While they have a lot of functionality, not everything is seemless. One feature I'd really like is the ability to forward an email and have a contact automatically created or to use a chrome extension to pull in someone from LinkedIn.

Pros

The software is constantly developing and being updated to include new features and functionalities. If there's something you want to be able to do that you can't do currently, you can vote for it and likely will be implemented before long.

Cons

You will likely need a person within your org to devote a lot of time into being completely familiar with the software to get the most out of it. It's not the software to interact with passively.

Amazing functionality, world class support, great training, and a super competitive price

Fantastic. We get stuck occasionally and the SharpSpring support is world class. They will always help and often even make the change for us when we are really stuck then tell us how they did it. We are really only scratching the surface of the capabilities and look forward to making more use of SharpSpring in 2019.

Pros

We've been using SharpSpring in our business for nearly 3 years. We use it to get to know our customers behaviour, analyse their activity in emails, on the site, downloading, etc. then we use that information to marketi back to them. The ROI is astounding. Recently SharpSpring has introduced social posting and listening which is amazing. It even includes Visitor ID so it has replaced Constant contact, Lead forensics, Sprout social, and our Salesforce software as we use it for our CRM.

Cons

As it's so feature rich and the workflow and automations are really powerful, you will need to go through a learning curve. 18 months ago SharpSpring introduced visual workflows which has made life a lot easier. We still use Lucid Chart for mapping workflows and keeping notes as when you come back to a workflow 6 months after building it you really need the flow chart to help you see what's happening.
