Navigation "Where things live" i.e. standard campaigns vs. triggered campaigns Integration Reporting could be a bit more robust for programmed triggered campaigns

Automated email marketing campaigns.
We recently switched from another service to Dotmailer because it allowed us to connect it to our shopping cart and build automated programs that send emails out to users depending on certain criteria. We were able to easily build a program that monitors abandoned carts and post-purchase follow ups.
It's rather expensive. Unfortunately we have a very large catalog so the cost to sync this data to Dotmailer is quite high.

Easy to use for the experienced marketer.
This is great for detailed email campaigns and drip campaigns. My company uses very detailed campaigns and follows very specific customer journey paths and Dotmailer makes it very easy to do things like this.
Might be confusing to use for people that have never done email marketing before. I have tried promoting Dotmailer to someone who has never done anything with email before and they were very confused about the entire process.

It made creating email campaigns much easier.
Ease of use and Preview functions. The editor's drag and drop function is quick and easy to assemble a campaign from scratch. The in-program image editor allows for quick resizing and tweaking of individual images, without the need to export to an external program and re-import the re-edited image. Customer support has been great!
Limited font point sizes (without going into the html code). There is no place to add notes or comments about a campaign when sending a test to someone.

The two things we find most valuable: 1. Deliverability. We trust many of our best campaigns to Dotmailer. 2. Reporting. We get great reporting that helps us run our campaigns.

Coming from an almost zero experience with email marketing, engaging Dotmailer has helped us see our best growth year to date.
We really enjoyed the ease of setting up campaigns after we learned how to. It's been a very useful tool in expanding our reach.
Some limitations on quantity of campaigns, and some of the custom complexities are a bit cumbersome to learn.

We significantly increased our access to features and tools when we went from an entry-level email marketing software to Dotmailer
We really appreciate the integration with Magento b/c we are able to easily setup data feeds and survey forms
Its a little challenging to setup Drip Campaigns which would dramatically improve the relevance of our email marketing

for basic blast campaigns it works fine and integrates pretty easily with Magento.
Integrates well with Magento 2, relatively straightforward workflow tool and WYSIWIG email editing. Creating custom segments is fairly straightforward too.
Needs better personalization options. Lacks machine learning for customer segments & LTV tools which other ESPs like Listrak and Emarsys have. Very poor implementation of time-of-day optimization feature -- you still can't schedule an optimized send in advance which makes the feature essentially useless in practice.

Dotmail is overall a good email software to use, a few logistical setbacks.. but nothing that can't be overcome.
Dotmailer is a onestop shop for all your email campaigns. The organization of the software helps to keep all contacts and campaigns in order, while still making everything easy to find. Although very user friendly, I have run into minor glitches
The option to build the entire email using code makes it difficult for the average user to create an email campaign. However, There are other ways to do it. One other set back is the time it takes for customer care to respond to any ticket you submit, response time isn't always great.

It gives us some flexibility and convenience to send out our email campaigns. Also the documentation is great.
Customer service is outstanding. Any time we've had an issue or question, we received a prompt and thorough response. It's also one of the most robust email platforms we've ever used. The email templates are also very helpful.
The surveys and forms are a bit limiting in functionality right now. We were trying to include a pop up on our website to encourage email sign ups but we were extremely limited in our ability to customize it to make it match our brand standards.

We can easily and quickly create email blasts. Recommended templates are helpful.
I like the recommended templates that come in Dotmailer. We are excited to implement triggered campaigns.
Designing can be tricky as Dotmailer uses a very specific code. Can be frustrating until you get the hang of it. Sometimes unexplained errors occur but luckily support is helpful and very quick to respond.

Quick and easy execution of email campaigns (e-blasts and automation), plus great reporting. Also, easy integration with Shopify.
Easy to use template and flow builder, folders to organize lists, segments, images, and campaigns. In-depth reporting. Built-in Litmus testing.
I would love to see the ability to build printable dashboard reports by compiling existing report widgets. Aslo, would be great to have out-of-the-box email flows.

Dotmailer is very flexible and you will have a lot of options for your e-mail campaigns.
The cost of course. Its not for everyone and especially if you have a large e-mail base.

It's preatty easy to use and it's easy to find info on how to create campaigns or automation online.
At first it's not simple to catch all features included in the software... But again really easy to find all the info you need.

I was quickly able to build my skill in creation of emails, reach a wider audience, and push relevant content to the email list.
I enjoy the drag-and-drop campaign builder and segmentation that are offered, I find that our organization can go back regularly to templates and rebuild similarly styled emails. I also find that Dotmailer helps us reach our audience in the most sophisticated way through Programs that are uniquely tailored to the email subscriber.
I would like for there to be a few tweaks to the address book and segment functionality. I feel in some ways the system requires you to choose one or the other, when I'd like to be able to use a segment vs. an address book. I also would like it to be easier to select campaigns in the segment builder-- i.e. pin selected campaigns at the top.

It is an upgrade from our previous software. It is very easy to create campaigns. The drip campaign program creator is a little challenging.
The training process should be more thorough. There are not enough details or topics covered in training. Leads to mistakes.

We have integrated it into Magento for abandoned carts, newsletter subscriptions, welcome programs, and other automated email marketing initiatives.
I love that I can integrate it directly into Magento and strategically build campaigns based on the customer and order data within my eCommerce store.
I'd have to say paying for data storage. Magento can become very large, and storing the information with Dotmailer is pricey.

The user interface is simple to use and offers a great user experience when building email campaigns. The tools provided to build email campaigns make those of us without a design background look like a genius. The drag and drop features make building custom templates a breeze. The simplicity of the interface shouldn't distract from the powerful software that allows for automation email programs. The customer service is second to none. A top notch support team quickly identifies and resolves any issues. Our customer success manager analyzes our campaigns and provides helpful insights to make each one more effective.
Until the recent upgrade, the reporting feature left room for improvement. The new version of reporting has a better interface and more robust features and better analytics.

So far nothing yet as revenue is drastically down and customers aren't receiving emails. Campaigns are easy to setup but that's irrelevant until these delivery issues are solved.
Emails are easy to setup and send out but as they're no making it into customers in boxes that doesn't really matter now does it.
While they maybe easy to setup that doesn't matter is they're not making it into the inboxes they should be! Since switching to dotmailer in Jan email revenue has been down +40% and we've received complaints from customers and employees alike that they used to receive our emails but no longer do. Customer support has been very non-responsive and the lack of urgency is alarming. This is having a real negative impact on our business and no one seams to care to help us fix this!

Dotmailer helps us maintain our email database, segment customers and send out targeted emails to new and existing customers we want to reach.
Great tool for segmenting different email groups and setting up automatic trigger email campaigns so we can really target the exact customer we want to reach.
Sometimes hard to figure out how to use without training and more training comes at an extra charge.

We were able to send strategic and successful automated email campaigns to engage our customer base. We were able to design cleaner and more attractive templates than we have ever had before.
Ease of use and template designer. Ease of contact and segment management. Support was always ready and willing to help even if they could not resolve issue. Pricing is very affordable for what you get as well.
No way to track ROI, for our account at least. Issues with Outlook 13 and Outlook web compatibility.

We are saving money and improving results.
The system is very easy to use. Automations are very easy to configure, setup, and start using. We get results!
Sometimes scheduling can be wonky. It's a slighty strange that campaigns have to be copied in order to send to multiple time zones at different times, instead of scheduling the same email to send to multiple segments at respective times.

We're trying to take our email program to the next level while improving usability for staff. I love the combination of a great interface for building campaigns along with robust automation and behavioral marketing tools.
Ease of use, good onboarding, integration of SMS, landing pages, forms and surveys
So far, there are very few cons. More templates would be great as the ability to edit custom templates without the markup changing in such a way that mobile is compromised.

I have worked with dotmailer for a year now. They're customer success helped me to create campaigns that improved revenue from email by 98% in 11 months. They also gave me a great discount being a nonprofit. As a marketer and not a programmer, Dotmailer has made it easy for me to create sophisticated & segmented campaigns to reach target different demographics. Any time I have a question or a problem, my customer success manager always helps me to sort it out in a timely manner.
Easy to use Great Customer Success Advanced Sophistication
Lacking integrations with several of the technologies I work with as a nonprofit. Was quite a jump in price from mailchimp.

It's easy to set up campaigns. Even for someone with minimal coding knowledge. The platform has some flexibility so we can get creative to fulfill certain actions that would not have been possible on another platform.
Just the email send limitation. It's a bit of a nuisance to keep track of the number of emails we send out and increasing our limit is very costly.
