Decent Platform, but Beware the Extra Fees

Overall, Emma is certainly on par with most of the well-known email marketing management platforms and has good insights and customization options.

Pros

Additionally, building out an API so that it spoke to our personnel database made updating contact information and managing unsubscribes considerably easier.

Cons

Most of these issues only occurred when copying and pasting content into the draft.

Simple and Easy to use Platform

We've been using Emma for basic email marketing to customers that sign up for a loyalty program.

Pros

- Easy to start up and use - Simple to import contacts and track marketing attempts - User interface is very streamlined and easy to navigate - Ability to measure metrics and results via a mobile app

- Pricing scheme is a little hard to understand - Would like better integrations with other software platforms

Pros

Great analytics for open rates, click rates, and user-level response data.

Cons

I don't like that there isn't a simple "undo" button - but there is a version history I don't like that sometimes the CMS editing gets funky / doesn't honor what you are selecting for font types etc. I wish it was more responsive with Android.

Excellent enterprise email marketing

The cost is very competitive and most of our divisions and departments are actually paying less through Emma than they were with services like Constant Contact (we do cost-sharing).

Pros

We share branded templates globally to get beginners up and running quickly.

Cons

Small issue but it doesn't support multiple users logged into the same campaign in the way that MailChimp did.

Email Automation and Insight with Ease

We are much happier with it in comparison to our formal software Constant Contact - the customer service is just more responsive, and the interface is so easy to use that we are able to have interns use with little direction.

Pros

We are able to manage and automate customer campaigns all with one login - we are also able to visually show our customers the effectiveness of the design and lay out not just the messaging

Cons

I wish that the templates were a bit more flexible so we could create ones not available in the system - however the option to work with a designer is quite nice and have used that service several times.

Great ESP for Enterprise Level

System works as advertised, allows us to use more advance features and integrations and the always available call in customer service is very helpful when needed.

Pros

I currently use this to manager multiple brands as sub-accounts under a single primary account.

Cons

The only real item on my wish list would be the ability to build a segment on the review and send tab instead of actually building a segment, saving it and then going through the process of sending your campaign and selecting the segment then.

This software would be good for beginners in the internet marketing age. It gives you a good baseline of features the crowning jewel of which is their email marketing.

Cons

Why not take those email clients and direct them to social media? Or why can't we have some joint metric data between the email blasts and my web store?

Emma allows you to show the content in a way in which users prefer to consume it. The statistics of the email campaigns is also a huge pro to the Emma platform.

Pros

I've used other email marketing tools that only allow one group to be added to an email campaign. This causes a lot of frustration and having to create multiple different email lists that have mostly the same people, but different variances.

Cons

I'm unable to change the color of that ribbon to match the other branding of the page and it sticks out in a negative way as a result.

Attractive Newsletters but Slow Site

I need to be able to publish professional-looking mailings that will draw people in and make them want to engage. emma lets my entire company send mass-mailings from one place with the different group options and templates.

Pros

Editing the newsletter takes very little time, and with the templates and tools it's easy to make a quality-looking newsletter without a graphic designer. The analytics emma provides about mailings is very helpful in seeking to improve and testing which type of messaging works best.

Cons

Adding new audience members or running a search takes a lot of time, which is frustrating and surprising.

Not Intuitive to Use

Pros

It was easy to design template and easy to update contacts

Cons

The text and images seemed to always get skewed. I had to go through all the backend code to find the glitch and then correct every little bit. Even when I put the copy in notepad first, when I then copied into emma it would add extra code.

It also is a way for our organization to quickly alert our members of last minute notifications without having to hunt down emails of who you need to contact, you just select a group!

Cons

You have to 'add' a person, you cant just create a campaign and send it to a list of emails that aren't in the system.
