Pros

Encourages cross-team communications. Great support from the vendor, and strong community of users and third-party integrators.
Was quite easy to understand for novice and navigate around and had easy to use and useful automated marketing features that made reaching a large audience seamlessly easy.
We use salesforce daily to engage with customers on a daily basis. It has been very helpful in managing customer journeys, sending and preparing emails, and getting good reporting.

Pros

The team is great with helping you troubleshoot any problems and my team loves how easy it is to use.
I really love and appreciate the ease of use. It's super easy to throw together an email, assign tags, create lists, etc.
I am so happy to have Active Campaign on board. It is just what I needed to help promote my online program.

Cons

The price, the user experience, the lack of multibrand use. When I threatened to take my business elsewhere we had one call with the VP but then he stopped responding to calls and emails.
It felt like they were just as fed up with this crap tool as we are. Although they didn't say it, I think one of our key employees quit over the frustration of dealing with marketing cloud.
Not all pending sends will list themselves under "Pending Sends," so that has caused some issues with accidentally sending the same email to the same list more than once.

Cons

And that hurt our webinar registration for that week (which was a bummer) and we found out about this on the day of the webinar.
The major problem is the lack of ability to copy an email to more than the recipient. The lack of this feature is putting the continued use of this product in doubt.
I've a problem to pay for my upgrade plan due to an currency problem. The website automatically converts the price to my local currency.

Pros

The personalization options are pretty cool. But when you use them (with AMPscript) the Journey Builder is pretty much useless as Engagement Splits don't work with them.

Cons

Where to start. - Extremely buggy system. We had multiple issues with the Journey Builder that resulted in a number of our subscribers receiving thousands of emails which put us on the spam list for Gmail. - The Journey Builder is extremely rigid. You have to create new versions if you want to make even the smallest edit. Then you'll likely need to double check every single step because things break...

Overall, they're good for certain use cases, but not as a full fledge marketing automation tool compared to market leaders. Price point is right around the average and you get what you pay for (maybe a bit less)

Pros

Workflow automation builder is pretty solid. Email designer and content management features are nice. Good for webinar promotions with a plethora of native system integrations.

Cons

Syncing with Salesforce is delayed and requires duplicative work in terms of deleting/merging contacts in Salesforce.

Dans certaines situations, vous pouvez vouloir un outil au niveau de l'entreprise, par exemple, Salesforce qui peut offrir plus d'options et couvrir plus de lignes de produits réels. Je pense que c'est très situationnel. Mais pour le marketing par courrier électronique et l'automatisation du marketing pour les petites et moyennes entreprises. AC est presque toujours plus souhaitable que d'autres plateformes considérées, par exemple, plus d'opportunités offertes que MailChimp, meilleur que le terrible système qu'est ConstantContact, etc..

If I had to recommend a single email marketing and automation tool, it's AC

AC has helped my business and clients alike in being able to seamlessly create email marketing campaigns regularly. In addition, the automation features are helpful to be able to tag specific contacts, start/end automated email series, and so on. There are limitless possibilities, without a *need* to use every feature to make it worthwhile.

Pros

AC provides the best combination of possibilities (features), user experience (ease of use), and pricing (it's affordable!).

Cons

There are situations when you may want a tool that is at the "enterprise" level (e.g., Salesforce) that may provide more options and span more actual product lines. I think it's very situational. But for specifically email marketing and marketing automation for small to mid-sized businesses, AC almost always is a more desirable fit than other platforms considered (e.g., more opportunity provided than MailChimp, all-around better than the terrible system that is ConstantContact, etc).

We love the ability to build "smart" workflows to trigger different messages and content to users at different points of their onboarding journey. The ability to segment and automate the process is really fantastic.

Activecampaign is great when it comes to email drip campaign setup

Pros

Acticecampaign has a robust marketing automation system which is straight forward and very powerful. It's email marketing system is epic which have allowed us to setup drip campaigns to nurture our leads and close sales. It has simple to use automations and triggers to easily setup campaign. I track all the action my subscribers take.

Cons

The email marketing report system of Activecampaign is clucky

If you're not ready for full-on marketing integration like Salesforce, it's worth checking out.

We've been integrating AC into our marketing process for the past 6-9 months. We're pretty much fully integrated at this point, but we're still not sure we're going to stick with it, as big of a headache as it would be to pack up shop and move somewhere else.

Pros

We were looking for a platform that we could tie via API to our app and the other tools in our marketing stack, to handle marketing automation and email blasts, as well as functioning as a CRM. It's a pretty saturated market, but AC stood out because it did most of what we thought we wanted to do, without the intense commitment of Salesforce or full-on Hubspot integration. For the most part, it's done what we wanted it to do with some minor hiccups. Customer service has been great.

Cons

- Most tools like this are built to integrate with other existing tools (shopify carts, wordpress pages, etc). Our app (site) is custom built, so we haven't been able to realize the full power we wanted (no customized abandoned shopping cart emails, etc). - AC is going up against competitors that do a really good job at UX/UI and general design. I'd put them in the middle of the pack in this regard. It's frequently not very intuitive--it often requires more clicks than should be necessary, or dumps you on a page without an indication of what to do next, or links away from the page you're on without an easy way to get back, etc. - We've had a few bugs that customer service has been helpful with, but have still left us wondering if we made the right decision.

Great Product, but deliverability could be better

Overall, our team likes Active Campaign and the ease of use. But the switching of servers has darkened a very good product. The key factor in any email marketing software is deliverability. Both times they switched our servers the servers that they put us on were so poor that emails within our own domain would be picked up by our spam filters and placed in quarantine.

Pros

- Very easy to create templates - Vast automation tools - New app integrates well with Salesforce Lightning

Cons

Immediately after renewing our service (twice) our sending servers were switched which created deliverability issues. After considerable back and forth with their deliverability team, we were finally switched to a third server which was better for deliverability.

I remember our marketing team complaining a lot with the previous software they used. Now we moved to ActiveCampaign and everyone seems happy with this choice. Even our customers said the designs were better (thank you for the templates!). We have higher results and it's what matters.

Great. Reasonable pricing and the depth of a Keap/Salesforce with no major issues setting up.

Pros

This software is inexpensive yet has the depth and automation processes of software with several times the cost. True power with understanding pricing.

Cons

No major cons yet. The plugins and automations when using Zapier or direct integrations can be confusing to navigate.

Good marketing automation all-in-one tool

Active Campaign is a great tool to start E-Mail marketing and marketing automation endeavors.

Pros

What I like most is that ActiveCampaign is an all-in-one E-Mail Marketing tool, that enables the sendout of newsletters, the creation of e-mail marketing automations, lists, landing pages and much more. The tool has great integrations with Zapier that enables lead generation campaigns from other marketing channels (e.g. Meta, Google). E.g. we target users interested in our white papers on Facebook and integrate them to our e-mail marketing campaigns with ActiveCampaign.

Cons

For highly customized layouts and designs, ActiveCampaign is not the right tool. The landing pages do not really look very nice, and it is not easy customizing them. Furthermore, we had problems reaching the support the time our account got blocked. The Lead Scoring capabilities in ActiveCampaign are given, however they are not easy and intuitive.

We are using ActiveCampaign for all sales and marketing related stuff. CRM, Sales, Marketing Automations, Emails.

Pros

Extremely simple to use, clean visuals, useful features, it doesn't have hundreds of pointless menus and features, focusing on what matters most. Also, pricing for us in Brazil is very competitive.

Cons

Company administration settings panel could be better, landing page builder could have more options like custom code/css.

Pros

The best thing I like about this software is Marketing and CRM utilization. There is a great deal of efficiency aimed at the status of marketing content, the ability for a user to plan ahead using their own threshold measurements (level), and multiple user advantages.

Cons

The software is difficult to set and also pricey.

Poor product and customer support

Maybe the best set of features out there - CRM + Email Marketing + Marketing Automation. Unfortunately these features don't really work...

Cons

I haven't seen a software with more bugs - and they never get fixed. A few days ago my campaign was sent to people whom I specifically excluded. So we had to deal with angry customers. At the same time we haven't got any response from the customer support for 5 days. Whenever you have a serious problem they stop answering for days. We have been customers for almost 3 years but I am really disappointed and looking for an alternative.
