Pros

Encourages cross-team communications. Great support from the vendor, and strong community of users and third-party integrators.
Was quite easy to understand for novice and navigate around and had easy to use and useful automated marketing features that made reaching a large audience seamlessly easy.
We use salesforce daily to engage with customers on a daily basis. It has been very helpful in managing customer journeys, sending and preparing emails, and getting good reporting.

Pros

They were very responsive and did a great job helping me figure out the best way to use the software. The Event tool was nice and make event management through the list easy to do.
The data reporting on opens/clicks/etc. Is incredibly helpful to track which emails gain a good response and which time of the week works best to send to our audiences.
The program is easy to customize, There are plug and play templates as I like to call them. They look beautiful from the consumer side and are easy to understand from the creative side too.

Cons

The price, the user experience, the lack of multibrand use. When I threatened to take my business elsewhere we had one call with the VP but then he stopped responding to calls and emails.
It felt like they were just as fed up with this crap tool as we are. Although they didn't say it, I think one of our key employees quit over the frustration of dealing with marketing cloud.
Not all pending sends will list themselves under "Pending Sends," so that has caused some issues with accidentally sending the same email to the same list more than once.

Cons

Given the circumstances of the pandemic and not using the services to even log in during the last year, that was inconsiderate and unacceptable.
Very disappointing, frustrating, and countless email cammpaigns have been wasted due to Constant Contacts software rearranging and distoring the format of the original created email.
I was disappointed when the dropped the event portion of their program and integrated with Eventbrite.

Pros

This software is an online SAAS, and is some of the most powerful Marketing Software on the planet. The software is best used in an environment where personalized, but mass email communication is needed--typically for B2C situations. Pardot is an ideal product for B2B solutions. Although the product can be configured and used by end-users, it is best to work with a partner.

Cons

There are many updates needed in order to make the software work in a more user-friendly fashion, particularly when compared with less powerful solutions, like Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc. A Salesforce partner will cost additional money to implement the solution, but it is a good investment.

ExactTarget (now Salesforce Marketing Cloud) has been very helpful for our organization. We built out our B2B strategy using ET and are now working on building our B2C strategy using their tool. Their tech support is impeccable with the ability to reach a real human being immediately with most problems solved instantly. If you need some powerful features, give ET a try.

Pros

Constant software updates and feature adds. Great phone support. Powerful email features.

Cons

Lead scoring for Salesforce isn't there yet, though they have mentioned it's coming.

The SF outlook plugin can definitely do better - glitchy, love the outlook email sync function to tracking directly on track activity but it is a lot of manual clicking involved to get responded emails on tracking activities

Salesforce is easy to use for people who are unfamiliar with the software.

Pros

Salesforce is extremely useful keeping an organized sales, accounts, and contacts. The opportunity pipeline allows you to foresee your company's future and plan well for your business. It is helpful that all contacts, address information, opportunities, and notes are all found in the same account. Tracking activities within Salesforce facilitates good communication with all users.

Cons

Inputting addresses and contact info can be tedious. Salesforce does not easily integrate without softwares, Procore, to transmit data.

SFMC provides ability to segment the lists through automation studio and it really helps to slice and dice the data. Auidence builder and contact builder also helps to unleash a lot of marketing power

It is a highly technical product so most of the marketing people find it hard to use. Salesforce customer support also is not ideal

I use Sales force because it integrates with most auto-dialers and lets me organize and keep in contact with my customers and prospects. I didn't realize how much I was loosing before using Sales force.

Cons

Salesforce can do so much that learning the features can take some time. Lots of apps and upgrades to learn.

Salesforce Marketing Cloud has been a great all-in-one solution for my team as we previously relied on multiple tools for customer journey management, email campaigns, and analytics, not to mention updating the CRM after. The UX was pretty easy to understand and the platform and the list feature has made pipeline management so much more efficient

Cons

One of our campaigns bugged and contacts received duplicate emails. When I tried to contact customer service, it was almost impossible to get in touch so we had to figure out the solution internally which took a while. The price is also pretty high if your company is not paying for it

SalesForce has a long learning curve. A rudimentary knowledge of it can take you a long way, but you will not be making full use of it -- especially as a nonprofit, that normally would have limited resources.

Pros

There are many great features about SalesForce, including the AppExchange. It gives us a lot of flexibility with regards to events, volunteer management and donation recordings. The feature of recording contacts is easy and prominent, unlike other systems where it is hidden.

Cons

Although it advertises itself with a feature to compose and create newsletters, the feature is not user-friendly and it is awkward to use. It is easy to create text but tough to format. Several apps in the product are repetitive when creating a contact, especially in the Auctions for SalesForce feature.

Marketing Cloud is the optimal integration for our Salesforce-powered website

We love the integration with our current Salesforce Commerce Cloud website and the ability to track everything within and not worry about dozens of different integrations to accomplish the same thing. Because Salesforce is a larger company, you can expect great support, knowledgeable account managers, and constant improvements. As with any platform, there are things we'd like for it to be able to do, I'm confident that in time, many of those things will become available. And anything that doesn't, we'll continue to use 3rd party integrations.

Pros

As with all things SalesForce you can expect nothing but the top level of customer support and options. We currently run a Salesforce website, so the integration is flawless and easy. There's not much additional setup or any big learning curve to start using it. The Marketing Cloud is a great way to easily manage our social media accounts, facebook posting, and email automation solutions. Because this platform is integrated with our website, it's still very easy to have outside vendors and software solutions that integrate with it. An example of that is that we still use Mailchimp to help manage our email channel even though the Marketing Cloud offers an email solution as part of their software.

Cons

The main disadvantages of using this software are pretty much the same disadvantages of any of the Salesforce platforms and/or integrations. For the uninitiated those are: - Some of the most costly software that accomplishes the same tasks as other platforms - Can be a bit complicated to navigate due to the sheer possibilities + abilities you have using the Salesforce platform. If you understand both the expenses associated with using Salesforce and have people who can either learn it, or teach it, then i'd say there's no other real disadvantages to using it!

Great for managers to pull reports - HORRIBLE for salespeople who create teh informationi on which those reports depend.

As I said, this produces great reports for managers. And managment is the deparmtnet that ends up making purchases of solutions like this. Without ever consulting the actual in-the-trenches sales team. So they buy it for their needs butn not for the needs of their sales reps. Consequently, the number of meetings increases trying to fiuge re out why sales have dropeed and outbound calls have dropped, etc. And this takes motre time away from active selling. Salesforce creates a downward spirtal in sales.

Pros

It's better than using 3 x 5 index cards

Cons

Too many boxes to be checked on every single contact attempt that is made. Difficult to use. Extremely slow for a sales rep trying to mak any number of calls. I used to use GOLDMINE and made twice the number of calls daily than I could when I had to use SaleForce. These are very true numbers. easily made 70 - 100 calls a day with Goldmaine. Only able to make about 30-35 tops using Sales Force.

A huge waste of time

Working with the support team is extremely painful. We spent hours over multiple weeks showing them our issues over video. Their premium support resources often couldn't figure out how to resolve our issues. It felt like they were just as fed up with this crap tool as we are. Although they didn't say it, I think one of our key employees quit over the frustration of dealing with marketing cloud.

Pros

I don't like anything about this software.

Cons

The integration with Salesforce is WAY oversold in the marketing materials. Moving data back and forth between the two products is extremely finicky and prone to breaking. Expect lots of duplication of data and lists that will invariably be out of sync. Managing email opt out lists with two systems of record from the same company is a CAN-SPAM nightmare. The integration's administrative tools can't...

Streer clear of Marketing Cloud if you're a small company

It's 2020 and this product has the UX of the 2000's and a backlog of tech debt and bugs for a premium price. For a small business I'd HIGHLY recommend going with something else. Not only do you pay a PREMIUM price for Marketing Cloud, but you'll also end up spending more time than you should trying to figure out this product. There are "features" that exist, like data conversion on automations, but you'll have to spend time figuring out that they exist so you can e-mail support and request they turn them on, when they should have just been there in the first place.

Pros

I like that Send Time Optimization was included, this was extra with the previous e-mail marketing product we used.

Cons

First, we ended up in Google's black hole even when following the plan laid out by our integration partner. That you need an integration partner to get a small business setup should have been a huge red flag, but we thought we were stepping up to a more powerful e-mail product. There are bugs everywhere. Pros

It is very easy to create nice looking email marketing ads with Constant Contact. Drag and drop cloud-based software that enables those with a basic understanding of marketing to push their content to the next level.

Cons

Emails can get bounced as spam on some servers.

Constant Contact offers marketing tools via email for both users and administration. Constant Contact supplies users and administrators customization of emails. Constant Contact provides various options such as reporting, registering, campaigning, and customer feedback. Constant Contact has integration of software applications such as Word Press, Formstack, Facebook, MindBody, Outlook, HootSuite, and Salesforce. Constant Contact offers email marketing templates.

Cons

Plans of services not provided on the Constant Contact site. Variations of information may not appear as clearly in the mobile application as oppose to the windows application. Within the editor tool, inserting inline images may not appear depending on the file type. As an administrator or user, attempting to cancel services may not transpire as quickly but the Constant Contact team is working towards a resolution. Constant Contact displays a limited number of archived reports as it relates to email analytics.

Pros

Constant Contact has been around a long time, so they are doing something right. Constant Contact offers a feature packed email marketing platform that includes one month's free trial and integrates nicely with several industry standard applications, including Outlook, Shopify and Salesforce.

Cons

The pricing structure is not clear before you sign up. A cost calculator would be a significant advantage. Constant Contact has a tiered pricing model depending on how many contacts you have and what plan you are on.

Not a whole lot. Honestly, I think its a rip off for what they charge without any guarantee of return.

Cons

It's not an effective form of marketing anymore. You are much better off using MailChimp for your email marketing needs.

Easy to use email marketing platform with a professional looking interface and excellent reporting features.

Pros

Constant Contact is one of the best email marketing platforms because it offers a variety of built-in templates. It even indicates which templates will display correctly on mobile devices. The templates are easy to customize in Constant Contacts editor. Creating, uploading, and managing contact lists is also very simple. The contact manager allows you to assign tags to contacts to track how they signed up for your email list, how long they have been a subscriber, etc.

Cons

If you are looking for an email marketing platform that offers marketing automation, pass on constant contact. It does offer a basic automation for the first few interactions with customers but, does not allow you to adjust your marketing to your customer's specific actions.

My experience with Constant Contact is largely around their integration with Salesforce.com. I am impressed with the Constant Contact functionality but am less impressed with their out of the box integration with Salesforce. It requires too many steps to get the job done.

Pros

Great emailing functionality. Inside the software it is easy to use.

Cons

Getting data from Salesforce to Constant Contact is challenging. Their integration could use some work and also it would be nice to get more than just a basic response back from Constant Contact to load into Salesforce.

I've know and used Constant Contact for many years and been able to utilize the various integrated tools it provides in the service of my client's marketing objectives.

Pros

Constant Contact makes email marketing easy even for individuals and small businesses who have never run an email marketing campaign themselves before.

Cons

What's not to like? This is the email marketing software that made it possible for small businesses to be competitive with companies that have their own large marketing departments.

I use the product to send invitations and email reminders to people we are inviting to up and coming events. I enjoy the overall idea of the product but wish they had some other options for users to choose from.

Pros

Need to have more explanations as far as the invitation and sign ups are concerned it is hard to understand what the landing page is and if the items are being emailed or if they are just hitting at social media levels.

Cons

Best Marketing Software for Non Profit

I have a donor list of over 1500 names, so email contact just won't work. Constant Contact helps me keep in contact with my donor or donors very easily and in an organized fashion.

Pros

Very easy to use, LOTS of premade templates and tutorials. Great for somebody just starting out. The customer support team is great super responsive very quickly!

Cons

I have actually trialed a few other email marketing software. Constant Contact is one of the more pricier software out there for marketing. But you get what you pay for.

I like that it is easy to send emails for marketing/event purposes. It is easy to track who opens and clicks links too.

Cons

Pros

Email marketing campaigns and other forms of keeping touch with a customer can sometimes become cumbersome, or with a lot of customers can be costly. Constant Contact has been a market leader for a long time. I've used it in various functions off-and-on since 2008. It has changed quite a bit, but still offers great value for the various possibilities of use.

Cons

Sometimes it is easier to create marketing campaigns in choices such as Mailchimp, but for the mass marketing business needs constant contact seems to be better quality. Just depends on the user and usage.
