It gets the job done for an ESP. It had a good native integration with Litmus. I liked the reporting feature that visually showed where users where clicking in an email.
It doesn't have as many advanced automation features as products like Marketo and isn't as inuitive to use as Hubspot. The customer service and sales team was probably the worst I've seen from an enterprise product. Even though it's owned by Salesforce, it isn't as well integrated as Marketo. It's playing catch up.

Complex journey builder helps in creating unique business use cases. Would love it to be more in sync with salesforce instantly like marketo does via a simple drag and drop feature.
The ability to create complex journeys. Build business units. Granular Segmentation in Data Extensions.
Static. Is not instantly synced with Salesforce via a drag and drop feature. Data Extensions need to be created every time.

very useful! A good tool for medium and large companies.
We use salesforce daily to engage with customers on a daily basis. It has been very helpful in managing customer journeys, sending and preparing emails, and getting good reporting.
Maybe it's a little difficult to learn at first, but the learning phase is quite fast and you end up knowing it very quickly

My organization uses Salesforce Marketing Cloud to help provide quantifiable metrics for our marketing spend. Overall, we have found it to be a robust platform. The marketing automation it is able to perform is top-notch. It has helped us to engage integrate our "thinkers" (analysts and data-driven specialists) with our ability to engage our consumers, both B2B and B2C. If your company can afford it, I would recommend it: it is money well spent.
Integration of various marketing channels. Provides qualitative analytics. Strong boost for social media efficacy.

Marketo is robust and can be configured to meet most business cases. It integrates well with many systems/services. For example, Marketo integrates better with Salesforce than Salesforce Marketing Cloud. There is a solid user group/community. Things like Content AI and Web Personalization take personalization across your digital marketing to the next level. Training is required to use a lot of features.
You have to build your own preference center. This doesn't come out-of-the-box. UI is bad, and Marketo Sky will help fix this, but it's taking forever for Marketo Sky to get to a point where I can actually use it. Many features do cost extra but you can pick and choose. Landing page templating is lacking without a dedicated devloper.

Great tool for integration of your marketing campaigns to salesforce
Easy to use, able to integrate with Salesforce, seamlessly gets up and running in no time. Great and active community of support of users helping one another.
The more function and features you want to use, the costlier. Limited functionality on Reports and analytics.

With Marketo you have a Marketing Automation Suite is great to create straight forward lead capturing campaigns but also sophisticated marketing campaigns with dynamic content and multi-dimensional campaigns. It is a full Marketing Platform with a lot of features to save time and crate successful campaigns. It works fine with Salesforce CMR and SAP C4C (Cloud)
Customer Support and Training. Never had such a professional, but also demanding introduction. But they know, why they are doing it. The Platforms possibilities are huge and will provide the success you need to afford it. Almost everything is possible. Each step of a campaign can be adjusted. You can create your own reports at any stage in the campaign. To copy a whole campaign, including landing pages, flows and all e-mails take just a few clicks. But what is really impressive; to adjust the copied campaign to it’s new date, location a.o. it’s another click and you are up and running.
If it is your first Marketing Automation Software, go and hire a consultant. It is hard to get into the system, if this topic is new for you. There are a few decision you have to take (structure) in an early stage that will cause more work if there are wrong or just missed. Also because of its flexibility it is hard to understand and at it first few rather complex than logical. You definitely need do invest time to get it up and running.

It is undoubtedly one of the best marketing automation tool available in the market.
It helps increase marketing operational efficiency from managing marketing lists to engagement campaigns, email marketing, and more. The comprehensive solution enables seamless integration with Salesforce and other prominent CRMs.
Its user interface still looks very old and sometimes the loading speed is too slow.

Marketo is the platform that powers our entire marketing campaigns and performance. It allows us to understand the impact marketing is having on overall bottom line.
It's incredibly robust, so you're able to manage the entiretly of your marketing campaigns within Marketo: audience creation, lead scoring, emails, landing pages, content management, automation and sync to salesforce. Bizible ensures everything a prospect or customer does is tracked in Salesforce so we understand the impact marketing has on revenue.
It's clunky because it's legacy. It's not an easy tool to navigate or manage. It requires coding to build landing pages and their templates aren't great (pro-tip: use Unbounce and connect to Marketo). Because Marketo is so robust, when you build automation and audiences and campaigns, you can get overwhelmed and lost.

I used Marketo briefly because we chose Marketing Cloud at the end of day mainly because MC is more user friendly. Marketo's feature is as powerful as other major email marketing automation tool and its customer support is good.
- Powerful features, anything you expect to be done by a marketing automation tool, Marketo covers it - Decent customer support - Good resource library for beginners - Great reporting feature
- Marketo is not as user intuitive as other tools like Marketing Cloud or HubSpot - The interface needs to be better

Overall Marketo is one stop for all the digital marketing activities, database, and analytics. I simply love it!
Easy to use, One solution for all the marketing leads, nurturing campaigns, pulling different reports, and ROI calculation. Integration with different tools like salesforce etc., makes it even easier for the marketing activities.
Sometimes it gets trickier to create programs and a smart list. Too many filter options might be confusing.

We use Marketo to automate our marketing processes.
Marketo provides many features and integrates with other products including Salesforce. I love the engagement program feature which allows you to create complex programs to guide prospects/customers through a marketing journey.
The UI is outdated. The product is sometimes cumbersome to use.

Marketo enables us to seamlessly communicate with customers and prospects through a variety of marketing campaigns (email, webinar, events, social media, etc.)
Marketo has robust features for developing email marketing campaigns and creating landing pages. It is one of the best marketing automation platforms for small businesses and enterprises, who need sophisticated tools for email campaigns, lead scoring, reporting and analytics. It also integrates with many third party applications like Salesforce.
For new users, some of the set up features are not very intuitive. Therefore, we work with an agency who specializes in Marketo campaigns to help with that.

Marketo is designed to manage all of the content for your business, including email marketing, blog posts, lead gen pages, and more. It is very powerful with our marketing team only using less than half of the available features. Excellent integration with Salesforce allows for tight coordination with sales team.
Poor UI definitely reduces uptake within our company. Basically only the users who have gone through a multi-day on-site training course are able to use Marketo proficiently, and almost no one has been able to learn from google/support docs. While it is powerful, the UI is a problem. Also limited management of social media accounts.

Initial setup is a beast. It was quite a steep learning curve. SEO dashboards lack far behind other competitors. But then again, why would you use Marketo for SEO anyway?

Marketo has a great content management system for figuring out how to write, organize, and prioritize marketing communications to different buckets of customers. It integrates super well with Salesforce as well, so it's been just what our company has needed.
Marketo is a leader, but they are also not inexpensive. It was also cost prohibitive to start up an automation program with them. It caused us to put off the decision to get started for longer than we should have.

We originally started using Eloqua (2 years ago). Unfortunately, we ended up finding out that a few of our use cases weren't supported very well in Eloqua at the time. We then launched both Marketo and Salesforce about a year ago. What we prefer about Marketo is that it is constantly evolving and improving: over the last year they have added a number of additional features that make it even more of an irreplaceable tool for my team. If this app improved reporting latency issues and improved workflow set, I would give it 6 stars!

I use marketo as a consultant and I help and train my clients to get the best out of it. The tool is hard to use as the user interface is difficult to comprehend and take on on your own, but once you've got the proper training, the possibilities that the tool offer are endless! The greatest perk is probably the ability to integrate marketo with almost any other software, which really opens the possibilities and the variety of campaigns we can do as marketers, as well as tracking all our marketing performances.
What I like most is the ability to create any marketing scenario with the freedom that marketo gives us in terms of automation. Also the ability to connect and integrate almost any tool with marketo, as well as the native Marketo-Salesforce CRM synchronisation.
The user interface is quite difficult to take on on our own, and professional training is needed/recommended.

Marketo is a system that has evolved and solves most problems marketers come across.
Marketo is a very powerful marketing automation tool. I've used it at a few different companies for years and feel like there is still so much more it can do. It makes creating and sending emails easy, it tracks lead lifecycle and integrates with salesforce to keep data maintained.
It is hard to use if you don't know your way around. It also does a lot so some companies have it configured much differently.
