Depending on the industry you are in, your experience might be different from mine. The cost of keywords for me is on average during the holidays is high which eats up my daily budget extremely quickly. You will get lots of traffic to your site, however the quality of the traffic is questionable. Looking at the analytics of my site, most people just click the ad and stay for a few seconds and leave. That is money down the drain for somebody that either accidentally clicked an ad when trying to get rid of it or clicking on it for who knows what reason. I usually get enough sales to break even or have a small loss in my ad campaigns. During non holiday time, the cost is much lower (I pay about 60cents per click) so my budget lasts much longer, but still the traffic quality is hit or miss. I called adwords support(which is great) and even doing everything they told me I saw no improvements.

Pros
Largest ad network Provides lots of traffic Excellent customer support

Cons
Low Quality Traffic Expensive

The best ad network for us to create targeted ads, although it keeps getting more and more expensive to run ads. This is mostly due to industry competition, but to keep costs down, it's getting harder and harder.

Pros
The extensive targeting capabilities, variety of ad types, and the display network gets our brand more visibility than any other platform.

Cons
There is almost too many features to fully understand and master in order to get maximum value.

Pros
Adwords is the mostly used ppc advertising channel to reach your audience. Lots of features to optimize your campaigns, lots to learn. If you consider doing ppc marketing, it's a must have.

Cons
Too complicated. Auctions and bid pricing is not transparent. Your success depends on a variety of factors (SEO, keywords, ad copies, rankings, bid prices, budget, market, target audience etc etc)

It's a good tool, if you know what you are doing. It is not for any type of user even if access is for everyone

Pros
I like it especially because it is an advertising tool that everyone can use. It allows you to create customized advertising campaigns, where you choose the words that interest you, the maximum amount of money you want to invest. It allows you to pause advertising campaigns and also organize campaigns by sectors, whether it's location or different target sectors.

Cons
It is not an intuitive tool, you need prior knowledge of marketing or basic advertising so you can use the tool correctly and achieve your goals well. A person without knowledge of what he does will cost you more. I also think that the prices are quite high.

There's no getting around paid search traffic

Used weekly for 2+ years

Review Source: GetApp

Pros
If you're trying to market your product or service to people in the market for that offering, there's really no better (or cheaper) way to specifically target those buyers than Google's Adwords program. We work hard to get organic search listings, but particularly for high traffic, competitive terms, bidding on PPC ads in the SERPs is a great strategy. Adwords lets you do keyword research, scope out the competition, and control your bid/spend in multiple ways. It's simple text and the best part is you only pay for clicks that come to your website.

Cons
Adwords has been changing the interface a lot lately. It's often difficult to get from Express to the full suite, and the constantly changing google app ecosystem means you can almost never find your way around. Sometimes they deny an ad, they also raise your CPC if they don't like the quality of the page you land traffic on, so there's some unfortunate road blocks where they try to control the entire internet, but otherwise it's a very cheap form of advertising and lead acquisition.

Pros
Very clearly tells us how well campaigns are doing, how much feedback / interaction we are getting, and whether or not it was profitable. Like Google's other products, the interface is clean and crisp, working well on both desktop and mobile devices. Brilliant use of keywords and target audience (providing you know who that is!) allowing easy promotion of your site / event via user searches.

Cons
Though the user interface looks very pretty, its rather hard to use, especially for new users and even for experienced ones. (At least thats my opinion). Unless you are experienced in Digital marketing, or at least a basic understanding, using Google AdWords will be a struggle, especially to use effectively. The pricing is rather steep also, for us, targeting very large numbers of customers its fine, but for smaller organizations it may not be so cost effective.

AdWords has helped me affordably attract new clients

Used monthly for 1-2 years
Reviewed 2018-02-17
Review Source: GetApp

Pros
I use AdWords on a local level (local meaning a handful of zip codes across two counties) and it has helped me raise awareness for my brand and services as well as attract new clients. Local does the same but takes more time and effort whereas AdWords gives me a much faster turnaround time. I like that I can set budgets and monitor campaigns in real-time so I know if my campaigns are cost-effective. I feel that I have 100% control over my campaign design and budgeting so I am not concerned of spending too much. If after a certain threshold, new customer acquisition is still too low, then I know to either stop the campaign temporarily or to more likely investigate why and modify my keywords or ad messages.

Cons
To run an effective local campaign, it is critical to know your target audience but even more critical to conduct elaborate keyword research. This can be very time consuming, even tedious and repetitive at times. However, this is the time investment necessary to ensure you have quality campaigns that will actually be profitable. If you do not have a background in PPC advertising or general knowledge in digital marketing, AdWords is not simple to dive right in (or at least not simple to do it right). Take the time to do ample research and even consider the training and certification offered by Google. I felt this was more fit for someone whose line of work is PPC as opposed to running your own ads for your business so I have not completed these. I am certain they would be exponentially beneficial to anyone, but I feel confident my keyword research and message design was enough to at least turn profits from the time and money spent using AdWords.
