Their pricing algorithm (which is essentially the entirety of their service) proved to be poor for our properties. They priced us either obscenely high or way too low.

Good for Basic Usage

It's great for simple sends, simple analytics but horrible for more complex stuff.

Pros

Basic capabilities are decent. Anything beyond that is a pain to figure out/manipulate.

Cons

Not up to current email marketing standards; not user friendly at all; too expensive for what it does.

Not a platform with a lot of features, but gets the job done

Pros

The basic metrics given are helpful, reporting is basic but useful. The plugin directly to Salesforce really helps create a unified process that makes it very easy to send rather than having to login into multiple platforms to send.

Cons

I feel like they could go above and beyond with functionality for even basic ESP and from my experience with it they haven't

Old Format is Great

Overall, iContact has really helped me to expand my practice by being able to send regular monthly newsletters to my clients. Customer service is generally excellent, although I have gotten a few people from time to time that have been less helpful. If you get the right person, they will go above and beyond to not only resolve the issue, but to educate you on related technical matters that "teach me to fish."

Pros

The old format (which you can still access) is very user friendly, with ability to cut and paste and upload photos. Anyone with basic word skills would be able to utilize this program. The newer format I'm not much of a fan of, however. Luckily I can still copy and modify the older templates, and the customer service is quite helpful.

Cons

The newer format seems super confusing to me. I've tried a few times, but it's too big a jump in my skill set for me to make much use of.

I've used iContact for years. It's the best value for the money & the customer service is fantastic.

It keeps us in touch with our clients with ease and for a good price.

Pros

The customer service. It is always excellent and they go above and beyond to help. Day/Evening whatever, I've gotten great service. I use them for my employer for over 5 years, but I was also volunteering for a small non-profit group that had a tiny budget. Their salesperson was fantastic setting us up with what we needed for little money, and thinking about what we might need for the future. I was really impressed. When I have had questions or the rare problem they helped right away, either on chat or the phone.

Cons

Perhaps they might not be as fancy as other companies, but redesigning our newsletters isn't something we do often, so we might not be taking advantage of all the new stuff they have put in place.

Efficient and Excellent Price Point

It's been good and I have been going back and forth between MailChimp. I do prefer iContact for the pricing but the template creation could bump up it's game a little bit.

Pros

I think adding in contacts, whether it be one or several, is very easy. I love that it weeds out the duplicates for me, especially with the system I have to copy and paste the contact info from.

Cons

The software doesn't work right in Google Chrome which is slightly inconvenient since I work out of Chrome 99% of the day. I have to use Microsoft Edge to use the software correctly. And the templates, while nice they can be strict and unforgiving. The spacing in between Enter's is a little large and out of control too. And the issue with not posting a picture to the Facebook anymore is beyond annoying. I have to take the archived URL and then put that into Facebook and then I can input a picture. It was better when they made it look like an article on Facebook.

A great platform to engage with customers and plays a key role in any marketing strategy

Pros

The software has come a long way from its earlier stages. The editor is VERY user friendly, but of course has its quirks just like any email software. iContact has worked the best for us, and given us the ability to create an email marketing strategy that is fine tuned to our audience and what they respond to. There is a lot of flexibility and functions that make this product easily tailored to your specific needs as a brand or business. One of our favorite things though, is the support team and specifically our own specialist that has an answer for every problem. He has gone above and beyond to make our experience as smooth and effective as possible.

Cons

As we mentioned, there are quirks with any email software. In particular there are some design/layout functionalities in the new editor that sometimes don't line up just right - or at least don't give us the full access to configure the email certain ways. But we always find an alternative way to make it work.
