We like MailChimp! It connects with SquareSpace and is easy to use. Wish there were more design options.

Easiest to Use

2019-02-14

I use both MailChimp and Constant Contact. While I would rate Constant Contact a little higher, MailChimp is best for those who want a simple solution for email marketing.

Pros

MailChimp is easy to use, navigate inside the software, maintain lists and send out campaigns. It also integrates with other software such as Shopify

Cons

Sometimes the edit photos doesn't work well. Wish it had more templates, but they are easy to modify.

I have a small business and like to be able to reach out to members to let them know about specials..etc.. Mail chimp does it all.. and very pro looking mailers.. A++++

Pros

It does everything, it auto adds sign up forms on and 'forms' you already have on your site.. and can be added to check out pages..etc.. also can make landing pages for people to sign up to...

Cons

Its a little confusing at first.. coming from constant contact...

Mailchimp is a user-friendly e-marketing tool

2018-06-14

I recently switched to Mailchimp and I find it more user-friendly.

Pros

More customization options than Constant Contact 3.

Cons

1. The free version only allows you to send to 2,000 email addresses within a 24 hour period. 2. You cannot send an email to multiple lists at once--each list must be scheduled separately. 3. There are less analytics available in Mailchimp.

Emailing software with good reporting and features

2018-04-01

Pros

Cheaper than Constant Contact, with good reporting on audience demographics and engagement with your emails.

Cons

Trying too hard to be accessible, which ends up making it more strict. Automated messaging is lacking in some versions of the product, and there isn't enough advice on how to improve.

Great free solution for small groups

2019-02-10

Pros

It's a great communication tool with a lot of integrations, such as Google analytics, and social media platforms. The free package enables users to send emails to 2K users and less, so it's a great solution if your clientele list is within that range.

Cons

I found that the pricing for the paid plan was less competitive than other solutions (e.g. Constant Contact).

Mailchimp Review

2018-10-16

Good experience!

Pros

I like how it is very user friendly for beginners. I also like the free initial account. When I first started using it, I had just started my business and the free account was a nice perk. I used mailchimp for an additional 6 years once my free account turned into a paid account.

Cons

I feel like competitors like Constant Contact and Emma are making strides to be innovative and Mailchimp has stayed behind.

Great tool for small to medium sized businesses

2018-08-15

MailChimp is a great product for small to medium sized businesses. We design all of our emails in Dreamweaver and copy the code over to MailChimp. This works well since we work with multiple territories and price levels all receiving different promotions. We have had positive experiences with customer support although there have been a couple times when the support person gave us incorrect information. The reporting is a great tool and has helped us analyze our email campaigns.

Pros

We switched from Constant Contact to MailChimp about 6 months ago and I am very happy with the change.

Cons

It didn't give me the flexibility I wanted and we had to reactivate our Constant Contact account to send out our annual customer surveys.

A decent platform

2019-02-03

Overall, it's a great first service to get used to how e-newsletters and other mailing capabilities work but there are definitely better options out there.

Pros

I do enjoy how easy it is to use as a mailing service. It doesn't take much technical skills to understand the features and capabilities that are available. It's great for small business owners who don't have the capital to hire outside help.

Cons

I dislike how simplistic the layouts can be compared to Constant Contact. The text and overall design is very limited when you compare the two.

2018-05-14

Pros

Best Small Business Customer Nurturing Solution

2018-09-06

I've used Constant Contact and MailChimp is much better at creating segments.

Pros

We like this solution because it so easily integrates with our website development like WordPress. When a lead comes into one of our clients we add it to a MailChimp list for a drip campaign.

Cons

Although the list of contacts is flexible, it would be great to have a little more CRM features.

Flawless design abilities but list management could be improved

2019-02-22

Mailchimp is a great way to market your business/company for a relatively low cost (free even if under a certain amount of contacts - can't say the same for Constant Contact).

Pros

I think the design capabilities are probably the nicest and easiest to use feature, having switched from using Constant Contact previously.

Cons

I don't like that Mailchimp counts the same contact on two separate lists twice. So if you only have 500 contacts, but need them on two separate lists (not segments), that's 1,000 contacts in their eyes. It's still the same email address so I don't know why they count it twice. It's frustrating when the easiest way to update our lists are to delete them and reupload them, but Mailchimp makes it hard.

Not Worth the Money

2018-06-01

It's "fair" as a newsletter solution but Mailchimp is far better.

Pros

Nice looking layouts but not enough of them. There are not really enough choices to avoid customizing them further.

Cons

The cost. Why do we have to pay for this if I only have a small list? I also dislike how difficult it is to get the layouts to look really nice if you try to alter them in any way.

Email Marketing for Pros

This is the email marketing tool you use when you're ready to upgrade from MailChimp.

Pros

Constant Contact has all the features you would need in email marketing. Most importantly, to me, are its integrations that make e-commerce easier to manage.

Good Tool for Email Marketing

2018-05-07

Pros

A great alternative to Mailchimp. Has roughly the same amount of features and is just as easy to set up and use.

Cons

As with most heavily-feature packed software, it's easy to get lost and things can get a little clunky to use (template editing, segmenting, etc)

Decent choice for email marketing, a bit more expensive

2018-10-23

Constant Contact seems to be dying out in favor of other email campaign providers such as Mailchimp. They are a bit pushy when you are on a trial in getting you to sign up.

Pros

You receive a dedicated support agent for any questions you might have.

Cons

The UI is outdated, and the template builder lacks basic functionality such as paragraph line height and padding. If you want a robust template you must use the custom template builder, and even then some things such as link colors are not supported.

Constant Contact for small nonprofits vs MailChimp

2017-03-14

My nonprofit was previously using Constant Contact for our email marketing before switching to MailChimp. We were paying $/month and had between 1,000 and 2,000 subscribers.

Pros

It was very easy to add subscribers to a certain list or add tags to them.

Cons

We were paying $/month, which meant a limit of 5 images that could be stored. MailChimp probably has a limit for free accounts, but we haven't reached it yet and definitely have more than 100 images.

Recommendations to others considering Constant Contact

Definitely don't go this route if you're a small organization and have less than 2,000 subscribers. I vote for MailChimp, hands-down.

Top Tier When it Comes to Mailing List Management

2019-02-28

I usually recommend MailChimp to my clients, but Constant Contact might come in second.

Pros

Some mailing list services can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Constant Contact is clean and organized. It sections its features in easy to understand tabs that don't use a lot of insider and cute lingo. It's very intuitive how to start a new campaign, manage your subscribers, view reports, and create opt-in forms. It also integrates well with some of the more popular services like FB, Office 365, WordPress, and Salesforce.

Cons

It's not as visual and clean as MailChimp.

I've used Constant Contact to send custom emails

2018-05-21

Pros

Great ease of use, anybody can make the emails look designed. Nice range of templates to choose from.

Cons

Not as extensive as MailChimp. Edibility needs a major overhall.
