Pros

I've had a very positive experience. The help desk was able to respond to some of my questions pretty quickly, I like the functionality and my emails look good.
Mailchimp is very great software. I like how it's easy to interface, and how you can clean the data.
I like how Mailchimp keeps track of my audience and helps me categorize them for different types of emails. I also like being able to create appealing and interactive emails for my viewers.

Pros

The seamless process of managing the events, seminars or webinars, is truly amazing and super quick. It manages to remove the hassles from the POV of the admin.
I love how easy it is to search for events, how easy it is to RSVP, and how everything is visible in your account (and is also sent to your email for extra ease).
What I like most about the Eventbrite platform is how user friendly it is to create the events and the ease for those purchasing to make their purchase.

Cons

I have had instances where the emails sometimes end up in the spam folder or promotions folder, which can be annoying and needs to be figured out.
Mailchimp is used by many which means that spam filters are more likely to tag your emails as spam. I did not have any other problems with Mailchimp.
For a company that's been around as long as Mailchimp has, it's crazy to me how bad the UX/UI is. It's just hard to use so much of the time.

Cons

The event management UI was slow and awkward to use. I did have a couple of periods of site outage that caused me some pain.
The worst part is they froze our payouts without telling us, until one day we noticed the lack of deposits and logged into Eventbrite to find it.
The lack of customer service during the pandemic was frustrating. Also, the percentage Eventbrite takes for ticketed events is higher than other companies.

Pros

What I liked most was the integration ability with both EventBrite, and SurveyGizmo.

Cons

What I like least is how MailChimp breaks down and presents their pricing.

My favorite email client

Reviewed 4 years ago

MailChimp is great for list management, email marketing and segmenting your messages to various audiences. A comprehensive email communications platform.

Pros

Easy list management capability; great integration with other apps and software (Salesforce, Eventbrite, etc.); helpful analytics; intuitive WYSIWYG design structure

Cons

Very little; this is my favorite of all the similar email clients (ConstantContact, Mad Mimi, etc.)

MailChimp is Easy to Learn to use

Reviewed 5 years ago

All in all it is a great product for marketing purposes. We use it to advertise our events linked to Eventbrite and for our monthly newsletter.

Pros

It is an easy product for someone who doesn't have a graphic design background to use and finesse out for their particular needs. The ability to import and export lists is good. The templates on display are great.

Cons

Not necessarily MailChimps fault but the new privacy laws make it difficult to import large lists. Have to work around that one. Could do with a few more nice fonts to choose from.

Gets the Job Done

Reviewed 2 years ago

It serves its purpose of creating email campaigns and I enjoy the data they track. It could be more user friendly, otherwise it may lose some customers to salesforce or hubspot who have many more capabilities.

Pros

Good email building, easy to maintain the brand and reuse templates. I like the integration capabilities, we integrate with eventbrite and use it to follow up with event attendees!

Cons

the templates can be finicky to set up, which is all the more reason why once I get a template set up I make sure it is something I can use over and over again.

Bombarded with emails in database

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall it has allowed us to clean up lists and run impactful campaigns. Perfect for our intended use.

Pros

Mailchimp easily integrates with a lot of 3rd party apps that we use daily such as Facebook, SalesForce, and Eventbrite. This allows us to cross-collaborate within units using different software for varied purposes.

Cons

I am BIG on customer service and MailChimp gets a failing grade in this area. With the amount of users that they have and the nature of their business, they should invest more into their support services. A lot of the campaigns we run are time sensitive and if we experience a hiccup a quicker response makes a great impact.

Marketing our product just got so much simpler!

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

The absolute standout feature has to be its integration with other CRM platforms like Salesforce, Eventbrite and Shopify. The pricing is very friendly for users of different scale with it even having a free tier!

Cons

Some clients say that they don't receive marketing and promo mails because they have been blocked by GMail's spam filter.

Well integrated platform, the designer for emails is really dated.

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

I love the ability to have multiple lists, A/B testing, the integrations with other platforms (eventbrite, CoSchedule to name a few). The interface (for the most part) is intuitive. Great templates for campaigns.

Cons

The user interface for editing text really stinks. It's horrible, just horrible. It feels like it's been out of place for about 15 years and needs a serious reboot.

Great marketing system for mail and other functions

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

MailChimp integrates with a lot of other software, such as wordpress, eventbrite, and salesforce, which makes it easier to use within your already existing setup. It's become one of the standards in marketing and email management.

Cons

Initial setup to make it look the way you want can take a little while.

Great software just a bit expensive

Reviewed 3 years ago

I like using mail chimp overall. If they made their prices more competitive I would switch back to them again.

Pros

This software is great and extremely user friendly to use. They have Pre made layouts that make using this extremely easy.

Cons

The price of the software would be the biggest con! If they could bring the price point down I would use this software again only. I currently only use them for the free trial with Eventbrite.

Ok but lacking in support for integration

Reviewed 2 years ago

It is fine. I just find it difficult to get the support I need when I need it. I went through multiple channels to ask questions and still ended up having to find a third party solution.

Pros

Mailchimp is easy to use. My org that I'm on the board for uses mailchimp sometimes daily and it is easy enough to format content and get it out consistently.

Cons

Integrations. It is tough to set up integrations between salesforce, eventbrite and mailchimp. You would think that since none of these products offer a full solution they would offer the customer support to set up these integrations but they do not.

Easy to use

Reviewed 4 years ago

We use MailChimp for sending out invitations for monthly community events. We've set up a few templates, but we mostly always use the same one. We regularly import our list of participants from Eventbrite and the whole thing is mostly low maintenance!

Pros

It's the most easy to use software I know. There is virtually no learning curve, just jump right in and start creating emails. The email editor works with drag and drop and there's pretty much every widget you need to create beautiful mailings. You can save templates and reuse them, and you can also create a new campaign based on a previous campaign so it's really easy to resend an email. You can also schedule to send at a later date, which is really convenient when you are working off hours!

Cons

Honestly, there isn't much I don't like about MailChimp. It's got all I need and it's free!

Gets The Job Done; Great Customer Support

Reviewed 4 years ago

We utilize MailChimp for all of our internal and external email communications. It's easy to use and gets the job done without any frills. Even if our company upgrades to a more robust platform for external communications, we'll likely stick with MailChimp for internal emails. I'd recommend it for this use, and for small to mid-size companies looking for a simple solution.

Pros

MailChimp is incredibly easy to use. Even if you have minimal design experience, no coding experience, etc., it's very simple to design a great looking email. MailChimp also has excellent customer service - when I've run into issues or questions, their chat feature is quick and very helpful!

Cons

MailChimp has limited functionalities. I'd love to see dynamic sender capabilities and dynamic content capabilities. There's a little more heavy lifting on the user end in order to accomplish things that other email platforms provide. Integrations with CRMs, social media, Eventbrite, etc are limited, as well.

A multi-purpose marketing tool that goes far beyond emails

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Mailchimp makes it easy to create email marketing campaigns. Not only that, but there are a lot of other features you can use such as Facebook & Instagram marketing, remarketing, and even postcards. There are a lot of integrations as well so you can connect Eventbrite, Salesforce, Shopify, Square, WooCommerce & more! If you're just starting out they have a basic free plan that you can use to start out with. They have a lot of templates too which you can use to easily create email campaigns. I use their iPad app to subscribe new people and automatically add them to certain email groups.

Cons

My only wish was that Mailchimp integrated with our ERP software (Macola).

Integrated and easy to use

Easy to use, profitable and seamless software - integrating with Mailchimp and other.

Pros

Eventbrite allowed me to seamlessly and flawlessly run my event. With features I didn't even know I needed and help articles galore, it was easy to use and helped me to solve all my issues. The customer end was simple, and the in built eventbrite payment processing had minimal fees, allowing profits to be maximised.

Cons

Customer support via instant chat/messaging couldve been an improvement to help solve any issues. The starting off guide also was outdated which was annoying.

Straightforward event management system

Great for promoting events, controlling who attends (online) and simple follow-ups through mailchimp.

Pros

Quick and easy to set-up an event, paid or free, manage ticket prices, discount codes, and promote through partner codes. Integration with zoom and mailchimp makes it easy to control logins and follow-up comms

Cons

multi event (series) is a little clunky, and zoom integration for repeat sessions not possible. High transaction charges compared with other ticketing sites, but then you pay for the one stop shop

Great tool for event ticketing

Reviewed 3 years ago

It is a good tool, particularly for free events, or when the scale of the event makes it worth investing the time and money in creating an Eventbrite event.

Pros

I like the flexibility with ticketing particularly, and the ability to sync with other apps, e.g. Mailchimp.

Cons

It's a little bit pricey. Also, as organiser, when getting confirmation emails, I ended up get a calendar item for each attendee - a little bit annoying until I worked out how to stop this...

Eventbrite

a very efficient way of finding, scheduling and tracking events

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

- used it to organise an industry event recently. The whole process was very smooth and the platform is very intuitive - integration with mailchimp was vital

Cons

- did not get much use out of the analytics module. used our own internal system as we found eventbrite's analytics to be minimal

So good!

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Eventbrite is a free/low cost solution to event promotion and management. It has a ton of great features like Facebook event integration and mailchimp integration that are easy to use.

Cons

Tough one... I have had such a good experience using Eventbrite. Perhaps the only negative is that when integrating with a free Facebook event there is no way to change the name of the button from "Purchase Tickets" which created confusion. I wish we could have used RSVP or something similar.

A great platform for organizing and managing an event!

Reviewed 4 years ago

It is a great tool for organizing events and finding nearby events for an individual and an organization.

Pros

- Events can be organized in a matter of minutes. - Fully integrated with third party apps such as SurveyMonkey and MailChimp - The interface is intuitive and the platform itself is very easy to use.

Cons

- The customer service is not good. It takes days to get an initial response on the email. 99% of the phone calls are routed to Voicemail!.

Best event scheduling product out there!

Reviewed 9 months ago

I use a class booking software for the classes that I teach, but unfortunately the functionality of that system for events that are free and also private (available only by direct link) isn't ideal. Eventbrite makes it much easier to register my attendees for our non-paid events.

Pros

My favorite feature of Eventbrite is how user friendly it is. Any time I use it, whether I'm hosting an event or attending one, I find it so clean and simple. I also love that it sends reminders for upcoming events without a hitch.

Cons

I honestly have no complaints! I have had a great experience with it so far. I'm not sure yet if it integrates with programs like Mailchimp, but if it doesn't, that would be important to me for the future.

Eventbrite

Great functionality, amazing when listing free events, fees are a bit expensive for paid events

Reviewed 4 years ago

I organise a lot of professional networking events, some are free and some are paid for. Eventbrite offers me all the functionality I need to organise my event. I used Picatic until Eventbrite recently acquired Picatic. However, customer support from Eventbrite is very difficult, if not existent. So if you have a question not answered by the standard FAQ, such as, "Since Eventbrite acquired Picatic, how I can access my previous/ currently live events"?, the only way I could find customer support was by tweeting Eventbrite. So, Eventbrite is great if you can self-service and publish free events, but once you have quirky questions, be prepared that it will be difficult to establish contact to a human person who can answer.

Pros

Eventbrite has lots of functionality that you will need when organising and managing an event. It is very easy to use, plus it can integrate with other apps such as Mailchimp which comes in handy when broadcasting an event and Surveymonkey which comes in handy to send out feedback forms post an event. The back office functionality is great too -- you can email invitations directly without using Mailchimp if you wanted to. For users, it's easy and simple to register, plus Eventbrite offers a secure online payment option which is hassle free for both organiser and attendee.

Cons

2 things that I like the least about Eventbrite are: 1) Non-existent customer service. One of the reasons why I used Picatic (which they have now bought!) was due to their great customer service. You can chat with a real person who can help you with some of the questions which are not answered in their FAQs. 2) They're great if you have a free event, but if you have a paid event, their transaction fees are one of the highest in the market.

Easiest Event/Ticket Management Program

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, Eventbrite is our go-to for managing and tracking our upcoming events. While it may not always be the most cost-efficient option, it's by far the easiest to use - which makes the small pricing difference worth it.

Pros

Eventbrite makes planning and managing our corporate events incredibly easy. The options to create different types of tickets, different availability and waitlists make it simple for us to see what we need to push and promote - as well as reach back out to attendees and waitlisters. I also love how easy it connects to social media platforms.

Cons

The fee per ticket purchased is a little more expensive than other ticket management programs. Other programs have flat fees that make more sense for some of our events. Additionally, I also would like to see more development in the MailChimp integration.

Excellent Platform

Reviewed 4 years ago

I have been using EventBrite for over 7 years and love its ability to sell tickets to events for my companies and organizations.

Pros

EventBrite is user-friendly. Easy to set up events and link them to your website. I Love the new Facebook Addin which allows your guests to buy tickets right from the Facebook event without having to be connected to another landing page or external site.

Cons

EventBrite is limited in the marketing aspect. It is great that you can sell tickets on this platform and they have made leaps and bounds with integration for Facebook and MailChimp but if you are looking for a one-stop shop, this may not be for you.

Eventbrite - simple to use and effective

Reviewed 5 years ago

Generally once you get set up with this platform it will make your event management breezy.

Pros

I like the payment options for our organisation. We no longer have to handle cash or cards at our events. The payouts and reports is excellent.

Cons

The templates are not as creative or flexible as some other platforms. I would like a few more options on the template side for emails and then Ii may use the product for more of our marketing pieces. At the moment we couple Eventbrite for ticketing with Mailchimp for marketing.

Couldn't do my job without Eventbrite

Reviewed 4 years ago

I couldn't do my job without Eventbrite. The easiest way to sell tickets to your events, fundraisers, galas, etc.

Pros

Eventbrite is amazing for event planners or anyone who ever hosts a gathering, event or activity. It's super easy to set up, integrates with Facebook, has its own email feature (or connects with MailChimp, etc.) You can create coupon codes, password-protected events, free events, etc. There's an app to help with check-in or on-site purpose. It's really the best all-in-one ticketing software.

Cons

If you're running a super specialized event or event series, this may not be the best option for you. For example, we run a Theatre Festival with multiple performances a night for one week. We used Eventbrite for the first year, but have since switched to a specific theatre ticketing platform. Eventbrite is great for general use but may not fit every planner's need.

Eventbrite

Perfect for managing events

Reviewed 4 years ago

We use Eventbrite to organize free monthly conferences and create Eventbrite events to invite our members and manage attendees.

Pros

Eventbrite is free to use when you are organizing free events. This allows us to manage all our events without costs, therefore allowing us to offer free events. The interface is very easy to use and all the features are available in the free version. It also integrates well with Facebook and MailChimp so that I can create the event at one place and update everywhere else at the same time.

Cons

There isn't much I don't like about Eventbrite. One small irritant is that I can't seem to find a nice summary of all orders - when asking for the orders report, the information is presented in a detailed way.
