Creating easy layouts that can be duplicated for daily sends. Great to build a list out, but then you reach a glass ceiling.
Easy to set-up and get going for those new to email marketing. They have preset templates to use that are easy to manipulate. You can see detailed analytics of how your campaign went. List segmenting is also a breeze. Integrates into a variety of other software and even has an easy app to take email sign-ups to events.
Integration with ecommerce can be a bit tricky to track the conversions of email sales in MailChimp. Once your company reaches a certain size, you may need to upgrade to a more complex and dynamic software such as Bronto or HubSpot.

Overall, I couldn't imagine a better tool for our business (small-to-midsized). Whether we're sending drip campaign emails, payment reminders, mass email marketing, or simple survey emails, this is our tool of choice, bar none. I can't recommend MailChimp's suite of tools enough.
MailChimp has literally become our hub for ABM. It's extremely intuitive, and the integrations suite is so deep, that it has both the company I work for and my personal business covered. Their templates make it easy to get started if you don't have a plan already. Their segmentation tools are truly next level, and the reporting is the best at this price point (at least compared to Marketo and Hubspot).
They are very picky about leads that you use through their software, so make sure that you have done email validation on your data set before you run it through their platform, or they will ding you for it.

Wouldn't recommend a different software like Hubspot over this one!
I have used many different marketing campaign tools during implementations and nobody has a better tool for easy set up and teaching. Very good for young businesses.
I haven't found many things this software can't do when it comes to segmentation of leads and customer data.

Very very disapointing, I would never use mailchimp now that I found hubspot, I think Hubspot is user friendly and shows you where to go to learn to use the interface.
It promised a lot, however as a kinethetic person I couldnt evaluate the program within the trial and see if I was getting any results, not even in sending a message, so I ditched the whole idea of Mailchimping my email.
Couldnt send out emails on free trial to see if I liked it.

I used this software several years ago but at the time it had a limited scope. Since that time they have made vast improvements and it's amazing how much more you can do with it now. It also integrates with my website, Shopify which is fantastic!
Like all software programs, it does have a learning curve, but is very intuitive. I wish it had an integration with Hub Spot CRM.

We had a hard time using Mailchimp due to our industry. They restricted a lot of content for CBD.
Full marketing hub which is really convenient. Flexible pricing. Allows merchants to easily create campaigns. Its very user friendly.
Way too restrictive for my industry. Lackluster email templates. We found that the email creation aspect could be more attractive.

Our company used to use mailchimp for a long time so we're used to their system. Easy to use.
Not the most delicate program out there. Other programs like Hubspot and SecondStreet might be better.

Our multimillion dollar company utilizes this software to track email campgains success. In both a B2B and B2C format. We then integrate it with Hubspot.

One of the best things about Mailchimp is the free pricing tier. No one else lets you use so many features of their platform to start your business' email marketing for free!
Mailchimp has become a robust marketing hub after the recent changes and I love the templates and customizations that are possible now.
Since they've updated and added so much more, I have no issues with the software. If anything, I feel it has become my new favorite.

My overall experience with Mailchimp was a positive one. It worked well with our CRM, and was well supported by their sales and service teams. We used Mailchimp to drive email marketing efforts and, in turn, drive inbound leads and software demo requests. It was incredibly successful, as the company has continued to grow throughout our time of using mailchimp. Additionally, we saw an increase in inbound leads each month over the first 12 months of using Mailchimp. While the send and contact restriction did cause some frustration and delays, the overall experience was quite positive. I would recommend Mailchimp to other companies.
What I liked most about Mailchimp was it's ease of use (for our applications) and the company's customer service. It was very easy to use Mailchimp in conjunction with our CRM, HubSpot to help our email marketing efforts. We would sort, export, and download targeted lists of customers from HubSpot and upload those lists to Mailchimp. This process was incredibly easy and allowed us to be more efficient and timely with our email marketing campaigns. Additionally, any time we had any questions or issues about Mailchimp, their customer service and sales teams were always incredibly helpful and quick to respond.
What I liked least about this software was the pricing plan restrictions. My software company had a very, very large customer and prospect base. We targeted many different markets with a large number of people within each organization. Our software could be used by entire companies, so reaching out to many different decision makers or users was an effective marketing strategy. However, the pricing...

I've been using Mailchimp sincce a couple of months. I've subsribed for the free plan to become fully aware of the benefits of this tool. I like it much because it helps me in b2b lead generation: I run massive email campaigns and then monitor the open rate chart to follow the engagement via telephone.
Easy to use, effective
It does not fit when you have to send transational emails. You can solve this point adopting the free version of hubspot.

Very good. This is an excellent tool for business that aren't ready to go big time with Hubspot or Pardot.
Mail Chimp is pretty easy to get started with for all the basic features. I like the list segmentation and management. The templates are "good enough" for most small business needs and can get the whole process running pretty quickly. If your CRM doesn't do email marketing, Mail Chimp is a good option.
Even though I said it's pretty easy to get started, I'm going to contradict myself and say it can also be difficult at various steps along the way. First, you should watch a few explainer videos to make sure you set things up properly. It really will make your life easier. If you set it up wrong in the beginning, it'll be a pain to get to where you want it to be. Then, at some point you're going to decide you'd like to have something different than their templates and find out that the system for custom templates can be a bear. I think most of the difficulties come form some strange UI quirks that can make it hard to get at first.

Overall great platform for carrying out email campaigns
Easily set up and customize email templates for campaigns without hard coding. Segment lists, set up data collection forms, and customize simultaneous social posts, etc.
With lots of steps, quickly setting up and sending an email can take longer than expected. Lack of automation features similar to Hubspot

It was good. We primarily used it for the email marketing features though. There is more to discover.
Mailchimp has made great strides in offering other services than email marketing. I like the landing pages you can create as well as the social ads.
It reminds me now of HubSpot. We actually switched from MC to HS because of the functionality but MC is making good progress.

It does the job for a reasonable price. Unless you want to automate more things, it works very well.
Allows for email sequences and automation. It’s a step down from Hubspot, Salesforce, and Ontraport. It’s a step up from iContacts or similar software.
I tried to teach an older user how to use it, but they found it too complicated. It’s a good UX test to see if an older person finds it intuitive.

Mailchimp has been a staple in our newsletter distribution process and we will continue using its great interface for the foreseeable future!
Great interface. For me this is the best way to distribute a newsletter. I've tried built-in solutions in Hubspot but having a standalone platform that is designed for this purpose has been infinitely easier to navigate.
No Hubspot integration except through zapier which is kind of annoying. Not the biggest downer in the world but I would love native integration.

Mailchimp provides a great quick and easy platform for clients with little to no email marketing experience to get on and start communicating with their audience.
Easy to use UX Ability to build sharp looking HTML emails with little to no coding experience Easy bulk contact uploading Simple but accurate interaction tracking
Their email builder could use some updating with new module types and capabilities Interaction tracking is not as sophisticated as a platform like Hubspot

Having tested most email marketing tools, this is by far the easiest and best to use. It blows HubSpot out of the water!
Easy to use, competitive pricing, transparency, and helpful reporting. This is the email tool I always recommend!
I wish there were more, updated templates. Also, it would be great to get help when cleaning up mailing lists.

When doing an independent project, I always use Mailchimp to get a small business online. I recommend it to any and all small businesses.
Mailchimp is incredibly easy to use. Its easy to get started using the software with the UI requiring no work to understand. Also, with a great free plan with a solid contact limit, its the best option for small businesses just getting started.
Mailchimp, although working on this, isn't as full-throated a solution as HubSpot or Salesforce. This is mostly because it is aimed at a different market segment.

Great for use with our smaller marketing needs where we don't necessarily want to mix contacts with our HubSpot account and pay for more instances.
Great email marketing tool for smaller needs or those just getting started and not sure what exactly they want or need. Easy to create lists, segments, emails campaigns and more.
Limited in terms of logic and smart segmenting, but that's to be accepted with the free version. You can upgrade to have access to more features though.

Like the dealing of the mailout campaigns to date. Tried other methods but return to Mailchimp for ease of use.
It links to our hubspot marketing structure and really enhances our inbound marketing strategies. Easy to set up, track and action. Cant see why people would not use Mailchimp
At this stage it seems pretty intuitive. The design templates could be a bit more pro active for us non-designers.

Mailchimp has always been complex, the latest UI revision has dealt with a lot of what was confusing. Things are named more sensibly now. Reports let you see how your emails are doing - I've no need for complex goals and the defaults are more than enough for most small mailing lists. Sharing across the team is easy but not everyone gets the audience functionality so most emails are sent as copes of previous campaigns. The free tier is more than enough for most of my clients.
Easy sharing with colleagues Simple email editing tool Sign up forms on phone and websites are easy to use
Editor regularly messes up text formatting (Understandable) focus on sales makes things more complex than they need to be if sales aren't your objective. Groups, lists, subscribers, tags - it's difficult to track who is who

I use MailChimp for sales e-mail campaigns, it allows me to see how many people are actually interested and opened the emails and who was not interested at all, it is very useful information when it comes to sales.
MailChimp is very easy-to-use platform. I like that MailChimp is not very expensive and still very useful. E-mails tracking feature is great
Nothing specific. May be adding more sales features to the product would be helpful.

I love Mailchimp - I recommend it to every client and have recently become a Mailchimp Partner.
I've used Mailchimp for a long time, and more recently started to make the most of the automation tools. It's when I realised how powerful Mailchimp is... and that it is a lot more than just an email newsletter tool.
Compared to other automation tools, such as Hubspot, it isn't yet as powerful but it can do a lot of fairly simple automation that you would need for smaller businesses.

The thing I like most about HubSpot is that everything is in one easy-to-use platform. Making connections with our marketing data is a lot easier now, because we can see everything a prospect has done, whether they visited a Web page, opened an email campaign or filled out a form.
I cannot take my own HTML and drop it straight into the email builder. HubSpot makes you use their templates, which in my opinion, aren't very sexy. You can purchase pre-built email templates, but you still have to customize them from a branding perspective. And to do that, it's extremely helpful to know HTML. I've used many other email vendors (Emma, Constant Contact, MailChimp, ExactTarget) and a number of them let you drop in your own HTML. I really think HubSpot should reconsider this.

Overall, HubSpot is a robust platform for professional marketers looking to boost inbound leads. Here are the HubSpot features most importance to me: 1. Visitor domain tracking: The "Prospects" view shows you the latest traffic from known domains, which is a great asset for us as B2B marketers. 2. Referring domain tracking: With all that great content we're generating, it's important for us to know where cross-links get nested and where are next wave of leads may be emanating from. 3. Social media scheduling/campaign assignment across channels. HubSpot essentially has a Hootsuite built right into it - but no link shortener. I still meander over to bit.ly for that.
My primary gripe is the inability to do simple HTML template imports and editing for emails. There are CSS sheets (which is beyond my skill-set and interest level to futz with) and templates for purchase, but sometimes I find it easier to slide over to MailChimp for some campaigns to use my HTML existing templates. Then there are the little nit-picky items that could use their attention: column sortability, for example, or being able to clear through from a report to view a visiting domain summary - not just the known contacts summary. Also, the dashboard claims to be customizable, but there are limits to what a person can set as dashboard elements. There's no internal link shortener for social media blasts. Those are pretty drill-down user requirements, though not deal-breakers.
