Pros

Great for triggering any action you want really and so useful if you are sending out large volumes of emails every month. Integration options are great too.
Its almost intelligent interaction with prospects allows our team great confidence in engaging and in capturing quality leads.
Marketo customer support team is very responsive and always available to help, this is something I like the most. Marketo's simple and easy user interface is amazing and very easy to use.

Pros

A good amount of details and marketing capabilities. HubSpot has some of the best integrations I have seen with other platforms.
HubSpot helps track, monitor and create the best content for growing my business. I have seen great strides from using this company.
Lots of cool features that are quite easy to use. Great academy to learn how to take good advantage of all the features.

Cons

Here are a few cons which shouldn’t be ignored. Reporting of Analytics of Marketo is very bad and in addiction smart list designs are not flexible and it is very difficult to design them.
With customization that is available, it is possible to get a bit lost in the hugeness that is Marketo. Lastly, there are no customizable reporting options which can make things hard.
Not much return on investment here; very basic functionality, and problems with our website getting clocked as spam form our target cusotmers.

Cons

I am disappointed with the number of panel limits you can have with the contracted plan. The other disadvantage is that UX can be tricky at times.
Any interactions with any person who works at HubSpot. Arrogant, rude, condescending, lacking any understanding of business rules.
It's frankly disgusting that this company relies on such draconian measures as a source of revenue.

I used Marketo briefly because we chose Marketing Cloud at the end of day mainly because MC is more user friendly. Marketo's feature is as powerful as other major email marketing automation tool and its customer support is good.

Pros

- Powerful features, anything you expect to be done by a marketing automation tool, Marketo covers it - Decent customer support - Good resource library for beginners - Great reporting feature

Cons

- Marketo is not as user intuitive as other tools like Marketing Cloud or HubSpot - The interface needs to be better

Powerful marketing automation for advanced marketing teams

If you need real automation, lead scoring, and a powerful marketing tool--get Marketo. Don't waste your time with Hubspot.

Pros

I love how easy it is to set up flows and programs that actually make sense. It's very easy to trigger actions based on just about anything going on in your CRM.

Cons

The design studio is pretty terrible. It's old and small changes are difficult to make without a lot of clicks. The overall design of Marketo in general is very old-fashioned.

Made marketing automation a lot easier. Used to have Hubspot and I feel like I can do a lot more with Marketo. Creating marketing campaigns were easier as was reporting.

Our marketing team had a horrible experience after using Marketo for a year and switched to HubSpot. It was the best decision we have made and we are not using Marketo again.

Pros

Marketo had a lot of potential in terms of its lead tracking, automated workflows and contact management capabilities. We were thrilled to be on board with using the application, but soon realized we would never get to use the extra bells and whistles it offered since the core components were a constant frustration. It's also a very expensive platform.

Cons

Marketo provides templates for emails and landing pages that are difficult to customize, especially with our company logo and branding. We constantly were hitting road blocks and their support always very slow to respond days later after a technical issue was reported.

Defininitely a good, robust marketing automation software. It's not as fancy and beautiful as Hubspot but the analytics and ability to track ROI of programs is valuable. They could do better with making their email templates less glitchy.

Pros

Marketo has a lot of companies that partner with them. They are a great company for Enterprise businesses.

Cons

All Marketing Automation tools are growing and have their own pros and cons. Marketo doesn't really have the whole Social tie in piece like Hubspot does, but it is able to tie into many via API. There are also some latency issues on the data processing side that gives us issues when we're bulk updating records or sending a large amount of emails.

I've used Pardot, Hubspot and Marketo - it's by far my top of the three.

Pros

Scalability, flexibility. Unlike many other platforms, Marketo truly can scale at a high pace when built out well. And if you're a confident user, it doesn't hide the complicated features behind a wall of impossible to breach "user friendly" interface - you can get into the weeds and play around and really customise things.

Cons

It's not the simplest, and can be quite tricky for newer/more novice users. But this can be overcome quickly with training.
